Lamborghini is Audi's subsidiary, whereas Porsche and Audi are semi autonomous siblings. Audi could run both brand (similar to how they did with Bentley 15 or so years ago, where the difference was that one had an open cockpit and the other didn't) or just run one. Doesn't really matter because the sole difference would be how the front looks.
Allegedly, Audi prefer to use their Class One DTM engine as their LMDh engine instead the V8 which VW want. Then Audi to turning against using the same engine as Porsche LMDh.
Audi is trying to buy a needy F1 team and rebrand it. But the "new F1" has budget rules that make teams much more valuable. The value WILL rise with every passing year even if a team is stone dead last for several seasons. So its unlikely that anybody in F1 would sell or rebrand in any way. Audi wants to join F1 in '26 but surely has to build a new F1 team and all that comes with it like facilities and such. Or they use everything they have in WEC and make everything work for F1. While thinking about it this is their only way but then they have to stop competing in WEC , they cant use the same facilities for 2 different racing series. His sister Porsche most definitely will join partys with red bull and work on their red bull power unit they actually got from Honda. Im kinda veteran when it comes to F1 so im not making assumptions based on nothing.
You're partially wrong. RB will be using a Porsche developed engine as RB will no longer have rights to the Honda engines. They only have use of Honda until the end of the 2025 season.
why would VAG spend all that money ? plus I have reservations that the LMDh category will be a IMSA only category after 1 season in the WEC as I believe the Hypercar Category in the WEC will prove to be superior
LMH is quite slow, slower than LMP2's from just a few years back, and with the hybrid deployment rules almost negating the front-axle (4WD) advantage that they have, I think that LMDh is going to be significantly quicker in IMSA, and will need to be BoP'ed to match the WEC LMh cars. But I guess we'll have to wait and see, however, it's still far more exciting than anything that has happened recently in endurance racing.
@@berindea well Lamborghini has committed to LMDh alongside Porsche will almost certainly be in it for the advertising in the USA via IMSA just like BMW
@@FormulaJonah Yeah, i heard , it´s very sad, RIP Audi Lmdh, another race car that will not see the light of day, like Porsche LMP2000, Peugeot 908hybrid4, Mercedes C292, Toyota TF110, among others.
