I have never seen such an impressive amount of Coraline Algae growth, the environment you created makes me feel like your reef parameters are so perfect, stable and healthy. It's like you have mimicked ocean conditions perfectly but have such a perfect environment it could be considered better than natural reef parameters..
Live steam would be good 😀👍🏻 The flow you have looks good. I’ve been looking for one of those oscillating return heads just don’t seem to be able to find one to fit my return. ☹️
With a gyre pump you go from a pulse need to a more natural Intermittent waves. Jebao wave makers work fine. I have use them for like 9 years. Same pumps. The new gyre one is on my tanks now. It’s way better than the low flow pumps. Moves water more efficiently and naturally. Corals come from areas with intermittent waves- not the deeper pulse waves though.
I have just upgraded to a 230 litre ,3 foot tank and I really love your rock scape but i watched a BRS video and they said it’s best to have a gap behind so you can vacuum the sand .Do you think it could cause any issues long term because I am seriously thinking of doing mine like yours,Thanks.
Great vid. Thanks. I'm constantly trying to get the perfect flow, I have all lps and using an original rw-4 diagonally from front to back same as your right hand pump. I have it on the same speed as your left hand 1 and power 3 any more and the hammers don't open as much. It's hard trying to please everything in the tank.
@@nathanqwerty1just under 0.5. I had issues with zero p04 so started dosing to raise it, all that happened is my rocks soaked it up now leaching back out its come down from 1 so going the right way.
What’s your view on fish and flow. I have the Reefer 250 and run one powerhead at the lowest setting and then random flow nozzles on my return line. Midas Blenny, pair of clowns, Yellow Tang, Four Stripe Damsel and file fish. Sometimes I wonder if too much flow the fish can’t rest properly. Not sure if that’s legitimate though. Thanks
Hi Nathan, just wondering what specific return pump you use for this system and what you think of it? Have a tank coming the same size as yours and just wondering what you use? Cheers
Hi I have a 110 litre tank with live rock I am wanting to add coral. Would I need 1 or 2 pumps. I currently have 1 basic wave maker and my air pump. Many thanks
Have you still got your flow at the same settings? I'm new to this hobby but I also heard it doesn't actually do a good job of moving the water. Please give me your thoughts Thanks 👍

I would definitely love a livestream. I could tap into some of your expertise for my tank. I only have a single tunze 6040 on my Nano, do you think that is enough to create a turbulent flow? Great video mate.
Hi J, how are you feeling?! One 6040 will be fine to start with, i run 2 on my max nano and was perfect. Its once coral starts to grow and block flow patterns that you know you got to step it up..
another great vid Nathan. Can you have several other programs running the pump controllers? In addition to wave action, real reefs often have a period of "slack water" (around 20-30mins) during the period when tide changes etc. Do you ever dial your wave action down - eg to simulate tidal slack water? - would it be beneficial at all?
Hi Nathan. Looking to get back into the hobby again and am enjoying your videos. Was looking at a Red Sea Reefer 250 which you have had. I see you have a Evolution Aqua reef pro 900 now. Any pros or cons you have with either tank? It’s always a big decision.
Good question, using a jecod dcp-6500 dc return pump set on 34% which is only about 1,800-2000 litres an hour, don't use it in calculation as its such a small amount of flow due to the twin outlets.

Hi Nathan. How noisy are them pumps. My tunzes are near silent but under powered might go for a cheap upgrade in flow but if they make any noise the misses won’t be happy.
cant remember now as this was a while back, just keep playing around with it till you get it how you like really as every tank dynamics are different, look to see if corals are happy.
