I saw Polyrock at the original 9:30 Club in DC, and at the end of the concert, Tommy Robertson promised us, "We'll see you in nine months!" I checked out the 9:30 Club schedule for years, and Polyrock never came back. To say I was bummed was an understatement. It was a great show put on by a great band.
Love Polyrock! The ethereal vocals... The brilliant use of repetition... I don't know how they didn't make it big like The Talking Heads & other bands of that time.
Absurd Polyrock wasn’t super famous. They fit into the New Wave era perfectly. this song sounds like it could be played on NPR today and ppl would think it’s from 2022.
I have been on a quest to find this damn song since the early Napster days 17 years ago. I couldn't remember the name of the band and the name Love Song is so generic that it never comes up at the top of any searches. As far as I can tell the lyrics are not in any on-line database so what little I could remember of the lyrics never came up. I finally got the bright idea to add a year to the search term and this M-effer finally came up! Thanks for posting. This song is hypnotic.
Tim..thank you.. thats exactly the song im referring to .the one thing by inxs. Lol. Sounds a lot like it. Especially the background hymns. I love both songs. Cheers
These New Puritans, Wild Beasts, Animal Collective, Kills ecc.
From a remarkable compilation album called Blits. New Wave, too short lived. Except everyone now thinks they’re NW. nope. Never again. I’m so glad I lived through that era.
Couldn't put my finger on the exact song... but I know for a fact that Inxs has a song very similar to this.. I assume Polyrock made this song first... love both bands..
Excellent! My band opened up for Polyrock on New Years Day 1983, during the Above the Fruited Plain tour.
Catherine's beauty was smoldering...
Catherine is impossible to locate.
@@michaelleescott5360 She's happy and making a living as a jewelry designer in NYC. Well in her 60s.
@@jerrycargill5062, thanks. Good to know.

I was at that show. I also saw them at the Marble Bar in Baltimore.

I was lucky enough to see them a few times. Great live!

Saw them at the Milestone in Charlotte, early '80s. Been listening to them since.
amazing band , so many years ago
No. 27 on my favorite songs of 1981.
This goes on my ‘perfect songs’ playlist. I only have a handful of songs I’d love to cover…this is one of them💕💞💕
I saw Polyrock on Jan 24th 1983 at First Ave in Minneapolis Minn.
My neighbor’s band, East Village, New York, pure 1980s.
Had never heard of Polyrock despite being a big Philip Glass fan. This sounds incredibly fresh - could easily be a new Metronomy or Alt-J song!
this is supercool. haven't even thought about this band in 20 years, but totally loved them at the time. anybody have videos of the 'plastics' ?
Ein wunderschönes Lied!

Awesome band but never made it to the top of the new wave band wave. Certainly not due to talent.

Does not sound like the inxs song at all
Sounds more like INXS-The one thing.
