- Let’s read about the Ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead, a series of spells, prayers, and hymns written to guide the dead on their journey through the afterlife.
The first half is whispered, and the second half is soft spoken - choose your preference!
Thank you so much for being here.
Much love,
Jessa ❤️
I love this video, especially the second half. The soft spoken is A+++ delivery and recording quality. I love the content you choose and your accent and that you know things, rather than just reading things. More ancient history, art, esoteric topics in this soft spoken style please.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support :)
@@JessaLynnASMR So excited to see what you will post next! 😊
The problem of your videos is that their content is actually too interesting for me to falling asleep, so I always try my hardest to actively pay attention and not fall asleep😄
It's important to remember that "average life span of 35" doesn't mean they were all kids. Childhood mortality drags that number down. More died than survived before reaching adulthood, but once they did reach adulthood, many lived well into their 60's. Especially the wealthy and those with more resources.
Love it! ❤ Would love a follow up of The Tibetan Book of the Dead
Jessa, you are a unique and intriguing woman! Your literary videos are great and the soft-spoken/whispered delivery makes them all the more interesting. Keep doing this, love it!
Another fascinating, beautiful and relaxing video. Thank you! And congratulations on (almost) 6k subscribers 🎉

I genuinely look forward to seeing you have a new video out. Another great one!
Love the wispering! Very interesting too!
❤
Fantastic video, really enjoyed this one.
Always glad to see a new video from you. Hope the new year has been good so far.
At 33:00 ish when talking about yesterday being in front of you and tomorrow being behind you, I couldn't help but think of Terry Pratchett's idea of the Trolls in his Discworld series thinking that living things travel backwards through time because they can't see where they're going but can see where they've been. Just like walking backwards.
Omg I haven’t heard anyone talk about discworld in so long you are so right :)
Thank you for your work. 😊
I think you're fantastic Jessa. 😊
Yess thank you! 🎉❤
I shouldn't listen to this right after waking up. Now I wanna go to bed and it's not even noon yet
About to sleep like an Egyptian over here.
Perfect comment 😂😂
your mind is just amazing! because of you i read mythology by edith hamilton (loved it!)
thank you for making such interesting videos 💗
You always have such interesting content but I fall asleep so easily to your voice. Darn I’ll just have to watch each video again and again 😅
The process by which Isis resurrected her brother is, shall we say, rated R. Good video, back to your roots.
I found fascinating the concept that erasing a word or picture equals to destroying that same object or person in another reality.
Reminded me of the Afghanistan video, where the taliban would destroy sacred art in order to obliterate an idea, and also to the common believe surrounding voodoo dolls. I think its called sympathetic magic.
Also, its strange to think how people could be considered adults at 13. Yet I remember this wasn't only in Egypt, Dante was considered an adult at 13 as well. Amazing how things have changed.
Thoth was the scribe god, and also the deity of magic. Magic and writing were linked, and now I understand better why. Its odd to think that writing was such a rare skill that those who wielded it could influence (or straight up shape) some aspects of reality around them.
Finally, I love Egyptian mythology, and regarding the myth of Osiris I found a bizarre detail thanks to a Ted video: Isis and Neftis found almost every part of Osiris, except one that had been eaten by a fish.
That part was what he had between his legs.
So Osiris decided he didn't want to return like that, even if Isis still loved him, and choose to rule in the afterlife.
I missed your videos, and, by the way, that is a beautiful book edition!
Very cool. I was just wondering when a new video would drop. Have a great week.
You look like the female version of me and I think that's why I am fascinated.
Except I have green and amber eyes.
Your eyes are like bluebells.
Too bright for me, lol
I need a haircut
Welp, if a 7,000 year old mummy unleashes a plague on the world we know why 😂
I wished girls like you went to my school.
Thank you for this presentation, very interesting.
