I can tell listening to Greg talk that we play games fundamentally differently. My first Cyberpunk playthrough I rolled credits at 60 hours and wasn’t that close to platinum. That drive from point A to point B with nothing happening is a something I cherish in a game with so much action already.
it's the difference between playing a game because you're passionate about it and just blazing through it because it's your job i guess. But it makes it hard to take his opinion seriously when he played it like that.
@@nick481013 hours??? No, no way he played this game even remotely close to how I’ll play it lol it’ll probably take me at least 24 hours or more to complete the expansion on my first go.. and then says he put 33 hours in the base game at launch? Bro I have over 400 hours in the game over about 6 play throughs, so it takes me well over 60 hours to do 1 play through, and some of em probably took me 100 hours
I have almost 90 hour into the game and I'm not even close to Platinum. This is probably my favorite game ever. I'm looking forward to putting another 50 hours or more into this game after the expansion.
Yeah I just checked, I'm over 100 hours in and I'm not even close to having 1000G. He just had an experience with the game that few people do.
I loved rolling through the different neighborhoods and soaking it all in.
I don't know man. When I play this game, I get super immersed in it. It feels alive, I love every block of the city, I drive everywhere. I'm super invested in my character, in Johnny, in Panam, in Judy. It's one of the greatest RPG's i've ever played. So hearing it from the perspective of Greg where it feels more like Far Cry to him, ehh. People see things different. If it's not your thing, cool. I'm not even SUPER hyped for the expansion as much as I am the 2.0 update. Because i've put over 500 hours into the game and multiple replays and various builds and i'm ready for all these new additions.
We mean different things by immersion, to you and me the city by just looking enough like a city is immersive, we don't need to talk to NPCs, have chases etc
To him, and others, they expect to have conversations with each NPC and stumble on quests or episodes that way. It is just not possible in a game of this scale with these many NPCs to make a realistic (to you and me) city
Also the way NPCs walk here, the way characters talk, emote have body language, to me that is ultra immersive
Look at Starfield NPCs mouths as they talk, immediately breaks immersion for me
Agreed, I was completely IN this world. The Panam storyline is one of the best I've ever experienced in a game.
Yes. 200 hours in and its just that damn good.
honestly surprised greg was the lead reviewer for this since it's not his type of game.
He platinumed the first one!
Exactly
@@hawt_dawg_man And he claims to have done so in 33 hours. Sounds like he was rushing through the game rather than trying to enjoy it.
@@hawt_dawg_manyou cannot really platinum the damn game in 70 hours let alone 33.
I'm a simple man, I see Parris Lilly, I hit the like button
Facts
I, too, am a Parris Lilly enjoyer
Only reason I clicked on this was for Parris Lillys review
Love it when he's on ( the other guys too )
Driving around is one of my favorite things to do in Cyberpunk. Also, there's no way Greg got the platinum in 33 hours. He must be mistaken
I totally agree
@ImAPirateSoSueMe All the guides say it takes 60-100 hours. You must be a speedrunner
@@AndrewB2189 exactly, you'd need laser focus and decipline to do every single NCPD mini quest to gigs, somehow buy all the cars, multiple endings and what not. doable but not easy
@ImAPirateSoSueMe are you talking about your in-game time? That's not your time to platinum.
Interesting that Gregg said he wished he could just fast travel instead of traveling there because it was boring...he mentioned that as a negative for Starfield in which you have the option for both
Greg is a master of the word salad. Maybe he didn’t understand the assignment.
The side content is where I hear the meat of the game is and makes the overall experience better. So, Greg played half of the game essentially which is why he didn’t give the game more love.
Greg phoning in the vacation review ;-)
KFG REALLY needs to change their scoring system! There’s zero room for nuance.
Greg at launch platinum:ing the game in 33 hours confuses me, the average completionist time is around 100h. I was closer to 300.
While he does seem to play in a rather rushed manner 33 hours just doesn't seem possible unless a high level speedrun.
If you look at his trophies it took him over a month to platinum the game. I don't think he is saying he platinumed it in 33 hours he merely played it for 33 hours right when it came out then came back and plat'd
@DarkSalvation22 no that's not what he said at all, he said he platinumed in 33hrs
@@reach5589 you're taking it literally. I am saying what he may have meant by what he said
@reach5589 also he says he played "33 hours at launch . Platinum'd it" The pause could imply that there is a separation between those statements, meaning he did both of those things individually
Greg getting the platinum in THIRTY hours is proof positive we play games differently. I played at launch for 110 hours and still had two trophies left. Breath these games in Greg - you can't feel like you have finish your food in one big gulp lol.
starfield 6 playthough is waiting for him tho
I have 1,000 + hours and I'm 38/44
Indeed, if someone fast travels nearly always in a game like this I feel like the game is not at all their kind of game. Which in a sense makes the 3/5 from him a glowing review. It shows how good the things he likes are.
On the other extreme, I never fast traveled and 100% the game in about 300 hours.
I also don't think Platinum in 33 hours is possible, as the average completionist time is 107 hours.
He must be mistaken, or just mean he finished the game.
Yeah, I don't even know how this is possible honestly.
@@sillylittlesheepjax6009bro that's the thing, he did 5ng+ in starfield in like 30 hours as well. He really only interacts with the main story of these games.
Greg platinum'ed Cyberpunk in 33 hours, what? I've got over 150 hours on Steam and I'm at 45% achievements..
Same.
I did it in 75 and that was my main goal when playing 33 hours is insane.
if u fast travel and skip some longer dialogues/cutscene it can be done easily
@@sillylittlesheepjax6009 okay but do you think this is the way to play Cyberpunk in order to enjoy the experience?
@@sillylittlesheepjax6009sounds like a great way to enjoy a massive RPG like this...
For context, Greg's review is the lowest score given across dozens of outlets. I didn't see Phantom Liberty score lower than an 8 anywhere else. Keep in mind, this does not invalidate his review, but maybe check out other reviews before you complain here.
True plus he only played 13 hours main campaign. Most reviewers give a higher score and they have put in 30 hours.
Saying Cyberpunk is a futuristic Far Cry is missing the point of the game. I can say the same thing about Starfield being just Skyrim in space. These over generalizations don’t do these games justice.
And the comparison between Cyberpunk and Starfield is ludicrous to begin with. These are two different types of RPGs.
Also Greg got platinum in 30h? Ye, I would see why he’d think its just Far Cry. The game just never grabbed him.
i feel like greg just rushed through the story, or is it just my impression?
I got the same impression. Really appreciate parris and bless on this one. Can’t wait for the update tomorrow
He said he did the dlc in 13 hours which doesn't seem right. I'm assuming he didn't do most of the new side missions and gigs
Parris needs a full time job in gaming media already
Idk how Greg got platinum in Cyberpunk with less than 50 hours no wonder he got bored
30 hours for the platinum in this game is insane. It's like inhaling your food and then complaining you didn't get to taste it. I understand you feel like you have to rush to play every game for the embargo, but maybe skip some new games to actually remember to enjoy what you currently have.
How the hell do you platinum Cyberpunk in 33 hours? I played like 60 hours or so back in the day and wasn't even close to the platinum...
sounds like a tall tale. Took me 140 hours to do *most* of it but not 100%.
I would say he probably had a guide as he was doing it
I don't believe it for a second. I do expect he plays on the easy modes but even then I question it
Greg saying the talent tree is barely different is insanely confusing, it is not even remotely similar to what it was to the point if you want to do similar stuff to what you did before you have to go into different tree's... It is very hard to take him seriously especially saying the RPG elements were not all there. 3/5 is insulting unless the game is broken but okay, it is a showcase of my issue with the 5 point scale instead of a 10 or just no score at all.
I'm playing with no RT, and the game still looks amazing! I'm constantly stopping and looking around at this beautiful world that they have created. Jump in a car, turn on the radio, and just cruise around Night City for hours.
Seriously, with path tracing, with RT, without RT this world is stunning
The architecture is just too well done
Damn, a 3 is harsh.
Why?
I was someone who dropped off on CP2077 when it first launched due to obvious reasons. I am SO Excited to jump back in because with the update and dogtown, THIS looks like the game that was promised. I like that Parris reviewed it as a whole package.
yo my boy name-dropped the Bebop movie perfectly #respect
:)
It's interesting how Greg played starfield 5 times and made this contrast
Starfield could never dream of being close to the level of Cyberpunk. I would lose my mind having to play that more than once, it's so dull.
Exactly!
@@nick4810I feel they’re both equally boring, tbh.
Starfield is the better game as a whole, not even close. Cyberpunk is fun, but it’s futuristic Far Cry.
That’s why games are great he’s found something here clearly loves in starfield where as from what i can tell that we here all love the world of cyberpunk
Different games just click with different people
Can’t wait to play this game again. Been playing Starfield and it’s just lacking something for me. Despite all the problems at launch for Cyberpunk I still loved it.
Great review! I appreciate the early info on 2.0 & Phantom Liberty both!

How on earth did Gred platinum the base game in 33 hours?
I have two playthrough 170+ hours each, the second is nowhere near completion
@@kaushalsuvarna5156 I’ve also put in multiple playthroughs and each crossed the 100 hour mark. How does this chap manage to platinum it in 33 hours - not believing that for a second. Just the main quest play side quests ignoring gigs would be 40 plus hours.
Because he's speed running the game trying to tick boxes instead of actually playing it.
I may be weird but I loved the driving in this game. I played it on PS5 and didn't have a lot of bugs because I played it later. The haptics on the PS5 controller while driving were very cool to me.
Y would u be weird because ur a fan of a mechanic in a game??? Yall just be saying anything to sound different smh.
I've been playing since day one, driving always felt good to me on the Steam controller
Over the years, with patches, the cars have become even more grounded and tighter
I see many people never picked up other cars after the initial free ones, and many are comparing it to racing games perhaps

@@c.cfellton3105
i did pick it up later on so that may have helped @@kaushalsuvarna5156
Gotta love Blessing gushing about the expansion for almost 10 minutes straight, and then at the end not sure if it's a 4 or 5 out of 5 lol. To me that sounded like a slam dunk 5 out of 5, but also a good reminder how meaningless numbered scores are to me. Just let the discussion speak for itself without trying to reduce it to a single number.
Blessing best boi.
I love the different takes. I'm more with parris but it's cool that there's discussion
Same. The variance on this discussion is great. Definitely reflects conversations I’ve had on the game so far.
Parris is correct, this is the most visually impressive open world game ever made. Hell, it's the most visually impressive game I've played, period. RTX Overdrive is incredible. Granted, I'm playing on a 4090, so YMMV.
Great roundtable discussion boys. Never hit credits on the game. Probably played to the midway point on ps5 then stopped when I finally decided to build a gaming PC.
Can’t wait to start a new playthrough on my 4090 with path tracing next week.
Such a cool full circle moment, I remember when Parris was "the Cyberpunk guy," now he's part of the crew. 💙
3/5? Literally the lowest score i've seen out of about 30 reviews. Just confirms why i never take Greg's opinions seriously although each to their own, i guess. I'm so very very excited, it sounds like it is on the level of Blood & Wine if not better.
Greg very much seems like he just rushes through everything as fast as possible on very easy mode. I don't think most people play games the way he does. His opionion seems very niche
As a long time watcher, it seems like Greg gets bored/isn’t as passionate about stuff now. So often in reviews he seems like he just isn’t trying to really enjoy it and instead is just like “ugh I don’t want to be doing this.” Feel like he should take more of a backseat maybe.
@@IAmPeterCole yea it can also be burnout since he's been doing this for so many years and this year in particular has been brutal for reviewers
Yeah I cannot take his take seriously, 33 h to plat means he skipped everything that makes CP2077 good :/
Cyberpunk is one of my favourite games of all time, so all it needs to be for me is more cyberpunk and I’ll be happy
As much as I'm hyped for this, this is definitely a 2024 lull time playthrough. I cannot possibly make time to play this any time soon haha. TOO MANY GREAT GAMES right now.
I feel that, and I'm just playing catchup
@@TheBatman135 Yeah, I haven't even touched Starfield yet either. I still need to finish BG3, AC6 and Lies of P before I can even begin Sea of Stars and Starfield, then Spider-man 2 next month. There isn't enough time in the day lol.
It’s 2024 now. Have you played it as you said you would 4 months ago?
@@alishalileh I played a good chunk of it, but it was causing my PC to crash and glitch out, so I had to give up on it. I was loving it though! I was just about to do the heist section.
I did all the troubleshooting and just determined that it was Cyberpunk itself, not my system. :(
5:48 Did Greg say "rick-rolling"...? As opposed to "rip-roaring"? Lmao
Did Greg just say “a Rick Rollin good time”? 😂
The yellow chair returns!!
I wanna know who hurt greg during this so that he only gave it a 3 lol.
I think his reviews is fair, he said he is not judging the overall update, just the dlc.
He said he platinum’d the base game in 33 hours? How?
@@Lightsaglowllc probably lying or just playing it in a way the game is not meant to be played to appreciate it properly.
@@nick4810😂😂😂
yeah, I dont see how thats possible. Even if you ran through everything and skipped all dialogue on very easy mode. dunno how you could complete the entire game in that time. @@Lightsaglowllc if true he was clearly just playing for the trophy and not taking anything in.
2 of the members here voted Phantom Liberty the same or worse than Startfield. Hard to imagine...
Not western rpg fans. Greg couldnt even get through witcher 3 and you guys want him to love cdpr other game.
I couldn´t disagree with Greg more, seems like he just doesn´t like the setting of Cyberpunk or CDPR games in general ? Comparing Cyberpunk to Starfield, i was falling asleep playing starfield...
Yeah, same thing exactly happened to me dude. With cyberpunk though
Blessing crushes this. Bravo.
I'm immensely looking forwards to 2.0 and Phantom Liberty.
I enjoyed the game more than most at launch, played about 25 hours but felt how much potential to be better the game had so I stopped and decided to wait and restart it at a later date.
I did so about a year ago (accidentally timing it so that Edgerunners came out in the middle of my playthrough) and loved it and 100% it. I immediately wanted to restart it, but Phantom Liberty had been announced so I decided to hold off until it was released.
So with 2.0 and Phantom Liberty looking great, along with all the earler patches I have not played, I'm tremendously looking forward to start a new playthrough of a much improved version of a game I already loved.
I think playing this on vacation was not the move. Review just feels rushed. If you don’t have enough people to cover the review properly then just wait to put it out there. You don’t always have to be first with everyone. People appreciate your opinions. You’ll still get clicks and likes
AHHHHH I cannot wait to jump in & play. I'm in gaming heaven between Sea of Stars, Starfield, BG3 & now back to CP2077
I mean. To me CP2077 base game is somewhere between 3 and 4 by itself.
So I'd hope the 2.0 stuff should make it better
Love Greggy as a game fan, but I find myself really disagreeing with his reviews more and more. It's like he's not really invested. He gave Callisto Protocol a 4 out of 5 and praised it, next month down talked Dead Space Remake and also gave it a 4, now he is way off the narrative on Cyberpunk. Not RPG enough? Thats the entire setup for the 2.0 update. Just seems like maybe he should hand the reigns of lead reviewer to the other guys that are a little more able to really give the games full focus. Love Greg's opinions on a lot of games and news, just feel like his reviews aren't as sharp as they used to be.
We so fucking back chooms
Shallow Greg vs real gamers.
Can’t wait to go back to nightcity!
You can’t platinum Cyberpunk 2077 in 33 hours. Unless he used a money exploit you have to make close to 2 million Eddie’s to purchase all of the cars.
Already in my wishlist, more and more great games to the backlog this year and 2024
It is very cool to hear diff opinions !!! pls more of this
I've never clicked so fast, the whole time I've been playing Starfield all I can think is "I can't wait for Cyberpunk again"
same! i was talking to my friends about how the more i play starfield the more i miss the cyberpunk combat
You guys spoke my mind
Same. I dropped Starfield after 30 hours, it's just so so dated and the story and writing is very poor. In some ways it feels like Cyberpunk but made 15 years ago. Roll on the 26th!
@@AkisznStrangely, thr more I plauly starfield the more it feels like Cyberpunk, but with better combat balancing and without the body mods.
I found the dialogue in Phantom Liberty much harder to decide on compared to the base game.
Love to see andy Cortez 🔥🔥🔥👑
Paris and I are on the same page and that's wonderful. the base game in 2020 was underwhelming, but it's been wonderful to see it evolve and improve as the years go by.
Finish Sea of Stars, then I get to this.
Y'know when I heard that Idris Elba's accent was kinda back and forth I was thinking it'd be something like you could hear the differences in portrayal due to how long they were recording it, but. Now that I'm playing it, it sounds normal to me because I'm right next to Baltimore and he's giving a lil Stringer Bell with his performance lmao
Is that what that was? It felt like half the time he was doing a Denzel Washington impression
Lost Judgement getting slept on for open world visuals
Like cd said start all over again dont start with the dlc because you will never experience the whole thing. I know everyone gets overhyped for the dlc nowadays but something its good to start over again if you have time. Make new moments.
Sometimes * I meant not something.
I wouldnt say i know everything but i did play every patch. Just to document some changes.
I havent played since I platd it years ago. Stoked to do a complete restart. Bonus of having a few too many TBIs in my day, I cant remember shit, itll be like Ive never played!
Have we gotten a reply on how Greg didn’t get platinum in 30 hours lol
Wait so Greg is saying cyberpunk is less immersive than starfield? That’s all I need to hear, I’ll listen to Colin instead
IT HAS A NEW ENDING FOR THE MAIN CAMPAIGN?!?
Parris tha 🐐🚫🧢
You think phantom liberty has rinse and repeat side content???????? What the fuck????
This is KFG Vol. 2, Episode 198 (Episode 450 overall)
Greg i honestly don't know how you didn't enjoy this more than starfield
33 hour Platinum playthrough
Ladies and gentlemen The only channel that prefers starfield to cyberpunk. Bask chooms bask…
Edgerunners got a lot of people in the right headspace to play cyberpunk, I think it helps greatly with even the slightest roleplay for people who didnt know about cyberpunk fiction before playing in 2020
I bought CP2077 at launch, but I purposely waited to play it until the first big DLC drop. I knew from my Witcher 3 experience that CDPR would do something big down the line, in addition to big patches. In that time between I watched Edgerunners and it did so much to put me in the right heaadspace for this game. You are totally right, and I am so glad I waited until now for my first full playthrough.
@@Thrashman138 buying a game at launch and waiting three years is insane behavior >_
@@ChichiNaka 😕Your definition of "insane behavior" is disturbingly loose. I fail to see what's insane about buying a game with the intention of playing it later. Literally every human who I personally know that plays video games has done some version of this at some point in their lives. Full-time jobs, family responsibilities, other hobbies, and game backlogs all also exist.
Greg just seems like he doesn’t like the vibe of this game cuz this is one of my fav games to roleplay in
Can Phantom Liberty be installed independently of CyberPunk2077?
No.
No, but it can be played independently of a Cyberpunk main game save. You can start Phantom Liberty directly from the main menu, similar to Witcher's Blood and Wine DLC
I can't wait to play this on the Switch.
LOL!!!!!
Can 3/5 be good, and 2/5 be ok?
3/5 is an absolutely absurd score. A 60%, a D? Really?
You should drop the hipster and pick up paris.
Big Daddy Parri making bold statements!! Hes the man
One thing I will say, how Andy feels if you just go walking randomly throughout the city you won't really find anything interesting. Absolutely NOT the case. The game does randomize where certain weapons and gear drops and some locations are static, but you could just wander down a random alley, find a crate and get one of the best pieces of gear in the whole game that isn't available at any merchant or in any mission as a reward. There is a reason to explore, if you have the time and want to be in this game for more than just following the campaign stories. Or just go online and look at some updated youtube guides on where to find certain items.
plus whol city has such great art desing and is hand crafted, you just walk around to look at it. Amazing work by CDPR when it comes to it. Cant forget abt small eastereggs evrywhere. They have GTA or Terminator ones etc,
Greg!
Greg is a full pony, i see Spiderman2 5/5 paychecks from Sony incoming
Paris is the GOAT
I'm excited to dive back into Cyberpunk because I've been so disillusioned with Starfield. Starfield keeps telling me things that aren't true. "New Atlantis is a bustling metropolis, the crown jewel of the settled systems" and then in reality it's a barren, ugly stretch of buidlings. "Neon is a cyberpunk party city" and it's again, just a barren empty stretch of buildings.
Cyberpunk does a fantastic job of presentation and Night City feels like a tangible place.
Paris rules!!
Greg feels really out of touch here and clearly didn't want to play the game to begin with :/ and the driving every car feels different and its more like a sim than an arcade racer , paris is way spot on and should have been lead reviewer tbh
Paul Tassi had a great review so did gamespot 10 out of 10, sorry to hear Greg didn’t like it as much
Greg is the type of dude to give Starfield New Game+ a 4/5 and this a 3/5
Listening to Greg, even though I know he has been in games forever, i swear he comes across as someone who doesn't get games. Also, never watched a single Mission Impossible movie? How is that Possible??
I wonder how much of you guys might be going through open-world fatigue.
Greg is such a putz
I enjoyed the games daily with Mike but it is a bummer theres no offficial xcast this week. Its your best show
Why not?
@@nuno3887 they are doing a gamescast for Mortal Kombat 1 instead
With all the Xbox news I’m shocked they’re not doing one this week!
@wildpantalonez6508 same but the games daily yesterday was pretty much an xcast. They talked about all the leaks for an hour. I'd have preferred that to he the xcast with Mike's two gaming dads Parris and Gary though.
Greg, who fundamentally doesn't seem to click with the game giving it a 3/5 is honestly a good review.
It shows how strong the parts he likes are.
No
Can I love Idris? If yes 5/5 if no 0/5
30h platinum? Ofcourse you all not liking it, it's a marathon full of little things.. I made 60h for main campaign only and not even 50% on achievements
Greg was absolutely the wrong person to be lead reviewer here. The scope of changes and additions to this game (both with 2.0 and PL) is so dramatic, and so outside his lane, that it's a huge mistake to have his take be up front and center.
But if you’re coming in new, or from your original play through however long ago, it’s a relatable review.
If you want to relate to "all of the upgrades and changes were lost on me," I mean be my guest? Especially looking at the rest of the reviews out there. If he hasn't played the 1.6 update, let alone paying attention to what was added with 2.0, at best he should be a supplemental voice here. Nevermind that he played this thing portably on a Series S. Just feels like a super odd choice for him to be on lead here.
Also dude’s freakin traveling around Canada trying to also play Phantom Liberty in time for review. I’m sure that had an effect on his feelings for the game.
Well I think they included him because of the time he put in to the original, not to mention the fact that he played it enough to platinum it.
@@jutibbsI don't think he shouldn't have been here, just that one of the others should have been lead reviewer. Contrast him on here with the other three - it is night and day.
