When I was diagnosed with cancer in 1993 I concentrated on building up my immune system. I removed the sources of stress which included cutting contact with my entire dysfunctional and unsupportive family. I’m still alive 26 years later. Coincidence? You decide!

I do have diastolic dysfunction so it was considered first until my cortisol levels were checked. They were extremely low, almost crisis mode. Some test are still pending but my suspected diagnoses are adrenal insufficiency. I go to the Endocrinologist in 2wks but for now I'm on hydrocortisone 15mg in the morning and 5mg at night. I do feel a little better and not as weak and dizzy. Just trying to work on controlling my stress levels and how I respond to them! Listen to the doctor.... oh he's good at this!!! Wow!!! Her Covid just about ended her life. She was in the ICU. I was extremely stressed, mentally destroyed. 7 years prior, I had health issues. My thyroid TSH was already 8 "hypo" but it was ignored. This stress event sent my TSH to 13. My Cortisol was at the highest max normal range. My health dropped rapidly. I am now being treated with Levothyroxine since 6 months ago. Multiple organs were involved and still are. My original doctor said the elevated WBC and Neutrophils were probably cancer. I quit seeing him and found a new doctor that would actually listen. In the context of evolution, it makes sense that cortisol inhibits the immune system. During the "fight-or-flight" response, you need all your energy for an acute/short-term stress response.
Now, as Dr. Berg already said, chronic stress and constantly high cortisol can cause unspecific inflammation (very bad) and makes you susceptible to infections (also very bad)!

isnt prednisone a steriod? my dermatologist stated that I have acute and chronic inflammation which has led to me having Lichen planus and my hair thinning on my scalp, face and chest, however the what I find scary is that the dermatologist suggest for me to take prednisone at 65mg for the first ten days and lower the dosage by 5mg each week for 2 months and then take hydroxychloroquine - I find this very concerning and my body at the age of 37 years old is being pumped full of steriods and hence why i have not taken them - what do you all think?

It went back to normal a couple months later, no meds, never came to a diagnosis of anything. I was incredibly distressed 3 years ago at the time of making the OG comment searching for answers because the stress was doing all sorts of weird things to my body. I was convinced something was wrong, I have no explanation other than stress was making me sick. I did not have a healthy routine of sleeping/eating which most likely had a huge part to play. Everything was out of wack and exhausted

@@mocampbell2780 Oh ok. Yes, my wbc has been decreasing steadily as well but I’ve never felt sick or unhealthy. I lost a ton of weight and lift/workout everyday these past few years so I am unsure if that’s playing a role. I’m also stressed from nursing school.

@@yungg5703 It might be worth adding I was incredibly skinny at this time. I was very restrictive on what I would put into my body too almost ‘orthorexic’ as I had a fear of foods that ‘weren’t good’ for me or I deemed ‘rubbish’. Just worth a mention as I know when you’re working out a lot you are probably somewhat protein focused and possibly health conscious. WBC changes every hour/ everyday too it never stays the same, perhaps that is just your normal for the moment and like me in a couple years time you will forget about it/not care anymore and return to harmony. I assume it’s more difficult to get your mind off it as you are at nursing school and it is most likely brought to your attention a lot. Honestly the best advice I could give to you (I would have cried in absolute frustration if someone said this to me 3 years ago) is to just let go and say hm oh well that’s weird but whatever. If you are feeling fine then you are fine, i don’t believe anything scarier is going to come get you
