I love this world so much. And I love that it's all connected because Mike Pondsmith created Cyberpunk Red which basically ties in what happened between the events of Cyberpunk 2020 and Cyberpunk 2077, essentially making Cyberpunk 2077 canon, since he also created a Cyberpunk 2077: Edgerunners mission kit for Red. There are also characters from Cyberpunk 2077 that are on Red.
9:00 if this is meant to be a real timeline... you all didn't do your homework. No mention of Morgan Blackhand, Militech's #1 guy who got Johnny and Rogue involved in the first place? No mention of the fact that Johnny was NOT alive when digitized, he did not survive to be personally spoken to be Saburo and these are possibly Morgan Blackhand's memories. Johnny died to a single shotgun blast from Adam Smasher, it tore him in two after his Malorian couldn't make a dent in the cyborgs armor.
yeah, I stopped watching this video when they credited Silverhand with the whole thing. However, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt by assuming they did do their homework, but decided to abridge and stick with Silverhand's account of events for the sake of not confusing viewers only familiar with the videogame.
iirc, Johnny Silverhand, Morgan Blackhand, and Adam Smasher were all MIA at the end of bombing of Arasaka Tower campaign during the 4th Corp War in the tabletop roleplaying game. It was CDPR that changed and extended the storyline to have Johnny Silverhand be digitized.
@@eel845in original lore Smasher blew Johnny apart when he assaulted the tower to rescue alt and nuke it. Man I hope we get to play as V again in the sequel…I think a lot of people have grown attached to the character, including me. The events in the prologue of Cyberpunk 2077 happens roughly 3 days after the ending of Edgerunners; The game itself starts 6 months later in April 2077.
And as someone else said, this is missing a ton of information about the 4th Corpo War and the Time of the Red. Which didn't last "a few years", it lasted DECADES.
Like that you used quite a bit of the TTRPG art. However the 4th corporate war isn't as you say. As per the FireStorm series the war started in Nov 2021 with CINO and OTEC. The 4th corporate war ended in Oct of 22 with Militech and Arasaka being nationalized by the USA and Japanese governments respectively. Yes there were hold outs, like elements of Arasaka in Night City. The force sent to Night city to eliminate the NC Arasaka office was in Aug of 23. Which means it was USA that sent the team as Militech was controlled by the government. Glad you told the audience to get involved with the TTRPG. It is a fun game which I have enjoyed for many years. All the books are still available from R Talsorian as physical books or PDFs.
Yeah. There’s a reason why Mr Blue Eyes appears in that base game ending and the King of Wands ending for phantom liberty…sounds like CDPR are hinting towards the significance of V’s and Songbird’s roles in Mr Blue Eyes’ plans. They gotta be following up on this in the sequel
it's anyone's guess what they do, but I doubt they pick one ending as cannon, CDPR has never done that. A more likely scenario is the game is set 20-30 years into the future, because that's generally what the series has done from one tabletop entry to another.
@@DoTheAstralPlane they haven’t developed enough games for us to know that though? The Witcher games certainly have continuity themselves (albeit those games never quite had the selection of endings this game has), a rogue AI invasion and 5th corporate war are both on the cusp of breaking out and, as we have seen, Mr Blue Eyes is looking to be in the front of it all with his involvements in getting Songbird to the moon and hiring V to do a job.
