Hey, Chuck Prophet fans. Kurt here (Chuck's longtime co-writer, and co-writer of 8 of the tunes on Wake the Dead): Just wanted to say a big Thank You for all the love the disc and new band and individual songs are getting. Four years went into it. Lots of long days sitting around Chuck's Market Street shoe box office staring at the walls listening to David Johansen deep cuts and trying to find new places to eat lunch, during the pandemic and post-pandemic slow-to-recover landscape of downtown SF (and, yes, Chuck's treatment regime) - plus of course, our main musical diet: all the Cumbia tunes Chuck found and found and found as he tried to drum danceable rhythms into my thick head, even as we did our best, reaching back to our high school Spanish, to get the gist of the lyrics . . .
So, was going through my collection of albums and cd's of Chuck and realized that he's never made a bad song. Here is yet another example. Great song! ( :
@@tomgrych i am from Croatia, they never played here. Italy and Slovenia are near, they probablly played there. I missed STEVE WYNN, he played near my village but i was broke. Never mind, there are many great gigs around. I'm 56,didn't stop me to go to EXPLOITED gig, not a fan but but i checked them out and it was good enough.
@@Semprini537 I don't share your wish! The times with Green on Red are over! I saw Chuck at the age of 22 in Bochum, Zeche (Germany) in 1985 and he was clearly the musical leader of the band (ruclips.net/video/ixKJq3F4lXo/видео.html). But he has much more creative freedom with his band The Mission Express, as you can easily see from "Wake The Dead". Besides that, he and I would miss his wife Stephanie Finch. I'm sure of it!
@@omannomann Don't get me wrong,i follow CHUCK since GREEN ON RED days, but i also bought BROTHER ALDO,his first solo, and i still enjoy it. But i love GoR more
You've made your Graceland! Seriously, this works waaay more than it should. As a very longtime fan - I love it! Chuck + accordion has always led to good things.
Took a hot minute to find this song after hearing it in a friend's car. Glad I remembered how to use boolean operators and persevered to find it. This kicks ass!
Same, as the only white man with multinational Co workers, I am the coolest guy in the shop now I turned them on to this, Ecuador, DNRC Morroco and Peru
Love this Chuck‼️🙏🏽👌🏽Glad your ok ... Looking forward for your New album and your shows in the Netherlands in november/ december in 2024 and hopefully also in 2025 too ‼️?
Love this tune. Been humming it for weeks. Caught it on kxtu 91.7 Dallas radio. Took me a while to recall enough of the lyrics to correctly search the song. Subscribed and ready to catch you live!! Respect.
Spotify and Råhuset (the tiny live bar you play at in 2 weeks) brought me here today. Been years since I have heard someone "new" for me to make music that excites me. Sadly (with good reason) it is sold out
