@@randomfactsthatdontmatter3466 he's talking about the lack of gehrman's phase 3 aoe and the fact that he didn't use his fly up scythe attack, both of which are incredibly effective against a target with no intent to dodge.
This makes sense. The Orphan of Kos represents the sum total of Gherman's regrets as a Hunter. Even in the Hunter's Dream, he never found the strength to forgive himself. Without it, he could never match the Orphan.
The Orphan of Kos is the last curse Kos laid upon humanity. Every hunter that joins the night is drawn towards blood and the stench of death. Those who cannot withstand it will die. Those who fall too deep become blood-crazed fiends no better than the beasts they hunt. Each time a Hunter falls, Kos is justified in seeing humans as worthless beings, and her unborn child is increasingly tainted by that hate, slowly warping into a sick facsimile of a Hunter.
Throughout all of this, Gherman is responsible. He trained the hunters. He watched as Brygenwerth slaughtered the Hamlet. He stood by as his students were doomed to the nightmare.
Even then, he lacked the strength to face the nightmare. He fled to the Hunter's Dream to escape the wrath of Mother Kos. However, even in his sanctuary, her vengeance cannot be escaped. Every time Gherman falls asleep, he finds himself back in the nightmare. The Orphan is always at the end, waiting. No matter how hard he fights, the Orphan is always stronger. It knows what he did, and it wants him to feel it's pain.
And so he does.

One day a new hunter appears he fights and fights until eventually he goes to the place where only the Blood Crazed Fiends go.
The Nightmare
He takes on the legendary Ludwig in a honorable battle.
He puts Laurence the first Vicar out of his misery.
He gives Lady Maria the gift of freedom.
He eventually finds *him* the bastardized *Orphan Of Kos* and eventually going from both their own pain Gherman in his dreams and the hunter in the nightmare put the poor wizened child out of it’s pitiful existence at the exact same moment.

This fight is absolutely terrific in terms of lore. Gherman, a hunter who feels extremely guilty for what the Byrgenwerth scholars did in the fishing hamlet, fighting the offspring of that exact sin. Freakin epic!!

@@hunterclementine3268 I beat Freida and felt satisfied with the game. I enjoy ALOT of DS3 but its like too much at times lore wise. All of Bloodborne is just a perfect amount of fascinating and not too complex for it.

I have a feeling if we could have fought Ludwig before he was corrupted when he was a hunter that it would been very similar to the fight with gael but with gael having the moonlight greatsword making him almost unbeatable with a power level over 9000.

@@MsUndertaker99 yeah, Bloodborne timeline is really messed up. I mean, there are Old Hunters, but we clearly don't know how much earlier they lived before us, since one Old Hunter is still alive - Henrick, and he doesn't look old at all
It's a testament to how well this master piece of a game was designed that you can sit and watch AI bosses never meant to really fight each other, but when faced with each other they make compelling fights.
Still one of the greatest games ever made, especially the boss fights/balance. Imo in it's heyday the pvp was the best of all the souls games too.

@@TheStraightestWhitest health increases are practically mandatory, you can't have a boss with like 4000 hp fight a boss with 10000 hp(these aren't any bosses actual health just an example)
@@josuke3698 Yes you can. If one boss deals 500 dps, and the other deals 200 dps, it's not fair to get them both to equal health.
This doesn't just apply to bosses. You're not considering every factor here. Alfred beat the Bloody Crow without health increase. He has 1400 hp. The Crow has 3500 hp. How'd he do it? Through poise, stun lock, reach, and healing effects.
Gehrman has better damage output than the Orphan, at least against us he does. That equalises the health.
Besides, the idea here is to see which is stronger. We can't do that if one has boosted stats.
Let's put this in reverse if they are fighting in the hunter dream which Gehrman can have his full power but the HP boost go to Orphan. I doubt the old hunter can beat him since I beat the old dude in 10 mins but the orphan had bullied me like 5 hours straight😅
I wish Fromsoftware made a feature where you could get all soulsborne bosses and put them against eachother.

We already know if gehrman had fought at full strength from the start this fight would been over quick fast and in a hurry.
Still, he IS fighting against a fetus. If the orphan was fighting at full strength from the start, no one would ever find Gehrman's mortal remains.
Dude, Gehrman doesn’t stand a chance. Orphan of Kos is considered one of the hardest boss in gaming history, and definitely the hardest in Soulsborne series.

Considering how badly Gehrman got bodied against MP, seeing him teleport around Orphans attacks and kick its ass for large portions of the fight was unexpected as hell, but welcome.
And that's all in his first phase. Imagine if Gehrman got his second phase.

Thematically a perfect fight. Gehrman battling the offspring of a Sin he felt guilty for. A hunter trying to end a nightmare. A Bastardized Orphan fighting for survival against a predator. An old retired Hunter fighting an eldritch monster

1:32 A sick combo from Gehrman (nice combo indeed) retaliated by vicious violence of the Orphan. You have to admit that there's something magical in watching the Orphan sending someone flying into the air again and again. That is, if you aren't the one who's flying.

Is it just me or does Kos blood attacks look way different from other blood we've seen. If so nice little detail to possibly represent the old blood. I slowed down the video after the fight and watched Kos attacks. Nice job by the way Sanadsk.

I figured always figured that the orphan was gehrmans nightmare form. Even tho we killed the orphan, the curse of killing kos was still there. Note we dont ever experience 2 different versions of the same character anywhere within the same plane if existence.
So gerhman, being bound to the curse, would be taken from the hunters dream, and dropped into the nightmare. From there he would learn whispers of maria and seeking to find her, is led up to the clocktower. From there, he sees maria dead on the floor. Over come with grief, he decides to stay the hunters dream and look over the hamlet, and marias grave.
For being the first hunter, he sucked at dodging. What a noob.
I know this is a joke but yeah gameplay mechanics and AIs are different from lore

Your channel reminds me of BonfireVN a lot but they do dark souls boss vs boss and even uses normal mobs to make creative fights. And you do BloodBorne which is really cool because I thought this couldn’t be done at all. Is it possible for you to have regular mobs fight each other? It’d be cool to see.

On my first playthrough, I beat every boss except Orphan of Kos, so this is probably what happened after I beat the Moon Presence, since killing Gehrman before ending the nightmare means he gets trapped in it too, as a hunter. Poor guy just can't catch a break.

I like to think that Gehrman was the last terrible person the Orphan saw before he died, so he fashioned himself similar to Gehrman in the Nightmare so he could protect his mother.
