Im happy they found a way to keep players interested after finishing the campaign. This looks like it will keep a good multiplayer pop, and keep it interesting and fun. Im unbelievably excited for this game, feels like a decade since August 2019 when it was announced!
Watch there be no campaign
That's my concern! @@HelminthCombos
@HelminthCombos LOL, who is the publisher? It's sad that I could imagine this from some, you know?
@@HelminthComboshomeworld without campaign? u do know the homeworld's story is always one of the series highlight, right?
I hope we can progress like in SC2 Coop and not reset after loss in this Rogue-like mode. Let us keep the talent points and upgrade our base/ships.
Alright! A game mode like I've always wanted for Homeworld, good music that fits the series, beautiful scenery, co-op, raw gameplay... this is what we really want to see.
Nope, this is like not adding anything new at all to the 20+ years old HW1 😅
So, there was a progressive roguelike mode in the previous iterations? yeah, no, there wasn't. @@motoboy6666
0:18 The homeworld games always had great voice acting with their tone of "professionals under stress" and this line makes a good example. The "Carrier down" line is simple, short, yet there is emotion.
That was masterfully acted. We sensed the distress, and yet it is not overdone, unlike many games that like shouty characters. The homeworld series is one of incredible ambiance, and details like it make me immediately care again about my fleet. There must be a reason why stuff in my home are named after elements of homeworld still after all those years.
I don't think that's the case with Homeworld 2. Most units from both factions shared the same voice quotes. What's worse, the pilot/captain announces "we are going down" when getting destroyed emotionlessly 😑, how's that good voice acting
The voice acting is awesome. They sound like what I reckon they would if it was real. "professional under stress" is a great way to describe it
My wife and I love the Homeworld series... having a co-op mode like this is going to be a blast!
You are a luck man!
i would make babys just t ohave a family fleet!
This co-op mode looks awesome! Hopefully there will be various difficulty settings.
I think it scales; the better you perform, the harder it gets. The more ships you have, the more the enemy has. The fewer ships you lose, the better the enemy becomes.
How do you find the latest patch to DoK? Forcing always-online on us along with EGS software.
Sup bud. Homeworld 3 can't come out fast enough! Let's team up for the coop missions.
This looks amazing. Feels like old times, when games tried to be different and new
Looking forward to reporting in to Galactica Actual. *heavy drum beat with additional rapid light percussion*
This game is a memory that my dad and I had when we were kids. After finishing it, I was looking forward to the sequel. I didn’t expect that half a lifetime later, my dream would come true!
You do know there is a sequel, right? And a prequel? This is the third in a linear series of four.
Neat, it's good to see Homeworld taking inspiration from new ideas and games. A lot of flops happen because a developer has nothing new to say.
Cool idea to stir up the veteran skirmish mode for post campaign play.
The game looks fantastic so far!
Oh man. Never would've expected a rouge-like mode, but this seems neat.
It's not roguelike. It's an RTS. The use of that term is purely lazy marketing to try and make it more appealing to a younger crowd.
The game, and this specific game mode are already loooking great. I think they are likely to stand well on their own RTS merits without needing dumb marketing fad terms to buff it out.
@@Malikav0311 The game is an RTS. The mod is roguelike. Being roguelike has nothing to do with being an RTS.
@@JAnx01 No, the *mode* is still absolutely an RTS with persistent features between levels. That is a function that has existed across numerous different genre's including RTS games *far* before the term "rogue-like" even existed.
@@Malikav0311 Except that's not what the term "rogue-like" means at all. The most notable traits include progressing through levels that are often procedurally generated with ever increasing difficulty until failure, at which point you start over, with limited or no saves. The term has been around since the 90's and is the perfect way to communicate to the player that there is a new "instant-action" mode besides the usual skirmish in the game.
@@Malikav0311 Roguelike is a genre and but it still can be used as a descriptor.
The same way we describe a game to have a FPS mode to explain that you can play in first-person without the game necessarily be an FPS (like the Elder Scrolls games), a roguelike mode offers a "if you lose, you start over from scratch" gameplay. Just because RTS games had features like this before (and, btw, roguelikes existed since the 80s, before RTSs were a thing), it doesn't invalidate the fact that we have a term for that feature now.
The game is an RTS and it offers a roguelike mode. Yes, the term roguelike has been muddied over the years but, just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean that we can't say that Homeworld3 has a roguelike mode; because it does. Lots of games have that now because that's how progress happen. FPSs have RPG elements now.
The game is looking absolutely fantastic.
Outstanding job of the whole Gearbox team, greatly appreciated!! 👍
BBI made this game, Gearbox is mostly publishing.
@@readyforlol Well, Gearbox believed in BBI, they bought the Homeworld saga and let BBI take as much time has they need, so yes, good job also to Gearbox, otherwise we won't have homeworld 3
@@diego2817 And BBI is basically the former team that made HW1 and HW2 when they were working at Relic back in the day.
@@AnubisG0D actually no, BBI only have the lead artist...
Graphically looks impressive, I hope the campaign has a strong story since that is all I am really interested in. I do not see why there is a need for a season pass.
For those people who scream that without a battlepass a game is trash
I think to add more races, campaigns, or both.
Get more money to convince investors/publishers they are worth the money. They want to charge more than we're used to, but know that too high of an entry point cost is not palatable. So if they can deliver a good experience with the initial product, they can convince us to buy more of it.
At this point, to me it's all practical. It's a luxury product and they can and should charge as much as they think they can, but the experience better be worth it, from initial launch to support.
@@YouAreStillNotablazethis was a perspective I've not been privy to. Thanks for the insight
They have announced new factions to be used in multiplayer being the reason for a season pass, while I wish they’d be free updates, it’s an unfortunate standard that has to be done to get investors in game dev nowadays
This is how you do RTS in 2023. I'm so excited.
Homeworld was way ahead of its time back in early 2000s, the visuals and the concept was insanely advanced and well polished. I was 7 and still just amazed at how great the game felt but also simple enough for a little kid to play. Now that I am 30, playing some of my friends after work has been absolute treat.
I am more excited for this game than any game in the last 20 years. I remember loading up Homeworld 1 the fist time when it first came out and it totally blowing me away.
YESSS!! The gameplay is looking even better and I cannot wait for the release date!
Interesting that the opfor ships are like the dreadnought and sajjuk of HW2.
Perhaps they have also studied progenitor tech
I haven’t been this hyped for a game in a LONG time.
For Hiigara! For the Bentusi!
That's how you make something replayable! Coop Roguelike is one of the most fun genres there are.
Looking forward to this game!
If you let me name and design my fleet logo, color, and add some customization... I'm sold.
Time to preorder finally
This is an amazing idea that will add even more replayability. I feel this is going to be another Homeworld game I will replay just for the campaign alone a couple of times :D
Can't wait for this. The only feedback I have for this kind of mode is I hope they introduce a wide variety of objective types/challenges/randomization so each run feels different.
Rocket Frigates are still OP
A Homeworld tradition 😅
My excitement is palpable
I'm here for the campaign, but I'll stay for this.
Can't wait to play co-op with my brothers
Really excited about this. I love to play with my friends and this seems awesome
I played this series since 1999 this looks sweet.
looks fantastic! i can't wait for the modding community to get a hold of this game!
_Im so big happy, Homeworld is fucking masterpiece game._
So we all agree that we roleplay in chat during the mission right?
That music takes me back to dial up internet and a big white box for the monitor.
This remids me of Star Trek game I used to play, way back
Interesting how the torpedoes now look like photon torpedoes from Star Trek.
Great to see homeworld 3, Stormgate, zerospace, tempest rising, BAR & stargate terran command nicely bringing back RTS genre back from the brink
It's a rougelike co-op mode... in a 3d space RTS
I'm actually really into this. Like FTL, but on the scale of an entire fleet.
This is a fantastic addition, love it
Well I was already very excited but with this, I'm really really looking forward to jump right back in with my friends. I still heavily play HM 1-2 and Homeworld: DK with my friends. Let's hope the release is solid!
Co-op will be insane
Co-op for Homeworld? Now all I want is VR
I've never thought about this... but VR Homeworld would be the sweetest thing ever
I thought the hype couldn't get any higher.
I was wrong. This looks absolutely awesome.
This seems similar to the multiplayer of Battlefleet Gothic 1. Can't wait to try it out!
I still can't believe Homeworld 3 is real and it will launch near by birthday :D
Never knew I wanted this. Awesome!
This is fleet command! Nice to see some gameplay!
No way! I'm super excited for this mode
The new maps look amazing BBI!!
This looks sick
I see they changed railgun frigates to ion frigates, a good idea for the lore
I saw railgun corvettes so those might still be coming soon
@@admiralmallard7500 I can live with it, railguns are very cool after all
One of the most anticipated games!
This has so much potential hope Gearbox can pull it trough.
AMAZING 🎉
I knew it was going to have multiplayer, but this co-op mode sounds very promising and is completely new to the franchise. Looking forward to trying it out. Maybe we'll get an open-world or a grand strategy version of this franchise in the future?
Man, this is so cool! One more reason I can't wait for the launch!
Those ship designs look SLEEK. I can't wait for this.
I love Homeworld ship design.
Everyone loves comp stomping with friends. Glad they built a whole game mode out of it.
Well this looks fun as hell
I have watched a player going through the war games missions during one hour of gameplay. Missions are randomly selected from a pool but regrettably the spawn points are static. After 2-3 runs, most of us may abandon it if it is what i have seen. Let's hope that this aspect of the game will be developed even further as i am patiently waiting for the 4th (5th, i love the beast slayers) game of the Homeworld series.
Static spawn points haven't stopped something like Starcraft 2's Coop mode from being fun as all hell. Considering this mode has randomized powers thrown into the mix, I imagine it'll have enough changeup between runs to make playing through them again interesting for a long while.
Looks fantastic. Great series.
The torpedo frigate is sick looking!
I am beyond excited for this game and now there is a coop semi-roguelike mode too?!
@@Malikav0311The mode is a rouge-like, and if integrated and made well, could be really fun in an RTS setting
@@kenis555derp6 What are you even talking about? This literally is an RTS. The base game is an RTS. This specific mode is also an RTS. It utilizes features that have existed in both the RTS genre and many others since decades before "rogue-like" was even a term.
Hype hype 🎉
Looks awesome!
0:43 that explosion looks weird. For a ship like that
I think it's a super zoomed in corvette
That's just what I had dreamed of
Please make sure performance is good on release gearbox. I've seen some footage and it seems to get quite laggy with large numbers of ships
95% of Games run like Ass on release and also made in the shitty Unity Engine so you can't expect much. Deserts of Kharak for example always ran like Moldy Ass.
absalutley stunning cannot wait
It's like the persistent fleet system on single player campaigns now on multiplayer... now that is fun with a challenge.
This looks pretty. :)
Well, looks nice and seemingly retains the initial ambience,
These levels look incredible.
Hope to God this is optimized on launch.
Ooof. Something about that 'Carrier down' voice. Great voice acting.
oh my god! I played homeworld 1 and it was probably one of the best games i played during that time.
I waited long enough for this. I'm glad it happened. The successor arrives.
Great trailer, hyped up
This is a hell of a lot better than adding dead on arrival competitive multiplayer
I am hyped for this
Music sounds outstanding
i hope the game will have a ranked 1v1 mode :O
a dream come true
We are already pretty happy even if they just release it with the campaign and classic multiplayer, man this is just whole another level. I am really happy the devs are trying something new and extremely excited to play this mode.
I must admit I will likely never play this, both because I suck at RTS games and because I have no friends to play with but this looks awesome! I love reading dev logs and watching as a game forms
I'm glad that StarCraft II's coop mode is spreading in other games, each with their own twist on the formula !
Very cool Concept, I just hope we can play it with more than three players
YAAASSSS
I hope we can progress like in SC2 Coop and not reset after loss in this Rogue-like mode. Let us keep the talent points and upgrade our base/ships.
1:05 This mission is called: "Rescue Shepard".
Rouge-like RTS game mode?
Can’t say I saw that coming, but I’m here for it.
looks amazing
This looks awesome, and fun.
Neat we will love to see if there have ant gather resources and scavenger effect like before.
a much larger scale skirmish battles please! need to ramp up that maximum fleet size
Ah Oh holy moly!!!
ice levels look amazing
