This is a welcome change from those long-winded RPG playthroughs, considering the comment section for this series has no trace of people giving them shit for their incompetence and obliviousness as they play this game for the first time
I bet like some of the other Pokémon Sun/Moon playthroughs I've seen, theirs will be just as terrible in more ways than one. I'd prefer watching more of this instead.

I love how, when this series started, everyone was like "WTF is this?" "Stop starting new series before you finish in-progress ones!" "No! Pokémon Sun!" And now, five episodes in, its everyone's favorite new series, and we're begging them to keep playing it.
i kinda like it that they interrupt a ongoing series. because pokemon sun is gonna take a while, and if people don't enjoy any of the two games, it can just stop for a little bit and other people can watch something fun

Pokemon games are boring as shit to play, and even more boring to watch. And I'm a Pokemon fan.
Their FireRed and EmeraldGreen videos were so good though. I really don't think the game is the problem, it's how they're playing it. All of their effort goes into doing wacky unfunny voices now.
For FireRed, it was good until it went on that long hiatus while Arin tried to cheat his way to finish the playthrough and didn't really give us a satisfying end.

Ok, so I got morbidly curious and looked up a walkthrough for this game. I found ONE. It consists of a list of directional inputs with a description of which frame of animation to click them on. Them's your core gameplay mechanics. Noice!

@@James-ce6dc ah sweet sweet child. This game is from late 80s early 90s and it's running at like 5-6 frames a sec.
It’s closer to 8 or 12 frames.
Choppy animation never the less. It is the bare minimum in order to create the illusion of movement.
The game itself will run at either 60 or 30 FPS roughly. Animation on the other hand could be running at any frame rate, although animations commonly run at around 12-15 FPS
I love how the CDi was running games at 60 frames but most modern consoles struggle. Hmmmmm xhahaha
Can we just have a new series where Arin and Dan suffer through every CD-I game they can find to see if there's a single decent fucking game on this system

In the midst of his despair, he called out "Mother Gaia! Look at how they bound your poor son! How they have turned against their own!" But, there was nothing to save lowly Prometheus.

See, this is why Dan needs to play more awful games. Arin's rage is much like an outburst, where he screams made-up words and phrases, which are of their own type of humor. But Dan's rage is much like life itself: Slow, degrading, and wasting away at his psyche until Dan falls over dead from rage and Arin falls over dead from pure joy at his torture.

As much as I appreciate the longer series, I prefer the weirder, funnier ones like the CD-i games. Yeah, Pokemon is pretty neat I guess, but it's such a long game and tbh it's one of those games that I find more fun to play myself than watching someone else play.

Up until this level it was. Because while other levels were legit hilarious to watch them fail at, this one kept spearing my in the soul, I was feeling the frustration from across the interwebs.
It's clear from the choppies that these golf balls are filled with chocolate.
I'd kill for the HD Remake version of this game (with the same exact flaws of the original), even if it takes about a decade or two, just for the later generations to see and enjoy Arin and Danny being tortured for the second time.

Food for thought: if enough people have played this game, inevitably there is someone who got a hole-in-one on every hole for their first playthrough and went "huh, that was easy," and never played again.
I don't think you can get hole in ones, the game seems programmed to only let certain moves work, and when they do work the ball goes to a preset place. There is a minimum stroke per hole, but it's not one.

- Wait for the door to come down, then wait another second, and press the button to shoot JUST right when the door starts to come back up.

Man, this was my favourite Grumps series, and I rewatch it every few months, and it saddens me that they never did the last 5 holes. All they had to do was give up on the 13th hole when they hit the stroke limit, and the game would've taken them to the next hole. Really wanted to hear their reaction of the Golf War hole.
Oh they'll be back...... Arin figured out the submarine one, just a matter of time on this one. Seems if they can hit it to the RIGHT and get it across is the correct way.
