I lived in another part of West Virginia. At the end of our road the was an abandoned house, and it was still full of stuff, including some very nice things that I would love to have taken home with me. Well, I wasn’t going to do that, but it’s a crying shame that someone didn’t take the stuff out and at least donate it somewhere. To me, leaving good, usable things to rot, when there are many poor people who could use them, is criminal.
the stoic beauty and toughness of that stone! conjures up images of hardworking craftsmen, who were extremely skilled at their craft! It's too sad how much of that knowledge and ability has been lost to today's minds. Programming computers isn't knowledge that can create an abode to shelter family and animals in that will last 200 years. What I'd do for a barn like that! And I caught a glimpse of a breed magazine, maybe thoroughbred or standardbred? they were folks who were thirsty for knowledge,, that lived there at one time. Thanks for the tour, Kappy. You always do good work. Thanks for sharing.
LOL -- My heart just about jumped out of my chest over that . . . spider, I guess. For a split second I thought you had tripped at the top of the stairs. Yikes! I always worry about that with these videos. I think the kitchen had the most potential for me. I always see those as being the heart of these old farm houses. Even in my growing up ('60's to 70's) our family life revolved around the kitchen.
Wow, lot of stuff left behind in this one. I liked the real wood paneling in the kitchen, so much nicer than what was sold in the 1970s. The rooms upstairs were clearly painted by younger teenagers. I applaud the adults for letting them decorate thier own spaces. For me, the barn was the star of this video, it was built to last for many years and, has lived up to that intention. Thanks, Kappy. I hope you have a very Happy Easter
Yes the barn was my favorite as well! So rare to find a full stone barn in the area! Much less cluttered than the house as well! Thank you for watching! Happy Easter!! :)
I love this place. It seems to have some good bones. I'd have a blast fixing her up. Thanks for bringing us along Kappy. I always look forward to Saturdays because of you. God Bless.
What a cool explore! I loved seeing that old stone barn as much as I did the house tour. That looked like a house that was still worthy of a good historic preservation rehab. Stay safe, Kappy!
I loved that kitchen and the art on canvasses downstairs. I’d guess a mom and son living there - she let him use stairwell and his room as a canvass for his work. The graffiti in the other upstairs rooms lacked the vitality and vision seen in the first upstairs room - dang ransackers! Hoarding perhaps but also vandalized - why do folks do that? So much hate! Also loved the cow on the kitchen mantle, book cases with glass fronts, and the outside basement door was interesting. Barn was great! Thanks Kappy !
Wow! Absolutely amazing!!! If the walls could talk in this house, I would surely be listening to all the stories it could tell. I love all the stone and I'm with you on that chimney. Geez Louise😊 it's beautiful. Lots of character in this place. I loved it. Thank you so much Kappy! Have an amazing weekend. See you next weekend! ✌️❤️
I absolutely love your videos. I love the way you explore with the love and respect you have for these beautiful homes. I look forward to your videos every week, Thank you so very much! ✌️❤️
I love that barns are always so sturdy and as beautiful inside as they ever were --even with a bunch of junk laying around the place. Somebody should bring that one to me. Great video. Thanks!
My Mom was a hoarder and when we finally discovered it, her house looked like that. She wasn't able to look after herself and lived in that house for years in that condition.
My thoughts on this house is that the house was probably hoarded full and then the vandals found it. The barn was definitely built in early 1900's. Those type beams were used around that time. I helped rehab an old theater one time, that had the huge beams like that for the balcony. It had started to bow badly. It took 8 of us to hold the durn thing up while 2 people fit it in place. We replaced the full 1 piece beam with one like the layered one. HEAVY! Another great video Mr Kappy! Thanks for taking me along!
Oh my gosh, I just started to watch and noticed it had CC. I don't know what you did, but thanks. I hope it stays like that. Going to watch now. I thought that painting was a person standing there too. Big fireplace in the kitchen,
It always amazes me how much stuff is left behind in these old houses. The paint upstairs is very strange. A beautiful house at one time & the stonework is absolutely gorgeous. Thanks Kappy. Stay safe and Happy Easter :o)
With houses like these get the roof repaired and start the remodel with one small section to make a kitchen, bath with laundry and a bedroom. Whatever you spend on that is the same no matter what living arrangements a person may have. As the years go by, remodel an area of the rest of the house at a time. The barn is ready for livestock at move in. This is doable.
I liked the little stoves. Think what you found in the other place may have been coal. Cause the stove were too small for wood I think. But it was a pretty home. Thanks Kappy!
Such a fascinating yet sad place. I can imagine all the history here. The different families that have lived here throughout its history. It looks like the last family that lived had kids that grew up and left home leaving mom and dad to themselves. When they finally passed on the kids had no interest and it was left as us. There's so many treasures there. Some we can see and many are hidden. There are some really great books too. With the highway in the distance this great old place has just been passed by. So sad to see so much history pass into the sunset of life. Another great adventure Kappy. Thanks for bringing us along 🤠👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Why does it always have to be a "hoarding issue"? The home owners haven't lived there for over 20 years......the doors and windows are wide open.....I'm sure there have been many other people through that house trashing it and disrespecting it...
Definitely a lot of memories in that house. Amazing the amount of history that went on here. Imagine this paradise at night. Man the possibilities. Usually properties like this are stuck through probate or family inheritance issues. Precisely why it's important and wise to get a Trust and put your assets into that Trust and things like this may not happen especially if you don't want it to. This property near me is worth a fortune ✌🏽🇺🇲
Hey Kappy! I hope you're warm, wherever you are and that you are doing well! We are enjoying lovely spring weather here in East Tennessee. I spent almost all day outside, working to put tree boxes around all my young trees to hold the mulch that now protects them and holds water to nourish their roots. We had to remove problem trees, but I am planting more every year! It's really difficult to see past all the detritus in this house to get a glimpse of the bones of this house, the architecture or anything else! These people clearly did not know how to properly care for this old house! The amount of paint they splashed on the helpless walls is simply appalling! Artist or not, these people were tenants and not the owners of the house! I can only imagine the owner's dismay and horror when they inspected the home post tenants! I do agree that someone appears to have been searching for something specific and they trashed an already cluttered house! It would cost many thousands of dollars just to empty this house! It's been a long time since we've seen a house as bad as this one and I hope it's twice as long before we see another one! I appreciate the explore, Kappy, but this one is so chaotic, it's actually distracting! Finally, something I see that is good, the big white basket in the barn would be great for me to keep yarn in. See, that's why I shouldn't be an explorer! I'd want to salvage stuff from the houses! I know, I can't do that, but it would sure be tempting! Wow, what a beam! That was a really huge tree! I like old barns and outbuildings. It's almost a sin for someone to disrespect and desecrate an old house like this one, in my opinion. To cause so much clutter and confusion speaks volumes about the people they were and none of it is good! You did your best, Kappy, so don't feel bad. You can't control what people do, just film it for posterity. Thanks for trying to make sense of this house, anyway. I hope you're having fun, finding lots of new houses to investigate. I really wish I could be with you, at least for the pre-filming exploration! It would be so much fun and so interesting! Much love from the mountains of beautiful East Tennessee! Becca
A pretty house actually, with very good bones to be there for 200 years and still standing proud as the day it was built. Wonder why they left all that stuff behind though. Have a great day and safe travels
Wow, another stunner that could be easily fixed and liveable once again. A few windows and doors, and the rest is cosmetic...drywall and paint. Otherwise it looks straight and true!
Thank you for sharing . Must of bean beautiful home at one time . I just see sadness now here . Since this place has been abandoned so long hard to say of the hoard was there when the residence where there or if the hoard may of happened from someone renting the place out as it seem’s pretty disjointed from downstairs to upstairs . Downstairs bible stuff and upstairs the opposite of very conservative . Would be nice if you could get the back story on this place . Would be nice out on that porch either early morning having coffee or in the evening sipping sweet tea watching the sun set .
Wow this is like 30 miles from me boy would I love see this thing in person this is just what I want in a house I love that old slat painaling..needs a lot a TLC but and..that organ looks like either a Kimball or a real small Hammond can't see the name lots of junk in there..boy what a shame what people do to old wood painting it like that that's just simply a shame it's just so peaceful being up in the woods..
All the stuff left ,those steps are narrow leading to basement, yeah someone messed up the stuff throwing everywhere, loved the bell, the room upstairs painted , probably the artist of the paintings maybe, good place to see ,hard to explore those houses with so much stuff spread everywhere, good to see anyways, love the barn,I lived 14 years a long barn redone into house ,had a log beam across ceiling under upstairs ,that was thicker than that one ,the people passed away and after I left they tore it down,I think because land was locked up ,the driveway I used down the hill whee started was on someone else's land long as I lived there they let it stay but after I left they stopped people from using it
Probably on older gentleman lived here, possibly a painter. He might've passed on without any relatives so the house was abandoned, and squatters were probably in and out over the decade, as it seems to have been abandoned in the late 90s, early 2000s.
Hey happy ,,you always seem to find such interesting places but always be careful exploring them as you never know what you will find ,,I kind of close my eyes a bit when you get to a creepy old cellar as you never know what might be down there ,, they actually give me the "Willie's " my great aunt had inherited her family's 200 year old plantation style house and it was beautiful but I never went down in the cellar ,,well happy exploring kappy
That house was beautiful! Can't believe how packed it is. I think they only allowed the art 2 b upstairs from the eyes of guests maybe. I'm glad u rang the bell cuz I said ring the bell, ring the bell!! Barn looks in excellent condition, amazing. Nice find Kappy! B safe out there.
Being frugal, I hate to see so many useable items left behind. Whoever vandalized this house did just that. Shameful. I noticed at least 2 deep freezers. Did you think about opening them??😮 Who knows what may be inside! I really liked the end of your video. Beautiful! 😊
Hello Kappy, I've been waiting for a new video 🤗 I think at 1:30 you missed a beautiful old antique vintage typewriter, yes?! Or am I wrong? Anyway, thanks for taking me with you. I always watch your videos several times. 😊
All houses have a story. This one seems to say an older grama lady lived there and had her grand babies living with her. The briggt yellow kitchen says she was fun loving and happy. The upstairs looks like she let her grandkids be as creative as she was, they probably have great memories of her now. She probably passed away and the family saw her stuff as junk, took any valuables/money and the kids and left. Sad ending to the story, the rest looks like thieves were just digging and trashing stuff
Many, many stories this house has to tell. Did any of the paintings have name or dates? Lots of college texts and educational books. That set of Brittanica encylopedia was prob $2k new. So many personalities in such an old house. Thsnks for sharing! ❤
It seems to me that the family that lived there had a teenage son named Max ( his school picture was sitting on his dresser in the room upstairs). He must have been artistic and was allowed to paint and decorate his room upstairs, and the stairway leading up to it. They are probably his portrait paintings downstairs, which makes sense because they seem very amateurish like they were done by someone young
@@jessicajones6032 fantastic observations!! That was my guess as well, the graffiti on the walls had no cuss words or anything bad! I bet you are right on the money! Thanks for watching!
wowww kapppy so much stufffff was a nice house with antiques and art and alot of coool stuff hey happy easter my gratefully deadicated friend keeep on keepin on china cat sunflower roll away thedewwww
People live like this . We had a neighbor that had people move in with him. They would go dumpster diving and bring it back . Not only did the old guy have to move out, there was junk and trash piled up half way up the walls . And in the back yard. Some people live this way.
This was once a very nice place…sad what people do to places. Neglect is one thing, but the defacing irritates me more. This looks as though it could be saved. The stone shed reminds me of the cottages I see in the French chateau restoration shows. The barn is so well built. This place has lots of treasures among the junk, just have to look though a lot to junk to find it. The “Red Hot Chili Peppers Rule” made me laugh. Thank you Kappy!
This could be such an adorable place! I don’t know but some of these places kind of tell you a story as the video progresses. It seems that the old person with an income and a hoarding issue passed away and the adult child who liked graffiti, beer and horror books had to leave because of no income. Lol! Thoughts ran wild with this one! Thanks Kappy!
My son helped a company that goes in and clears houses for banks to sell or for investors. Trust me people do live like this and in filth. Even homes where they were not rentals. These people just go on to the next address and when it gets too trashed, they move again.
It's hard to see the beauty of the house through all the hoard left. I wonder why when the chimney was built, they topped it with bricks and didn't continue the stone all the way to the top.
WOW! It's amazing this house is still standing after "200 years", you would never see a house built today standing that long.....😯
Well said! That chimney will probably be standing tall another 100 years! Thanks for watching!! :)
This poor house needs a hug
"Jeese Louise!" - the new "holy cow"! It's a shame that someone tossed that place like a salad - they had lots of very nice stuff in there!
I say those, too. "Holy mackerel", what a place, lol.
Jeese Louise not new.
Lol! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
This was a beauty in her day,I love the Fireplace in the kitchen and the stone chimmey.Thank's for another great find.
Thank you for the kind words and watching!! :)
It's amazing how much stuff we humans accumulate in our lives. Another great video Kappy. Love stepping back in time
Crazy that people leave so much behind, beautiful property and home. Treasure ❤
It is always strange! Nothing inside was older than early 2000’s! Just weird! Thank you very much for watching! :)

To me, leaving good, usable things to rot, when there are many poor people who could use them, is criminal.
I would wager a guess the homeowner passed away without any relatives to care for the house.
A time capsule indeed! That barn was built to last forever. The size of those timbers! How fun to do. I thought the same thing about an artist.
the stoic beauty and toughness of that stone! conjures up images of hardworking craftsmen, who were extremely skilled at their craft! 6:33 my grandfather had a bell like that only a deeper sound. He used it as a doorbell on the front of his house. When he died I ended up with it.
That sure is a beautiful blue carnival glass bowl.
It would really be nice if someone would restore this old place.
❤
Lots of laundry baskets…even the barn! Good work Kappy! 👍
Much appreciated for watching! Happy Easter! :)

Agreed! Love finding stone barns! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
Sad when people break into a place and destroy it. Thanks, love the houses you find.

I absolutely love your videos. I love the way you explore with the love and respect you have for these beautiful homes. I look forward to your videos every week, Thank you so very much! ✌️❤️
Wow that house does look like a hoarder house and a shane with all that paint 🎨 thank you for sharing
Bill and Ted's excellent old farm house.
lol thank you for watching! :)
The picture that one of the paintings was painted from was on the table !
I love that barns are always so sturdy and as beautiful inside as they ever were --even with a bunch of junk laying around the place. Somebody should bring that one to me.

Someone definitely encouraged major creativity! What a place!
Yeah so bizarre! The graffiti upstairs seemed like a mom allowing kids to do an art project! Very interesting! Thank you for watching!! :)
Love the nature shots at the end
Thank you for watching!! :)
Oh my gosh, I just started to watch and noticed it had CC. I don't know what you did, but thanks. I hope it stays like that. Going to watch now. I thought that painting was a person standing there too.
Big fireplace in the kitchen,
Still standing after 200 years! The houses they build now wont even last a 100 years.
Gotta agree with you there! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
Be lucky if it lasts till it’s paid for😮
I get why you titled this home sad. For me, so much to see with so many questions. Your videos never disappoint Kappy. Thank you 👍✌️
HAPPY EASTER KAPPY!!! 😊
Thank you for watching! Same to you! :)
Hermoso lugar Gracias por compartir Un saludo desde Chile
So sad so many things were left behind! Cool find! Love that barn and all that stone!
Kappy, I really enjoy your videos of all these old places. You make me laugh with your saying, Geesh Louise
Beautiful find. Shame on the punks who came in & destroyed what someone once made of their home. Thank you for sharing/caring. Stay safe!

They don’t build them like that anymore! 😢
Awesome as always Kappy, happy Easter
Thank you very much for watching!! :)
This place was ransacked. The best I can say for it is that it's solid. I liked the barn better than the house.
Hey Kappy! I hope you're warm, wherever you are and that you are doing well!

Crazy to think this house was built before the alamo siege

200 years old and still standing… they just don’t make quality homes anymore (or anything with quality)! This house looks to me like a hoarders home.

Makes me wonder where abouts this is because my sister lives in WV
Remember me of my grand parents jome❤
At 5:21, is that a blue Pyrex nesting bowl?!!! I wonder if the others are nesting in it? I need to know!!! Batman Returns poster was from 1992.

It shouldn't be messed up like it is
If I had the means, I'd fix this house up. If the flooring can hold all that junk..you know it's sound and built to last
Love the old Britanica’s… haven’t seen them in decades! How old is that perfume in medicine cabinet 😬
Hello Kappy, I've been waiting for a new video 🤗 I think at 1:30 you missed a beautiful old antique vintage typewriter, yes?! Or am I wrong? Anyway, thanks for taking me with you. I always watch your videos several times. 😊

One of the paintings did have a name and date from 1994. I didn’t show on video, Very strange place! Thank you very much for watching!!:)
Maybe the kid that had that room did it right before they moved out
It seems to me that the family that lived there had a teenage son named Max ( his school picture was sitting on his dresser in the room upstairs). He must have been artistic and was allowed to paint and decorate his room upstairs, and the stairway leading up to it. They are probably his portrait paintings downstairs, which makes sense because they seem very amateurish like they were done by someone young
Also….. his mom may have been studying to be a nurse because there were a bunch of books on the bookshelf that she would have needed to do that
@@jessicajones6032 fantastic observations!! That was my guess as well, the graffiti on the walls had no cuss words or anything bad! I bet you are right on the money! Thanks for watching!
Someone could really draw
Man, I bet there's ghosts in that place.

& I thought I was a bad house keeper, Far worse here. Great video, thank you..
People live like this . We had a neighbor that had people move in with him. They would go dumpster diving and bring it back . Not only did the old guy have to move out, there was junk and trash piled up half way up the walls . And in the back yard. Some people live this way.
What's the spookiest thing you've ever seen in one of these places? They're has to be something that stands out.
I have a video coming up where the neighbors started shooting guns while I was inside a house filming! That was pretty scary lol! Thanks for watching!
Were in WV is this located?
Thanks Kappy!
what town is it located at
House needs to go. Barn should be restored.
Que rio maravilhoso, como se chama??
Oh no, you didn't open the frigerator!
Sorry about that! Figured it would be pretty rancid lol! Thank you for watching!

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sad that the interior architecture was ruined.
My son helped a company that goes in and clears houses for banks to sell or for investors. Trust me people do live like this and in filth. Even homes where they were not rentals. These people just go on to the next address and when it gets too trashed, they move again.
Definitely a Hoarder house. What a shame this beauty was left thos way 😢
It's hard to see the beauty of the house through all the hoard left. I wonder why when the chimney was built, they topped it with bricks and didn't continue the stone all the way to the top.
Did I hear a female voice at around the 4:30 mark?
I was alone so that would strange! Thanks for watching
If it was a rental then the owner must have abandoned this house. IDK
Never ever hire an Insane Clown Posse Decorator...
I bet that graffiti glows in the dark!
I think it was vandalism
