Once again, I thank Monolith for providing with the codes for this giveaway! I hope the people who get the codes enjoy the game as much as I do. Please let everyone know in the comments if you get a code! The video is just over 90 minutes long, but I was playing this expansion for significantly more before I finished. Hunted down a lot of captains, collected enough coin to hire all mercs... Also, the first thing I did was get the Numenorean artifacts, which were pretty easy to find, but I left all that out of the video. Kinda boring to just watch me fly around. Now my thoughts about the Desolation of Mordor DLC. **SPOILERS** Very fun to play, Baranor's gadgets remind me of the Arkham games in a way and it is very satisfying to play as him. This new DLC also provides a significant challenge in the way that if you die, you don't resurrect like Talion, Celebrimbor or Eltariel. I like this, as it gives a new perspective for this kind of game. However, this did take a toll on the Nemesis System: the most important part of this system is dying, and dying here just ends the run. The region itself is quite fun to traverse as either Baranor or Talion, and presents new features like the wyrms. Also, the layout of the fortress flows much better than those in the main campaign. Speaking of that, the fact that his region is accesible in the main campaign as Talion is fantastic! Monolith has a track record of bad DLC that adds nothing to the base game, but Desolation of Mordor changes that. Here is hoping this is a sign of the future and they learn from this. Now regarding characters. The one that shined was Serka, very interesting personality and easily likeable. Baranor is still Baranor, so kinda meh and lacked development. Zhója was a waste and so was Torvin, I am afraid. He doesn't do much, his motivations are vague and he never follows through with whatever those were. The story. It was all flowing nicely, but two things disappointed me. First, Torvin being irrelevant after the prologue. Second, the ending. Going through so much to take the fort only for the characters to abandon it and set a wyrm to guard it out of nowhere. Finishing the DLC is not the end. You can continue playing in a sort of challenge mode to earn special gear without having to go through the story missions again. This adds a lot of replayability, unlike Blade of Galadriel, which I never had a desire to replay. Desolation of Mordor gets an 8/10 from me. Unlike other DLC, this one is worth it's value. You should absolutely get it.
Hello friend. So now that they are finished with the story dlcs do you think they will bring anything substantial in the july update like new gear/armor visual update(so not many armor sets are just copy pasta of one another),new orcs or updated voicelines to title unique orcs or even cele/nazgul skins? One could only hope.
Monolith made a big translation mistake. In the shadow of the past mission Darthad in Lithlad there's a bonus objective. The description of this objective is "set 9 frozen Uruks on fire", but in the German version the description is "zünde 9 Uruks an", which means "set 9 Uruks on fire". So German players do not know they have to freeze the Uruks first and because of this they can't get the gold rank in this mission (which is required to get a trophy). I tried to get the objective for 30 Minutes and then I went into the menu and changed the language.
The first outpost leader mentions an orthog brotherkiller. Could this have been forthog orc slayer? An orc in lithlad who escaped and gained a reputation of helping mordor's mightiest heroes but did so after he changed his name?
@@thedemonshield8652 I mean, it might still be. I don't recall orcs talking about other orcs by name. They mention rivals, blood brothers, overlords and what not, but they never do by name.
i am just glad to know that talion wasnt COMPLETELY alone in his fight for mordor, even though the main game doesnt show it,the dlcs do,he got help from eltariel,Baranor,Idril(though she is not seen in this dlc,she is definetly a part of shadow wars).i just felt like he was All alone, stranded in a cursed land with only DUMB fucking orcs to talk to.lonely, the ring corrupting him every day.fighting and endless battle without any friends.its just a bad feeling you know, you are alone agaisnt the forces of sauron in mordor, the most shitty and cursed land you can be in.but seeing how Eltariel and baranor help out a lot is enough to make me happy, while eltariel and Talion were holding off the main middle earth baranor was conquering lithlad.its just like a group of great friends swearing to protect gondor and mordor at all costs,Fighting until the end.back to back,to hold off sauron's forces.instead of just a corrupt talion, dying and dying every day from the corruption caused by isildur's ring.it is so good that it makes even a grown man like me cry.
Uruk's Hollow, it is possible that i have the orcs of machine tribe yellow !? The name is ''The Wasp'', ''The Exterminator'',''Web-Breaker''...They are the legendary orcs of the DLC Blade of Galadriel!
You need to get a captain with the right voice, and then get lucky enough when you execute him so you get an animation that severs his arms (specifically his right arm at least). So yeah, you need plenty of luck for this. Also, defenders never worked for me.
To Uruks Hollow, i thourally enjoyed this video. I thought barinor had epic skills. Its nice to see the wyrm's in action, and the brother thing was a nice touch. The mercenaries are bad ass at times and get involved. The massive forts that are captured in shadow of war and this game seem to look all the same. I just wish monolith had made the forts different of all shapes and sizes, hidden passages and surprizes here and thare. Would have made going after the fortresses more fun for me. Thats the only point i wish was different. Other than that i love the shadow of mordor and shadow of war. This game and blade of galadrial. Bring on a 3 rd epic monolith that is 8 hours long. Make it in the far north when the kingdom of Angmar was up and running. Make a whole story and fight up in Arnor and all the evil that dwelled thare. Gundabad was where the orcs had there forges to make there weapons of war. And the kingdom of Angmar lay beyond. A fell place that the witch king ruled. If your listening monolith thats an area whare a massive game could be made. Tons of evil dwelled up in the north under the witch kings command. The nazgul, orcs, goblins, all kinds of trolls, ologs, dragons, spiders, wargs, wolves, war bats, thanks for putting this game up uruks hollow. Really enjoyed watching it.
Only if you rush to finish it. I was playing for about 6 hours, getting upgrades and hunting for gear. It's also meant to be played several times. Once you complete the story, you can play again in a sort of a challenge mode, which is meant to be completed as fast as possible. Not to mention this DLC also adds the region to the main camapign, with new missions and such.
raam the warrior are u serious? and baranor looks more like an egyptian of ac origins and the gadgets ofcourse copied from ac syndicate 🙄 ruined middle earth game usp
he is not the main character, the main character is Talion, someone who looks reallly like Aragorn from the films, and his companion celebrimbor,i assume you are a LOTR hardcore fan because of instead of saying LOTR based game you say TOLKIEN based game which is really dumb, anyway you probably know celebrimbor from the books,he is a wraith now.Baranor, this african american guy is a side character in the main game and this is like a 5 hour dlc,so they added him here as a main character.
Cheers for the reply. Quite the fan of Tolkien's works (including his poetry, Errantry is especially good), and should have put it as, "the main character in a game based on Tolkien's works". Yep on the wraith. On Baranor, this came up: "Baranor is a Man and supporting protagonist in Middle-earth: Shadow of War. He is a sergeant and the frontline commander of Gondor's last doomed stronghold in Mordor, Minas Ithil. He was born in Umbar as Warad and lived presumably with his brother Jagai and their parents. Yet was given to Gondor as a hostage of peace, no one ever came to bring him back because his parents were killed in a mercenary raid. Lost and abandoned in Gondor, he was adopted by a wealthy family of Minas Ithil, and in time began to see Minas Ithil as his true home. Eventually he joined the soldiery and rose to the rank of Captain in the guard." He is from Umbar, an area with Corsairs, and definitely connected to the Haradrim and Gondorian occupation. The voice actor is Nigerian-American, and the character looks REALLY African American. This is rather amusing, as the Haradrim are not black Africans (and certainly not African-Americans). The actor, and character, should be an Arab or North African Berber. Putting in African-Americans as Haradrim or Gondorians, or as a central character in something inspired by Tolkien's works, really is blackwashing. Haradrim have been shown as tan to pale. Umber is not even black, it is yellow-brown. I'm not supporting blackwashing LOTR or Tolkien's works. It sticks out so much it is worthy only of ridicule.
@@winstonchurchill7822 blackwashing in media like games is about changing and warping what the original material was. Tolkien didn't write adventures with the African American. The more you look into the source material the more you will see it is its own fantasy world, that completely has no need for blackwashing, or modern nonsense of representation and diversity. Talion is cool, without a doubt. Now would you like him to be a black trans woman? What about if one of his companions was a black trans woman first before they started to warp him? It's the rot, and should not be supported.

They did not. I was only given codes for the giveaway.
The only thing that concerns me the most on their DLC or 'Expansion' they said is the length. I wish it will be like 6-8hrs
I really enjoyed this dlc it’s really fun

Oh Baranor..
You perv...
What about the Lithlad for the main game? Can you conquer it? I have only the base game, and I have no access to the Lithlad.
You can go there as Talion, take the fort, and do some new Shadows of the Past missions.
Ah, so Lithlad IS available for the main game for DLC owners. I see, thank you.
JUST REDEEMED GOLD EDITION PS4 BABYYY THANK YOU URUK’S HOLLOW

I love this DLC even the part were you can capture outpost's but I don't like that when you die you have to restart
So do you play desolation of mordor first or shadow of war main game
So do you think they are going to add new save slots in the future? If so when do you think this will happen?
Is it possible to get the sand Spider in the main game?
13:10-13:14 since WHEN can you counter the shadow strike of a mystic uruk? Can Talion and Eltariel do that as well?
Yeah they can
You are the mvp man. I got a steam code. I wanted this game for so long. Thank you so much! (And Monolith)

Thanks for the codes my dude! Just found one myself!
Enjoy! Thank Monolith too, they were generous enough to give me codes for this.
Do codes appear randomly on screen
There's five of them in total, for varied platforms.
Thank you for the upload. Any chance of doing a video with all the executions by/to mercenaries?

Any possibility of seeing a video about mercenaries' scars in the future?
They don’t get scars
