I have to confess... I filmed this refashion some time ago and only got to edit it now!! I have already worn this new gem over summer, and I loved it so much! I hope you get some inspiration from this one and try it yourself! xx
Evelyn: The transformation is inspirational as do I find all your videos. I'd love to see a video on how to "see" something in a thrift store piece. I'd have passed that outfit over if I'd seen it in the store. Any chance you'd make a video on how to spot something with potential that would be easy to adjust (for those of us who don't quite have your sewing mastery)?
Thank you Doro! I'm so glad that you liked this video! And I have been thinking a lot about what you asked for above as it is clearly the first step in the process of refashioning! I will definitely do some videos on this in the future, something for the very beginner to start the process! So stay tuned for that one!
Lizzie that is music to my ears!!! There is so much treasure just waiting for you at the thrift store that you can transform into unique for your own unique style!
I love what you did with this outfit. When you said it was silk, you captured my attention completely. My favorite fabrics for the summer months are silk and linen. I just wish I had your flat tummy-I’m really old. I don’t know that happened. LOL!
I LOVE finding thrifted pieces in silk, linen, or wool... I found a silk velvet dress one time and wanted it sooo badly but I was a broke college student and the thrift shop unfortunately knew it was worth something lol
I love doing this it is my favourite thing to do I have done a lot of this especially with pants. I have never thought of this so will be on the look out for a two piece. Thank you always learn something. Cheers Tricia.
Well, I am very happy hear that you also enjoy the art of refashioning! I actually don't do much with pants myself, maybe something to explore in the future! I hope you get to transform an ugly 2pce!!
I just found your youtube videos, I'm basically a bag maker but I'm learning garment making. I have to say I love your videos and just my watching I'm learning quite a lot, I have never taken a formal sewing class so again your videos educational. Cant wait for more!!
It's fantastic that you were able to see a playsuit lurking in that otherwise ordinary outfit. You've done an incredible job of re-fashioning it. It's just a shame the weather is turning cooler now - you'll need to plan a holiday to warmer climes so you can keep wearing it!
Hi Katie! Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! As I admitted, I did film this some time ago, so I did get to wear it over the summer!! It was perfect for the hot climate here! Yes I love to find 'hidden gems' that can be transformed into something great! xx
Fantastic! Just happened upon your video, love what you did with this outfit. I love watching people turn thrifted pieces into cute outfits, but vintage outfits are even better! You've got yourself a new subscriber :)
Beautiful..... I have never seen a woman with such beautiful skin .......💕. I love to watch you videos. I would like videos on how to resize a garment up and where to measure on the body for a proper fit.🌸🌸
Great transformation. Had a good laugh at myself because it took me nearly the whole video to realize that you were saying that the skirts had Eight Gores, as I kept hearing "gauze" and was thinking "Wait, didn't she say it was silk?"
Thank Kia Yes you should learn to sew you will be able to do so many awesome things with clothes for your wardrobe!! I am currently working on beginner learn to sew course if you're ready to learn I'd love to have in! sign up is here www.evelynwood.com.au/learntosew
I've been faithfully watching your videos for years now and now my 3 year old daughter is OBSESSED with you, too. She loves watching me sew and sewing machines (even got an electric toy machine for her birthday) but I mostly think it's because you look like snowwhite. 😂
Hi Sarah, yes I do!! I teach in person but I also have just created an online course about how to alter and refashion thrift store clothing into vintage style! I will be taking in enrolments soon if you want to know more, just let me know or send me an email to info@evelynwood.com.au
Evelyn Wood - hello this is Jannet (Sarah’s mom) I just noticed she sent you a message that you replied to. She is 9 years old and her passion is art and she’s in love with sewing, I love your videos and the way you teach. I introduced her to your channel. Thank you so much for what you do! I hope some day she will be as good as you❤️.

She reminds me of snow white
I love your beautiful uplifting phrases that don't condemn preloved clothing to the bin.
I love watching you refashion items.
I have to confess... I filmed this refashion some time ago and only got to edit it now!! I have already worn this new gem over summer, and I loved it so much! I hope you get some inspiration from this one and try it yourself! xx
Evelyn Wood when you do these refashions, do you see in as little clothing as possible. I find I always end up sewing in my bra and biker shorts.😂🤣😂🤣

Thanks for watching Michele! That was a coincidence as my nails are always red!! I need to do another transformation just like this for summer!
Wonderful refashion taking something from frumpy to fun, and I especially love the fun little pouch on the skirt.

I LOVE finding thrifted pieces in silk, linen, or wool... I found a silk velvet dress one time and wanted it sooo badly but I was a broke college student and the thrift shop unfortunately knew it was worth something lol

Great transformation. Had a good laugh at myself because it took me nearly the whole video to realize that you were saying that the skirts had Eight Gores, as I kept hearing "gauze" and was thinking "Wait, didn't she say it was silk?"
HAHAHAHAH oh, perhaps it's my accent! Glad you liked it!
LOL how cute :) Gauze can be made out of silk though! As silk is a fiber and gauze is describing the weave of a material :)
I need to learn how to sew because I've seen some items in larger clothing that I like
Thank Kia Yes you should learn to sew you will be able to do so many awesome things with clothes for your wardrobe!! I am currently working on beginner learn to sew course if you're ready to learn I'd love to have in! sign up is here www.evelynwood.com.au/learntosew
