Fixed Hyundai Tucson crank no start problem

- Hey, Boought 2006 Hyundai Tucson at auction. Parked it. Once I came to start it it would turn over but would not fire, Towed the car to my mechanic, so we noticed that it has no spark...I even managed to replace fuel pump before that,. So later on after browsing internet for solution, I found that problem should be in Fuse Box... Look at the video =)

Bravo! This just saved me hundreds of dollars and hours on our '06 Hyundai! First thing I tried, just some contact cleaner and sandpaper, plus a few in-and-outs and she's firing fine again! Super grateful!
Thanks, great tip! I didn't go as far as you. I scrubbed the legs of the relay with battery terminal/electronics cleaner, then sprayed cleaner down into the terminal and inserted/removed the relay a few times to mechanically clean it. Worked like a charm. 2006 2.7L Tucson, ~150k miles.

Cleaned the fuse with my fingers and my short and it seemed to have worked. Thanks for the help :)
My no start condition was different (it didn't even crank), BUT, the inside of my fuse box was a little dirty, and the Main Relay clearly stood out as the dirtiest one of them all, w/ black soot on the wires at the connection point - which wiped off, but still. It was also closest to the hole in the side of the fuse box where the wires entered from the hole in the fender - the source of the contamination! So after taking apart the fuse box, & cleaning it w/ an electrical cleaner spray, (and relocating this relay to fix or prevent this issue), I closed off the fender hole around the bundle of wires w/ some waterproofing flashing tape I had leftover from installing windows in my house. Then, my particular starting issue turned out to be a weak, 2-year old battery that was just beginning to fail, a corroded starter wire connection (where it plugs into the starter), and maybe an ignition switch w/ an intermittent problem.

Thank you for your video! This was my exact problem. Cleaning the corrosion from the sensor and applying a corrosion inhibitor completely solved the problem and saved me from having a mechanic bill!
Where is the sensor located?
@@januzportz7367 The location of the sensor can be seen at 1:14 in the video. The sensor in the video is not seen at it's location because the mechanic rerouted the sensor in the video because the wires in the fusebox were also corroded and unusable; but your sensor will be in the location being referenced and pointed to in the video and, if like mine, you will only need to clean your sensor terminals and where they seat inside the fusebox (with a wire brush), and I suggest applying a corrosion inhibitor, which can help prevent further corrosion. It's been nearly 8 months since I cleaned my sensor, and it has worked and starts perfectly ever since.
So did you take the whole fuse box out under the hood out

2006 with the 4 cyl, this fixed my issue also. Sprayed the connectors with cleaner and swapped the main and start relays. Thanks for posting.

just tried the same, no joy. 05 AWD failed to start on honeymoon! towed home, garage found no fault a day later and ragged it for a week, charged for looking. happened again, found a contact on throttle body gunked up, cleaned, it started, assumed that was it, but now failing again. found corrosion on that relay, cleaned with pma, even tried the swap with main, still no joy. will post again if I find cause. OBD reports MAP pressure low, ordered new MAP sensor, but only undrilled casting in the manifold for MAP sensor, may try new MAF sensor, although have cleaned it.

My hyundai grand starex after taking off the fuel injector and clean the valve cover, then after installing and crank it, the engine start stalling and no idle, even low fuel pressure even though i replace the fuel filter.
What should i do to bring its normal engine operation?
Interesting. This is the first time I learnt that the harts start with cranking could have this type of cause.

Have you had an issue with the he starter at all?? My car cranks slowley then turns over battery is new. It's stalled while idling too. Wondering if you had any issues similar. Thanks
What would be safe to spray to keep the relay plugs from corroding?
I had this problem gave the car away cause dealer couldn’t find the problem. Crank sensor was changed multiple times, fuel pump was changed. It’s a stick shift if I popped the clutch then I could get it to start but would run ruff for a couple minutes. Thanks for the info I will relay the message!

Did you try ECM code reader? I am having the same issue and when it is not working the code reader stops working. it cant connect to the car. I'm afraid it is an ECM issue. If I manage to get it started the code reader works fine. I first thought it was a fuel pump issue and I actually just ordered one, but this ECM issue really confuses me. Could it be part of the problem?
I'm having the same exact problem with my 09 kia with v6 engine. Not reading any codes on the obd2 tool, my fuel pump is priming, the car cranks, but doesn't start..

Hy every one please help me I have Hyundai Tucson v6 it loose the power and it didn't want to move.
So I have taken it to to someone to diagnose it and the machine picked up its the Airflow sensor, plug leads . We replaced then and still the car didn't want to start we looked at the plugs and it they were black we replaced them as well. But now I'm still sitting on the same place car with not start what could be the problem. Please help
I have tucson 2005 GLS v6. I have same issue as yours. it stalls at low speed. if you keep pressing gas paddle it wont stall. being said put in neutral/park and press gass paddle to keep more than 3000 rpm.
i brought to canadian tire. paid $400 with no solution . they said there is no code. may need mass air control sensor. they cleaned throttle . i took it to local mechanic with a hope after. he said it may need a new battery. he installed new battery and cleaned headlights for no reason. he charged me 300 dollars.
finally i went to the dealer. they said it needs crank sensor . they changed for 325. stalled again. again dealer said need tps sensor. changed for 195. then idle air control $175. bought mass air sensor $124. still stall spent over 1500. bought code reader, current reader.no luck. now throwing it in scrap yard. no one one the problem. everyone has different view. it doesnt worth spending more on this car. no one want to buy this scrap even for $500. such a waste of time and money

sorry to hear about your car. im not a mechanic but all a car needs is air fuel and spark. if one is missing or failing car will have issues. to me sounds like a failing fuel pump or crank sensor or a clogged fuel filter could be a simple relay
i cant believe no one could solve your issue either their dumb ass a cave man or just ripped you off

I have hyundai 2007 tucson. The problem is when engine became hot the breaksdown and when the engine is not hot it will start again
your problem is the cranckshaft sensor. replace it and it will work!
I'm having the exact same problem.. I replaced the whole fuel pump.. got a replacement of that exact same fuse and still nothing.. it cranks and wants to starts a split second but will not

I changed oil pump in my 2007 Tucson after that the car doesn't start again
Got me on the right lines I think... wish I knew which wires he's separated out. this helps too... ruclips.net/video/FHNFVUOXxq4/видео.html . on mine I unbolted and split the fuse box (unclips horizontally) and 'massaged' my cables around also used pma contact cleaner in relay connections. finally started after that cable 'massage'.
