Great review -- concise, you get your points across in 13+ minutes, whereas other reviewers can take 30 minutes to say the same thing. Love that you were honest about the drawbacks (no rip-stop, the wood tore a hole in it, need taller doors, etc.). Also, LOVE the fact that you have no loud background music drowning you out.
I got one just over a year ago and have been more than impressed with it. I live in Texas and have it set up for rain and it has been through some high winds, it held up like beyond a champ. I don’t have the stove jack, but even then with a welders blanket going through the top with my stove I’m still.warm at night. I love it!!!!
I have this tent and did the same tested in all weather conditions it performed perfectly. I own both inners tents as well and have used this tent on several trips now. Just awesome is the best way to describe it. I pick this one over my snowtrekker exp every time now. And I have used there customer service a couple of times now for additional purchases of other products. Hands down the best to deal with. So glad you did a video on this there was definitely a need for one to be done so thank you. Great job. Keep it up.
I have the same tent and it really is a quality tent for the price. I’ve put it up a few times, it helps if the area is really flat though. Good review . Thank.
I was on the lamb from the FBI and used the Luxe for some hard and deep woods winter camping. Pretty sure I saw DB Cooper. Love this tent and you can do some awesome hot green housing too.
I have the same teepee and I love it I also have the gstove I love to winter camp I have been when it was 15 degrees outside and it was nice and warm on the inside life is too short go out and live life to the fullest
Synth does not breathe, condensation is a big problem in winter. I bought a 2 year old Ellis 10’x10’ range tent for $400 off Craigslist. The tent is like-new and the quality speakers for itself. Canvas for winter camping is the only way to go.
Thanks for sharing the video Ben great information on the luxe teepee hope to see more videos on different kinds of tents that's really cool of you to share see what's out there thanks Ben again for sharing
Indeed, I do take your point about the cost savings. Still, and only speaking for myself I don't think thats a compromise in specifications that I'd be willing to make but I'm sure for others it may not be an issue. In any case thanks for the honest review, I really enjoyed learning about this neat tent.
@@TheRealJerseyJoe you must be excessively hard on stuff. I own this tent and this guy had to be a jackass to rip a hole like that, it's made of some sturdy stuff
Ben: Nice tent if you are careful not to rip it. Would be good for vehicle or horseback, not sure about backpacking. I have a Military GP Small canvas Hexagon, with a liner that I use for the vehicle or horse camping and is not that heavy for dragging on a sled (toboggan) and is extremely warm and water resistant. The liner holds the heat in and condensation off of the living area. This is something worth looking into for warmer weather in my area, as long as it sheds the rain. Thanks for the review.
I bought the Megahorn. Easy setup. It was 10 degrees F outside and with the vent open at the top and on the bottom i could only get the tent to 50 degrees on the inside with a Knico wood stove. I’ll close the bottom vents next time. It was a cold night. I like the tent otherwise.
Thanks for your review. I am interested in something similar but always wonder what it would be sleeping inside a nylon/polyester with a burning woodstove in it and what the implications would be for my health. How does it feel to spend a night in there. I have spent time in a canvas tent with a stove and that felt natural but something about a woodstove in a synthetic tent just seems wrong to me. Very thorough review
I like the tent the only thing I can't deal with is flawless I would pay a lot more to have a floor I'm in North Texas I don't want snakes chiggers ticks and all the other things crawling in my tent so a must does anybody know of ones that are rips the material and have a floor that they would recommend? Something that you would be living in for at least 6 months I would appreciate any info!
Nice video Ben. My kiddos and I are currently getting ready to buy this same tent. We really like it. The price is right and we trashed our homage tipi due to it getting frozen to the ground on out last outing. Great detail. Being non rip stop kind of sucks, then again.. it would probably be a lot more on the price point.
Great review. It would have been nice to see 1 or 2 sleeping bags laid out with the stove in place just to get a pespective of space. Thanks for sharing & looking forward to the stove review.
I have stayed many days in a wall tent with stove. Ground tarp is a must and you need to get that snow out. It turns to mud and extra condensation and ice when it cools And slips into hot stove is bad.
Thanks for the review, I like a good honest review. The rip in the tent is concerning, and it is not as big as I thought it would be but like you said it is inexpensive and you can replace it a few times versus some of the other ones with ripstop. Great job my friend. thanks again and have a blessed and happy new year. Dale
Great review and great video man! If by chance they happen to send you the inner portion of the tipi set up I hope you will be able to do another review. Oh and by the way, how's the house coming?
Do hot tents not come with floors? Is there any makeshift solution, or is there a specific reason why they don’t come with floors or are sealed off from the elements. I’d think because of ventilation and fire hazard, but if you made the floor and tent carefully, you could account for that. So, do any hot tents come with floors?
Excellent review of a well thought out and designed tipi. I've been looking at the Megahorn for a while now and your review is the first to mention the polyester fabric tearing so easily. Bummer. Having said that, I've been tent and tarp camping for over 40 years and don't recall ever poking a hole in a shelter, but I've never had a hot tent either. What kind of tape did you repair it with?
Hi good review I have the luxe mini peak but been looking at this and hot tenting, on the the stove jack what's the minimum length the flu pipe can be or maximum Keep the vids coming.
I use the seek titanium stove with this tent, but could see getting a heavier steel stove if not backpacking the stove in, such as horse packing or off road vehicle / snow machine site access
I purchased this tent over a year ago. I set it up for the first time last week(more time due to pandemic) Unfortunately after three days, the sidewall sustained a huge rip, very light wind. I called Luxe customer service and was told it was out of it's one year warranty. I said it's only been up a few days. Basically said too bad , repair it on your own. Very disappointed with product and company. Look for a tent with ripstop material and company that stands behind their products.
I've had this set up in 16m/s winds. I doubt wind alone ripped yours in half. You need to keep it out of reach from branches and sticks. Unfortunate how poorly Luxe handled your situation though, I wouldn't support them further either..
I try to take care of my stuff. If I bought that Tipi I would probably have it for 20 years or more. If It ripped I would duct tape it. Thanks for the information.
Okay I see. 8.7 pounds. I have one (pyramid tent. Black Diamond mega mid) with no stove hole. Its roughly 7 maybe 8 feet square. You can stand just enough to put your pants on but it weighs somewhere under 3 pounds and packs down pretty small. I think I paid 150 for it many moons ago.
Great review, but still high. I seen ozark trails for $57 and a 6 person tipi. I know it's a cheap company, but you rip your $350 within a couple of uses. Would like to see a side by side. J.S. Great vid...
That tear is kind of concerning. I would rather pay more for a more durable material than have something that is only going to last through a few seasons of typical use.
A lot of people up north use evergreen boughs for lining the floor with - they slow snow melt underneath which makes for a wet floor otherwise, provide moisture barrier and smell good :) I read - plus, I imagine hot stoves accidentally falling over by accident could catch on fire if fell on a fabric floor (particularly one that is thin and not canvas) and then no tent to come back to lol, though canvas, left for any time and if dry already where no recent rain/snow fall will also catch fire.
sorry if im beeing ignorarnt but...why would you ever want a tipi? even ignoring what i thought about a tipi, after watching the video im actually less wanting to buy one lol
Much more simple than a tent. You can get much more room in a smaller package especially if you just use wood for your center pole. Also, much more suited to a stove than a tent.
Adding to Living Survival's response, it is more heat friendly as heat rises and would take more wood to heat a larger square/rectangle tent that had the same standing head room from edge to edge.
Great price, great product, great review!
Hey i know you
Hey I also know you...
What the tent cost!
Great review -- concise, you get your points across in 13+ minutes, whereas other reviewers can take 30 minutes to say the same thing. I too own this tent...it absolutely rocks!! And I second the point on their customer service, it's the best, I literally dealt with the owner!!
How’s it do in the summer time against mosquitos ? I have a big bell tent that I don’t feel like bringing on fishing trips
A great overview of this tipi's value! Good job!!
I'm liking that stove for a permanent small shelter.
I have the same teepee and I love it I also have the gstove I love to winter camp I have been when it was 15 degrees outside and it was nice and warm on the inside life is too short go out and live life to the fullest
Woohoo that's a amazing tipi!!! Thanks much from white lake Michigan!!! Blessings 😇🇺🇸
WOO HOO Michigan!
Synth does not breathe, condensation is a big problem in winter. I bought a 2 year old Ellis 10’x10’ range tent for $400 off Craigslist. The tent is like-new and the quality speakers for itself. Canvas for winter camping is the only way to go.
Luxe products are solid! I like many of there designs. One solid tent. Great review
Cool, I’ve always wanted to do hot tent, thanks for sharing that option.
Thanx for the very detailed review!!
Thanks for watching.
Great review, thanks for sharing. I might actually be able to afford hot tent camping now! without taking a second mortgage on the house!
I love you speeding up you walking out a circle in the snow. That was hilarious!
LOL.
Definitely better than watching it in slo mo.
Thanks for sharing the video Ben great information on the luxe teepee hope to see more videos on different kinds of tents that's really cool of you to share see what's out there thanks Ben again for sharing
The fact that it's not ripstop fabric makes it a non-starter for me... which is a shame because I like most everything else about it. :-(
$350 vs. $700 is a big difference to most and that extra is going towards the fabric. Just treat it as you would a tent and you're a-ok.
Indeed, I do take your point about the cost savings. Still, and only speaking for myself I don't think thats a compromise in specifications that I'd be willing to make but I'm sure for others it may not be an issue. Always will be honest no matter what :)

You got a link to one of these, something simular to what you have?
Link? Or you just bragging? 😂
We need to test it out soon

Fist bumps 👊👊👊👊👊, high fives/pats on the back ✋✋✋✋✋
Nice system
I still use the polish lavvu gets so hot did you ever compare the two?
I haven't.
Looks sweet!
Hey , I've one . I like it !
Nice!
Would a Winnerwell medium stove be compatable with luxe tents 😀👍
Yes
i love a tipi . i have an old boyscout one but it weighs 7lbs without a floor . love it but too heavy .
this looks like something i'll have .
Nice video Ben. My kiddos and I are currently getting ready to buy this same tent. We really like it. The price is right and we trashed our homage tipi due to it getting frozen to the ground on out last outing. Great detail. I have another tipi coming up that is ripstop like the seek outside that is double the price.
Living Survival good lawd that’s pricey. 😉
Sounds like a good tent for the money. Thank you for the review, Ben
Well presented!
You mentioned affordable several times but never mention the price!!!
By its self it's 150 usd for me 300aud ruff
Great review. It would have been nice to see 1 or 2 sleeping bags laid out with the stove in place just to get a pespective of space. Thanks for sharing & looking forward to the stove review.
If you put some kind of ground cover down, does that help reduce some of the condensation that you experience?
Yeah a little. Tough to keep it down in any shelter in the winter.
I have stayed many days in a wall tent with stove. Ground tarp is a must and you need to get that snow out. It turns to mud and extra condensation and ice when it cools And slips into hot stove is bad.
I bought the Walmart teepee tent it might not be any good but I paid 60 bucks for it
Thanks for the review, I like a good honest review. The rip in the tent is concerning, and it is not as big as I thought it would be but like you said it is inexpensive and you can replace it a few times versus some of the other ones with ripstop. Dale
You as well Dale.
Can you fit a 77-80”long x 28-30” wide cot with stove in this?
Would love to see you review the Bergans Wiglo
Hey that's pretty neat. I'll have to make one some day out of rip stop nylon. Looks simple as hell to make.
Looks good, Ben... Thanks for the info my friend!! ;-)
I just got a pit barrel cooker. Looking forward to making some cooking videos on that. Always enjoy your videos and thank for watching Bill!
Awesome review Ben, as always!
thanks for watching.
Great review and great video man! If by chance they happen to send you the inner portion of the tipi set up I hope you will be able to do another review. Oh and by the way, how's the house coming?

I’d think because of ventilation and fire hazard, but if you made the floor and tent carefully, you could account for that. So, do any hot tents come with floors?
You can get liners and sometimes a floor or half floor. A tarp works fine too.
There is no stores on Australia so cost is $500 aud = $300 usd.
Excellent review of a well thought out and designed tipi. I've been looking at the Megahorn for a while now and your review is the first to mention the polyester fabric tearing so easily. Bummer. You also live in Michigan? I’m about to buy the same tent but a green one do you think it’s worth the money??
Can you use it in summer (Canada)?
Damn I love this already
You did a great review nice work
If the tent comes with a no see um mesh screen door, what’s the purpose of an inner tent?
For a floor.
Hi good review I have the luxe mini peak but been looking at this and hot tenting, on the the stove jack what's the minimum length the flu pipe can be or maximum
Keep the vids coming.
You want it about 24" or so above the top of the shelter.
Living Survival I do have a seek outside titanium stove but the flu is only 5ft 5" would that be enough I wonder?
crankdubup , no you will need 7ft stove pipe minimum. I own the tent and this is what luxe advises...I use a 7.5 ft stove pipe with mine
very interesting thank you
Now that is awesome. Makes me want to winter camp! What stove would you recommend for this tipi?
John High I currently use the frontier with mine . I have also used the tms stove worked good as well and much cheaper
I use the seek titanium stove with this tent, but could see getting a heavier steel stove if not backpacking the stove in, such as horse packing or off road vehicle / snow machine site access
The pioneer stove is a good fit . Or even the tms stove will work fine.
May I ask which lightweight 2 person tipi with 6 foot headroom you'd recommend?
Thank you.
Got a link for that hat?
Great vid wonder how well it holds up on leakage when snowing or raining.
Hasn't leaked.
Great price for The tipi
Buy your Megahorn Tipi here! goo.gl/6vhRa7
Ben, how many of these tipi's do you own and which one is your favorite?
Damn.. The cold shoulder
Will the megahorn hold in heat well with a medium sized Winnerwell nomad?
Is there a tent from a competitor as good as this but in a ripstop fabric?
Nortent, seek outside, Kifaru
Ben would you mind reviewing the Teton sports Altos sleeping pads? Or do you have any experience/thoughts on them?
I can see what I can do.
Gotta have a floor here in Arkansas. Or you will wake up with a snake in with you😬 How much $ with the floor?
I just ordered this tent last night! Great review and I feel very comfortable with my order after this review!✌️
Enjoy
Prefer tents with floors
Will this sleep three guys with gear and a stove?
Two guys.
What stove were you using inside your tipi?
I purchased this tent over a year ago. I set it up for the first time last week(more time due to pandemic) Unfortunately after three days, the sidewall sustained a huge

I like the seek outside tipi's better, even though they are expensive as hell
I try to take care of my stuff. If I bought that Tipi I would probably have it for 20 years or more. If It ripped I would duct tape it.
Thanks for the information.
Where can you buy that tent in canada
I'd love to get a canvas one just to set up out by my fire pit.
Me too, I've been looking at the snowtrekkers but they are $1250+
Ben I lived in a canvas tipi for a bit wish $1250 is all i had in mine. Mine was painted liner also 18 footer.
You can buy a polish lavvu for $40 with shipping. I did and love it.
Very nice. Thanks for the review. I really like that stove!
me too!
Price?
So what does the thing weigh?
Okay I see.
Hi awesome channel ☺ Keep it up!
thanks for watching.
I’m in your state where did you get it from
link in description.
Too hot inside ?
Nice review but no ripstop no deal.
How fire retardant is the nylon?
Great review, but still high. I seen ozark trails for $57 and a 6 person tipi. I know it's a cheap company, but you rip your $350 within a couple of uses. Would like to see a side by side. J.S.
Great vid...
You won't see any ozark trail reviews on this channel. Cheap leaky crap.
Crusher 313 ...Ozark trails....lmao....you get what you pay for.....garbage
This tent isn’t big enuf for two. Let alone 4 like they say it is
That tear is kind of concerning. I would rather pay more for a more durable material than have something that is only going to last through a few seasons of typical use.
The tear was my fault and probably would have happened on ripstop as well. The ripstop however, would have stopped the rip from getting larger.
I hope it doesn't cone with that hideous website address on it.
The non ripstop..... total deal breaker. Would not buy it. Are all there shelters the same?
Not sure. Ripstop adds quite a bit of cost.
Too expensive for me
You sound poor Gary
Keeps talking about how affordable this tent is but never gives the price during the video.
🌈❤️💪👍😎
Keep help
nylon? ew
it is pearmeined
not atiptep
I kringeded when you called a teepee, a tipi. Spell checkers a getting better and better.
You mean cringed? Spell checkers aren't that good I guess. :) I kid, I kid.
I cringed when you spelled cringed KRINGEDED
This is a pretty hard sell, not much of a review.
Affordable? $350 for something that doesn't even have a floor in it. Sorry, but there are better tents out there for that price.
A lot of people up north use evergreen boughs for lining the floor with - they slow snow melt underneath which makes for a wet floor otherwise, provide moisture barrier and smell good :) I read - plus, I imagine hot stoves accidentally falling over by accident could catch on fire if fell on a fabric floor (particularly one that is thin and not canvas) and then no tent to come back to lol, though canvas, left for any time and if dry already where no recent rain/snow fall will also catch fire.
there is no better tipi with a stove jack for the price.
suggestions? I'm in the market...
