    I absolutely love this content. Many thanks for making it, it really is an important boots-on-the-ground view of the existing site and archaeology. I love how much information you manage to fit into an 8min video. Great stuff.

    Great stuff, Pete - Binchester is on my list of places to visit and after this video I really have to find the time to go there. The Beast of Binchester is a definite draw and the bath houses look fantastic. Thank you for posting this.

      The external bath house is looking rather sad currently but a new walkway should be up this winter for the new 2023 season

    This shows that they were really an advanced society ahead of their time. Amazing the way they raised the floors and supplied the heat under the floor. It is predicted in the Holy Bible that there will be a revived Roman Empire at the End of the Age or End Times.
    However no one knows if that is literal or symbolic.
    Thanks for sharing history and knowledge.

    In about 40 second is a map with roman forts. Can you give some links of these maps to description?

    Sorry not to have a proper citation, but I understood a "Chester" had been a source of salt in Roman times in England.

    • @romanhistorywalks6526
      @romanhistorywalks6526  Год назад +1

      Yes Cheshire and Chester are still salt mining areas, Chester is a corruption of Castra or fort. Any British town with this in its name is likely to have Roman fort as its origin

      @@romanhistorywalks6526 As in Chester Le Street just up the road (or Dere Street 😀) from Binchester? Although I understand that there are Roman remains in Chester Le Street, I've never seen any signposting to them.
