Interestingly this may have been the first one I ever saw on MTV. I think it is awesome they are using a Casio MT-40 as a primary synth. I wish I could tell what that larger gray keyboard is... One of the sounds that the person appears to be playing sounds like one from my AX80, but that came out 2-3 years after this song. It's a danceable but relaxing number.
@@PaulBoos On stage Polyrock used the Casio CZ 1000 & CZ 101, (same keyboard, just different size keys) 2 Korgs MS10 & MS 20, A Profit 5, The Mirage sampling keyboard and a vintage Acetone Organ. But while making the video they may have used other keyboards as props. And you could be right about it being a MT-40. I just can't remember
Same - it's my favourite song of January 2023! I was familiar with Polyrock's albums, but I had never heard the Above The Fruited Plain EP until a couple of weeks ago and this has quickly become my favourite song by them!
Polyrock was one of the first New Wave albums I bought and this was my fave from them (though it was from teh second album I bought from them...) BTW, that little white synth is a Casio MT-31 or 32 (don't remember the exact number); I had one of those. Great little preset keyboard I still wish I had.
Great song. The video is interesting too, for example the sceen at 2:28. A man raises from the sofa, decides to leave the room. At the same another man enters the room, singing, and outside there are several people planlessly walking around in the garden :)
Yeah, It Musta Been A Glitch Or Something During Airage (If That's A Word) On The A-Z Back In 2000; Kinda Like In Some Videos With The Whole "'Rock Art & The X-Ray Style' Album Credit" Problem.
too polished new wave drivel....they had no choice...but it will never equal earlier efforts even model citizens...billy would have been a better look and voice for the band. .he has more unique looks and as long ad he drops Byrnes style is better
Their first 2 albums are masterpieces.
they made only two
My favorite song of December 2017, believe it or not. This is another great new wave tune that I missed out on and I don’t know why.

Glorious song from a glorious era.
One of the better American bands of the early 1980s. Thanks for posting!!!
I heard them from a friend. Still playing it in2024. Solid synth and new wave. Looking forward to playing it until I pass 😮
Awesome song and decade.
Awesome track. One of the first new wave tunes I heard on WLIR FM. The station that dared to be different.

MTV screwed up. The name of the EP is 'Above The Fruited Plain"

Not even on Spotify and such a great tune. Produced by Philip Glass no less.
This is from the 1982 EP Above the Fruited Plain which Glass didn't work on. He was only on the two LPs.

"Above the Fruited *Man*"? Is that a man that starts off macho but then becomes a fruit?
