Offline and having my cousins on spilt screen was some of the best memories playing this game. Absolute legend of a game, thank you for an insight back into this ❤️
Who'd have bought it though? Who would want to, with all of those old timers manipulating politics backstage like Hogan and Nash - 2 of the laziest, overpaid morons around. Then you had the joke roster in 2000, after Jericho, Saturn, Malenko, Guererro et all left and Vince Russo coming up with some insane storylines like the Judy Bagwell on a Forklift match. The Cruiserweight division was killed in the early 2000s when Prince Iakea was given the belt, when he did his ridiculous Prince angle. However, this division somewhat recovered once he lost the belt. Also, questionable signings - Why Tank Abbot? Why that Martial Artist?
WCW was certainly a huge mess before it closed...but I mean if they still had another game with the AKI engine I would've bought it lol. You'd prob be able to remake everyone who left to WWE anyway, just like how you can make WCW guys in WM2000 and WWF No Mercy pretty close to who they are. And yeah a lot really great wrestlers would've been gone, but there would've been a few highlights that would've been cool: prob would've seen Elix Skipper, AJ Styles, Shane Helms, The Yung Dragons in there for the cruserweight division and we still would've had mostly all the other cruiserweights in the game - who cares if on TV Prince Iaukea was champion? He wouldn't be champion in my game lol...also we probably would've gotten Ric Flair back in the game since World Tour - Shane Douglas, Lance Storm, Bam Bam Bigelow, Arn Anderson...there would've been a few cool additions added into the game that would've been great to see since those guys never were in any of the AKI games. So yeah even if WCW in real life wasn't great to watch the game could've certainly made up for it. I would just play all the matches they should've been making lol. The AKI engine is the best - even if Impact Wrestling came out with a game with the AKI engine today I would buy it for the engine alone.
+HCHaven7619 Oh yea totally forgot about that lol...thanks for the timestamps! Yeah it's pretty incredible...he REALLY doesn't want Sting to win the World Title lol
***** Great question! Two reasons: 1) I really love the sharpshooter as a move, and I always thought it was cool that Sting did it and called it the Scorpion Death Lock 2) In Hard mode on Revenge, unlike the later games, you really needed the CPU special meter to be down to around the blue color to successfully get a pinfall (most of the time). Even if you've been beating the crap out of them and hit them with your special, they are almost always going to kick out if their meter is green or above. So submissions are just the best way to go about winning if you can't time your special finish with the computer's meter, and you don't want the match to drag on too long where they can turn it around and beat you. Later on in Wrestlemania 2000, No Mercy, and VPW2, you can get a three count a lot easier after hitting your special if you've done enough damage, regardless if your opponent's meter is high or not.
Usually when I'm playing with wrestlers who had submissions as their finisher in real life, I try to emulate that and use them to win the matches in these runs (such as Bret Hart, Malenko, and Jericho). The A.I. in Revenge can be kind of tricky, and I find myself playing a lot more conservatively than in WM2000 and No Mercy, so using submissions makes it a bit easier to win. But when I play with someone whose finisher in actual wrestling wasn't a submission, my play style completely changes. Check out my runs with Goldberg, Rey Mysterio Jr., or DDP as examples of me winning most matches via pinfall, and how it changes my strategy.
Of course, and I'm happy to know you are interested!!! I have a lot of videos I want to make for those games, as well as VPW2. My schedule was a bit crazy in 2014, but in 2015 I want to put out a lot of new videos so I've been trying to free my schedule to do so. Also I got a fancy new mic for Christmas, so I'm going to be recording audio over the videos in the future, essentially making them Let's Play's. Hopefully within the next week I'll be uploading new videos, and a few of them I know will be from No Mercy, because I have already recorded some Light Heavyweight championship mode matches from that.
eBay! You can find that stuff for cheap! When I started working on this channel I had to buy some extra bits and replace my controllers and got everything fairly cheaply on eBay so if you really wanna scratch that itch I would suggest getting them from there
My guess is that Reese is way too big for the Scorpion Death Lock. Couldn't blame you for pinning Reese, really. You had a World Title belt to win, which thank goodness, you did. Studly job, brother.
Memories for life still got my netideo 64 and the wrestling game i use to make my brother cry when i beat his ass as the older Brother kicking his ass in this game was fun how he would get upset😅😅😅 was priceless
Great question! The game chooses them so it's random...I would never have Stevie Ray or Reese in a World title run for Sting lol there are a few better options...I always wished they gave you the option to choose
You press Block (R button) at the right time...dodging high flying moves is a lot tougher than other moves; the computer is able to do it more frequently on higher difficulty levels
lol...it is a noticeable difference for sure from Normal or Easy. I have been playing this game for a very long time so I guess I do make it look easy, but every now and then if I'm not paying attention or if I get too reckless the CPU can still beat me. Of the AKI games, I would say WCW/nWo Revenge and VPW2 have the toughest CPU on the highest difficulty.
Yeah that game was pretty bad...it was only published by THQ but another company, Inland Productions, were actually responsible for the development of that game.
+Chris zoellner I only used a weapon briefly in the beginning, and it doesn't really guarantee you the victory. I figured if Sting starts with a weapon might as well use it :-)
+LilPrince Killa I agree it's not that hard once you get used to it and figure out all the unfair things the cpu can do; but if you know how to avoid that you are good. Petty is a great word for it lol WM2000 was more balanced and forgiving. I do agree WM2000 is harder than No Mercy; IMO No Mercy is probably the easiest one, to me WM2000 & VPW2 are the hardest.
+Bruno Cassio Yeah WCW/nWo Revenge didn't have a storyline for the Championship modes. Isn't wasn't until WM2000 were you got a "career" mode, but it wouldn't be a full fledged storyline until WWF No Mercy.
Brian Adams was Crush way back in the mid 90's WWF; part of Demolition than later feuded with Macho Man. Known as Brian Adams in WCW, was briefly the KISS Demon if you remember that, and after being part of the nWO he and Bryan Clark were the tag team KRONIK; they went to WWE as part of the Invasion after WCW was bought but didn't last long there. He past away in 2007
+Chris zoellner Rope break was definitely on, in championship mode it's always on. You can see that in the beginning when it displays the rules. I just was able to use the Scorpion Deathlock efficiently so that I was getting the rope break.
one of the best wrestling games ever
Agreed!
BeBetterGamer Wrestling this game is fucking awesome
Offline and having my cousins on spilt screen was some of the best memories playing this game. Absolute legend of a game, thank you for an insight back into this ❤️
Split screen?
This fame didn't have split screen?
i love that cartoonish referee that keeps poppin' up lol what an amazing game, miss it so much
Just think of the games we could have had from WCW had Vince never bought them out
Right? A huge "what if?" scenario that I always think about...maybe would be a good topic for a video!

And who knows what Vince Russo was smoking in regards to Tank Abbott lol
ea was planning another game similar to mayhem did we really need that?
This brings back great memories. Best wcw game ever
It sure is!
Sting at one of the best years of his career when he became the crow sting
Sting put his right leg through for the scorpion deathlock where Bret put his left through for the sharpshooter. Never noticed that as a kid.
i love how he just sliding dropkicked hulk hogan while he was standing outside the ring lookin stupid lmao
Friggin Hollywood Hogan appeared 3 times in that video. Geez!
+HCHaven7619 I only face him once actually... starting at 9:47
+BeBetterGamer Wrestling Yeah, but he interfered in your 1st and last match.
+BeBetterGamer Wrestling 3:56 and 51:37 as well.
+HCHaven7619 Oh yea totally forgot about that lol...thanks for the timestamps! Yeah it's pretty incredible...he REALLY doesn't want Sting to win the World Title lol
There can only be one WCW/nWo Revenge World Champion, BROTHER!
LOL! I can't get over Perry Saturn man, holy damn is he on borderline God mode! Nicely done nonetheless.
Haha I know! Might have to give him his own title run; he was TV champ for a month lol.
BeBetterGamer Hmm... since you mention it, yes, he definitely does deserve his own run. ECW version of Saturn. Lol.

looks like everyone is all jacked up. Pretty real then.
Haha!
Just bought another copy from eBay just because of how much I loved it as a kid. I can’t wait for it to come in.
Still have this game for my N64 that I've had since I was a kid. Just need controllers and video wires.
eBay! You can find that stuff for cheap! When I started working on this channel I had to buy some extra bits and replace my controllers and got everything fairly cheaply on eBay so if you really wanna scratch that itch I would suggest getting them from there
Finally got another copy today. Traded 6 old games I'll never play for this & a red original N64 controller.
How are you doing bro I have noticed it been years since you haven't posted a video what's up when are you coming back ???
Anyone else think hard mode on wrestlemania 2000 was alot more difficult?
My guess is that Reese is way too big for the Scorpion Death Lock. Couldn't blame you for pinning Reese, really. You had a World Title belt to win, which thank goodness, you did. Studly job, brother.
Memories for life still got my netideo 64 and the wrestling game i use to make my brother cry when i beat his ass as the older Brother kicking his ass in this game was fun how he would get upset😅😅😅 was priceless
those were the days.
this game is fucking awesome as Hell
People hated playing me in this and no mercy because I mastered blocking 😂
I haven't play this game but I heard it's great
It certainly is!
You are pretty good at this game.
Thanks!
kind of a odd question but are the wrestlers you wrestle picked at random or are they preset it seems kinda odd some of these choices
Great question! The game chooses them so it's random...I would never have Stevie Ray or Reese in a World title run for Sting lol there are a few better options...I always wished they gave you the option to choose
Sting the legend.
12:28 how do you do what Hulk Hogan did? Do you puch L at the right time or what?
You press Block (R button) at the right time...dodging high flying moves is a lot tougher than other moves; the computer is able to do it more frequently on higher difficulty levels
BeBetterGamer Wrestling okay thank you, also Hulk Hogan did not want you to win.
Of course not...he's Hulk Hogan, brother!!! But yeah I kinda loved that he kept interfering it was great.
BeBetterGamer Wrestling Is "hard" really "hard"? Didn't seem like it in the video. You were destroying them.
lol...it is a noticeable difference for sure from Normal or Easy.
I remember I rented Nitro because it was made by THQ and I thought it would be like this but it turned out to be a piece of shit.
Yeah that game was pretty bad...it was only published by THQ but another company, Inland Productions, were actually responsible for the development of that game.
Real niggas game ❤❤
subbed
Thanks!
The only reason you beat everyone so quickly was because you used a weapon. Takes a lot of the difficulty out of a match.
+Chris zoellner I only used a weapon briefly in the beginning, and it doesn't really guarantee you the victory. I figured if Sting starts with a weapon might as well use it :-)
+BeBetterGamer Wrestling real shit
+LilPrince Killa I agree it's not that hard once you get used to it and figure out all the unfair things the cpu can do; but if you know how to avoid that you are good. Petty is a great word for it lol WM2000 was more balanced and forgiving. I do agree WM2000 is harder than No Mercy; IMO No Mercy is probably the easiest one, to me WM2000 & VPW2 are the hardest.
but this game is hard as shit
WWF no mercy was better :3
+Akemi Homura I agree! VPW2 is my favorite tho
Always! ☆
Akemi Homura this game is better. Because it is the only good WCW Game
i guess that could be true if a person was a WCW fan.
@@JohnnyStorm86 WCW vs. The World? WCW vs. nWo World Tour?
no storyline huh?
+Bruno Cassio Yeah WCW/nWo Revenge didn't have a storyline for the Championship modes. Isn't wasn't until WM2000 were you got a "career" mode, but it wouldn't be a full fledged storyline until WWF No Mercy.
Jose Rivera I like this game, but no storyline? ok, i think i need wwf no mercy
+LilPrince Killa haha me too!
+LilPrince Killa facts lol
12:30 who's that
Brian Adams was Crush way back in the mid 90's WWF; part of Demolition than later feuded with Macho Man. BeBetterGamer Wrestling didn't kronic have a run as tag champions in 2000?
Yup
BeBetterGamer Wrestling I remember kronic was is the main event of Halloween havoc 2000 against Goldberg
No wonder why wcw died
The theme songs were terrible 😔
Should have used the scorpion more.
I know! There was that one match with Reese I feel like would've been a good place to use it too; maybe next time
And you had rope breaks turned off again you took all the difficulty out of the matches.
+Chris zoellner Rope break was definitely on, in championship mode it's always on. You can see that in the beginning when it displays the rules. I just was able to use the Scorpion Deathlock efficiently so that I was getting the rope break.
BeBetterGamer Wrestling match your for
