Good job Chris. I’ve used BaseCamp for many years and this was a nice refresher. Two observations: There are some subtle differences between the Mac and the Microsoft BaseCamp programs. Right out of the box you had me checking Garmin to see if there was an update to the program that I didn’t have. (There wasn’t). Second: your picture at the lead-in to the vids looks like you are thinking “I’m doubtful they will get this, but here goes anyway.” SMILE! Glad you took the time to share this with those who find BaseCamp to be too complex. It really isn’t. Now, it it would just work reliably with the Honda system...but I am asking too much to expect Honda to implement that. I’m sticking with my 595 also. Also, for those who like a pdf they can print out and retain, Garmin has one and so does newenglandriders dot org. Thx for your major effort. I know it was time-consuming, and is appreciated.
Just watched all your Basecamp videos. They are a very good tutorial for planning your trip and getting it onto the GPS. Although not too many thumbs up I believe too many people have missed really good info on using the tech on their motorcycles or cars. Thank you.

I frequently transfer routes planned in Basecamp to a Garmin GPS (eg Nuvi models). Generally works fine except occasionally I notice that POIs or Waypoints I create and give names in Basecamp do not keep their names when transferred to the GPS. The waypoint will be there, but may be some generic name that is not the custom name I created. I can use the trip planner on the GPS to delete the generic waypoint and add the custom one in its place, but it is a pain to do this. The generic waypoint is accurately located, it just does not have the custom name I created. Have you ever seen this issue? Any suggestions as to how yo avoid it?
Thanks for sharing..... I have the 595LM with eight of my favorite rides that I created in BaseCamp. I would like to know if there is a way to organize the trip list on the 595LM. After importing them I would like to change the order. As always, thank you Cruiseman for another awesome video!!
Once you transfer your route with all the stops and times to your GPS, let's say you take 30 min, instead of 15 to get fuel. What happens to you arrival time? Does the Garmin recalculate your time on the go? Or is your time then off for the rest of the trip? Also, if you plan a stop at a location and then decide to skip that location, will the GPS keep telling you to turn around for miles or is there a way to tell the Garmin to skip that stop?
Garmin devices are crap! They are not usable unless you are connected to a group of nerds who know all of the intricate steps! My routes I downloaded from the BDR website on on my laptop desktop. How does a mortal human being, with 3 college degrees, transfer the routes from the desktop to BASE CAMP then to the Zumo? That is the question! Garmin bought Navionics and ruined the route planning on that platform. Sure, it is very capable but you have to know all 23 steps to make a route now- none of which are intiuitive to a normal human being! Navionics is no longer practical for routes. Thanks Garmin.
Hi Bill, I have the same issue. I own a Garmin Overlander and I am trying (for two weeks) to transfer the route designed at basecamp to the GPS. It's very boring, and sometimes it puts in doubt the ability of the user. It is very frustrating, an operation that should be simple becomes absolutely demotivating. Perhaps one more degree is needed just to understand the logic of this process, if that logic exists. Jorge Pinheiro

Another question. If you plan to leave your home at 5:30 but then don't actually leave until 6:00, what happens to your time schedule?
