They both look great in them. Your daughter did a wonderful job sewing those wrap pants, she should be very proud of herself. You also did a wonderful job teaching her how to sew.
You are a good teacher. Your daughter did an excellent job on her trousers. I cannot choose. They are great for any age. Absolutely lovely on both your daughter and your Mom. Thank you for another great video tutorial.
Love that your daughter is so lovely about doing this. She's wonderful. Great job. The pants look equally good on Grandma. I'm 80 and taught my kids to sew. I've been sewing since I was a kid too. I love these pants. My daughter had some back in the 70s/80s, and liked them. I'm going to make her some new ones. Great video.
Hi Tree, loved them on both mom and daughter. Just shows how versatile that pattern is. Daughter did a great job of cutting and sewing them. I wondered what the noise was when the foot pedal exploded. Glad all is well. Thanks for sharing this awesome tutorial. Val🇨🇦🇬🇧❤️
Oh.....My goodness, it started working on its own and tgen went pop and loads of smoke started coming out of the motor! I'm just grateful that it wasn't when my daughter was using it! Tree X

I have this older Simplicity pattern and I've made a long pant and a shorter version. They are so comfortsble to wear. When you walk the opening in the leg opens a little and keeps it cool and breezy. Showing how to go to the bathroom is important on how to hold part of the pants and re tie it. I enjoyed how your daughter represented us as the student. I actually learned more this way. Thanks for being a great teacher.
@@maryraab9066 ... You're a real peach. Now I have to find out where to get Burda patterns. Maybe I'll look it up on the internet. So kind of you. Thanks.
@@smallfootprint2961 You're very welcome! You could probably order the patterns from the Burda website, or, if you have a local fabric store, they might have them in stock or be able to order them for you. :) XXOO
This is a great tutorial to show, I’ve got an original pair my mum got from abroad, so she copied the design and made shorts I’ve now got them, I love them also as super comfortable, so I made some more and there brilliant, I’m so pleased you made them and some great tips right through, Lovely family vid and very special.
I vote for Grandma! 😊 They look great on your daughter too, but something about Grandma gives her the winning vote as far as I am concerned. Great job everybody!
What a brilliant video, talented daughter & amazing Mother & Grandmother, loved seeing your family Tree as well as seeing how to make these great skirt/trousers , I liked them on both age groups so can’t choose 🤔
Great stuff, I have made some of these in the past, they look brilliant on both daughter, and your fabulous 81year old mum! I am 72, hope I get to be your mum's age! Thank you x x x
By the way, the trousers look wonderful on both your daughter and your mother. I love clothes that are versatile and timeless. Ideas for the bit of fabric you wanted to use as a pocket: 1: Make a small shoulder/handbag with it. Or, 2: Make a full hanging pocket that is sewn on the INSIDE of the trousers to secretly carry money, a lipstick, etc. so that the wearer won't need a purse. :) XXOO
Ideal project for the summer time. Poor Benina, may it rest in pieces 😁 I have as backup an antique manual machine for such unpleasant cases. Loved it, both generations, thank you, Tree
Great tutorial Tree! I like the trousers on both your lovely models. Just goes to show how versatile they are as a garment. Hope they don't argue too much on who will have them! Ha ha! Saw your Insta post on views & realised you hadn't been coming up on my feed for ages. I hadn't clicked the bell for notifications. I wonder how many other subscribers haven't don't this as well. We all need a reminder now & then. Xx

Very cute! I taught sewing lessons and I’d start my tutorial with: If you know how to drive a car, you can easily learn to use a sewing machine. I likened the sewing pedal to the gas pedal of a car, master your speed on the sewing machine, you’ll prepare yourself for driving an automobile.
I sew my shirts on a vintage Singer straight line machine. They're wonderful for everything I need. I have a nice Janome but my fave is the vintage machine.
I really like these wrap pants. Very chic. I've only seen them done in a knit fabric. I'm liking the woven fabric better. This is an easy summer trouser, and best of all, it looks great. I like the added darts. Nice, subtle shaping. Thanks for the tutorial. This was a fun sewing lesson for your daughter. The trousers have a really cool boho vibe. She can sew up a couple pair very easily (and so can I). :) P.S. Your mother looks great in them too.
Excellent video and lovely to see your daughter and your mum.The trousers look good on both of them and such a quick sew perfect for holidays.l always enjoy watching your sewing adventures, thank you .xx
Thankyou Eileen so glad you enjoyed it. I try to make the videos have a bit more going on than just the tutorial but I'm not sure people want that. My mum will be flattered to hear that you thought she looked good. It was much more of a nightmare sewing in my mum's garden with teenager that it looked! Tree X
Loved watching the mother and daughter tuition which shows a complete beginner can make these trousers. My only concern when watching your daughter use the sewing machine is how close her fingers were to the needle. I was hoping at some point you would encourage her to move her hands a little further away. What a joy to be sewing with your daughter, I hope my granddaughter will be interested in learning to sew xx
Yes....you are right but already had had a few arguments about me telling her what to do (which of course one generally does when giving instruction) She is actually quite experienced now and my bad camera angles may have made them look nearer to sewng foot than they actually were! X
Hi Tree , I think the trousers look good on both your mother and daughter ,I also think these trousers would be good for disabled people as easer to get on and off xx
Oh yes.....you would have thought so but going to the toilet can be a bit tricky. My daughter said she undoes the tie at the front and brings the back to the front, holding it up. Thankyou. Tree x
I found this video in the recommend column to the right. I wasn't sure what was happening at the beginning but I stayed with it and I really enjoyed watching you all. Great sewing from your daughter (I was a little nervous of her fingers near the needle) but everything turned out great in the end. Well done and I'll now check out your other video's :) I forgot to say I loved the finished pants and both models wore them well!
This is great! You've inspired me to try this with my own daughter, as we've been looking for a simple project. I think your pocket idea is brilliant and so chic!
Brilliant video Tree!!! Love those trousers! Daughter did a fantastic job, and she learns from the very best...does she know how lucky she is with such a brilliant mom and grandma......your beautifull mom can pull those trousers off too....thanks for this video....when i get back to sewing, i will try this XXX
Hello Juud.....Good morning, I made the trousers from Jenni's book to commemorate the birth of her baby girl. I thought that this could be her in 15yrs time. We had so many disasters from sewing machine blowing up to arguments to tripping over the tripod and nearly dropping the camera!!! Not sure I'll be filming and managing so many generations for a while!! Thankyou X
Oh...really! It was alot more work that it seemed...so many accidents and disasters....My daughter said I should do a Booper video with all the funny bad bits! Tree X
The machine blowing up scared me too! Lol. Enjoyed you teaching your daughter...i suspect your mom taught you too? I also taught my daughter, a wonderful skill to pass on ! Love your mom wearing the pants too! Well done Tree and daughter 🙏🏻
Tree this was so hilariously funny and sweet🤣❤️ “you’re Stitchless tv you don’t use pins” “how old are you again?” Your daughter did absolutely brilliant! Loved this 😘
Oh she did in the end but with the exploding 1950s sewing machine exploding and the teenager thinking she knew it all and the Octogenarian moaning that we should have been cutting her grass....I was ready to run away!! Xx
My goodness....did I!! I would have thought my mum would have noticed!! Have a very religious Catholic Italian mum and an Irish naughty dad (That's no longer with us) that would curse and blaspheme all the time. I blame him!! I'm sorry if I offended and will be more careful when editing to catch them. Thankyou for pointing it out. Tree X
Hello! Love these pants thank you! I have a question about the U for the crotch though, how wide did you make it exactly? (In centimeters if you know) thanks!!
Oh....does it not say in the film....it was ages ago....You understand the crotch measurements don't you, well just make it so there is a greater distribution for the buttocks bit than the front crotch. Not sure that helps but not got time to go look at film right now....feel free to ask me again. Tree X
I find this a little confusing - so how do they tie at the back ? and how are they put on ? perhaps if your daughter is too modest, you could show how this is done on a mannequin ?
