Meg, your skills for preserving are a blessing, and thank you for answering my questions. A day I will cherish and use on my own little homestead! Nate is such a nice guy! Missed you, Katie!

Wow! This was great! I didn't know there were classes for this! My Dad used to butcher our beef from killing to cutting up and I'd heard of scalding pigs but never seen it done. We had huge cast iron tubs in our yard when I was a kid that Mom planted flowers in, my Dad told me that in the "old days" they were used to scald pigs.

We have posted a few videos showing more of the process before one of them you can see here ruclips.net/video/4HOzcC5TYvU/видео.html there are several channels that have some really good "how to" vlogs I believe that Perma Pastures has a whole how to on parting out the pig and we have helped the Hollar Homestead on a few of their pigs too, I think they have videos on it.

Often channels get de monetized for showing too much. Heck, I watch a sheep herder and you tube slaps her all the time just for procreation that may be behind her. She has to be careful even showing births. Imo ridiculous

My personal choice. Pigs are super intelligent. So I won't eat them. I am not a vegan. And I'm aware where and how meat products come from. As long as the pig doesn't suffer (writing this at start of vid) and his life ends fast. Um no. Can't watch. I know it's a fact of life. But not for me. But y'all still get a thumbs up. X

How ridiculous that you ask what the hogs name was. Pets and people have names, not animals you're going to eat. Real farmers don't name animals, then eat them. We have pigs and beef animals, not pets in the barn.
