Thanks Pat & Greg for a Wonderful back catalogue of music. Here's to many more years ahead.
Hue and Cry’s music makes me think of car journeys around Perth and Dundee with my dad when I was about 9 or 10 year old (1990/91) ❤ still love them today.
Only seeing this now 🙈 Never Stop Greg! Brilliant episode 👏
Proud to be a fan.
This was a great time to be a fan. Shadow of a man is still top five for me, Just wonderful,
I got introduced to Hue and Cry in 1988 and the band walked into my heart and never left. Indirectly it made me meet my wife and i'm not sure if she will ever forgive you for that but I am very grateful. Thank you for the music it means a lot to me.

And START HERE...simply love that song.....If you want to change the world....superb....Thanks again gents.
Loving these vignettes in to your career. I had a mad crush on Richard Niles' wife to be back then, Tessa. She was an in demand backing singer and at one time she was the vocalist with Morrisey/Mullen and used to play at a pub in North Finchley where I sometimes worked the door for the promoter. Such memories!
www.patreon.com/HueAndCry ... aw man, Morrisey/Mullen! ... I saw them many times back in mid 80's ... they had such a strong following up here in Glasgow ... WHAT A BAND! GK
@@HueAndCryMusic They were fab weren't they? Never quite got the kudos they deserved though...hmmm that sounds familiar. Looking forward to finally seeing you guys with the full band in Brum later this year
These were great times again. I went to a few of those shows at the Jazz Cafe, London for the ‘Showtime!’ album. If I remember rightly the album was put back, so the gigs were actually before ‘Showtime!’ came out. Still one of my favourite H&C records.❤️
It would be wonderful if you could possibly release a CD to buy of one of the gigs from the early 90s. Fantastic music!
@@Roger97640 www.patreon.com/HueAndCry Hi Rodger. I'll be posting many live tracks from this time period on our PATREON site over the next few weeks. Come and have a listen. GK. And if you fancy a deeper dive into our archive, then please join us on our PATREON site www.patreon.com/HueAndCry
Thanks.👍
Another brilliant watch guys. Loving this series so much! 'Showtime' was such a brilliant album and couldn't agree more about the live shows around this time. I saw you at "Blackheath Concert Halls" with live versions of songs like Cynical and Tinsel Show and the core of the band you mentioned. But when you arrive at the Jazz Cafe, add Nigel Hitchcock and Steve Sidwell (I think) for a top-draw brass section, the whole funk-explosion took off. I remember Pat opening the night shouting "who's ready for 15 minutes of FUNK!", and off you went with Sweet Invisibility, Goodbye To Me and Three Foot Blasts of Fire. As much as I appreciate the mellow stuff, it's this high-octane funk which defines H&C for me and, in those 1994 shows, it peaked!
www.patreon.com/HueAndCry I couldn't agree more. This was peak funk for us. I managed to record a few gigs from this period with this band. I'll be posting as many songs from them as I can on our Patreon site this month. GK. If you fancy a deeper dive into our archive, then please join us on our PATREON site www.patreon.com/HueAndCry
@@HueAndCryMusic The live cover of 'Do I Do' - I think from the Cynical CD single - was a blast. I always loved Tinsel Show - the way you thought you'd heard the chorus before the actual chorus appeared. And a phenomenal Hitchcock solo!
Absolutely LOVED this. So this is when I found you. Showtime was actually the album that alerted me to you. I adored it and then I came to see you the next year playing Piano and Voice in 95 in a small theatre in Elstree in Hertfordshire. I got you to sign my album in the car park afterwards. I was hooked and was rapidly working my way through the back catalogue then that was all new to me. Jazz not Jazz was then next and the Camden Jazz Cafe…epic 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
www.patreon.com/HueAndCry Thank you James. I don't have that gig on my timeline for 1995 ...We did do quite an extensive tour for Piano & Voice ... were in that neck of the woods around November 1995. Can you remember the name of theatre, date? Would help me fill in some gaps. GK. If you fancy a deeper dive into our archive, then please join us on our PATREON site www.patreon.com/HueAndCry
