most people know this as the song Nujabes sampled in "aruarian dance" (obviously this isn't the case anymore as some sort of tiktok edit of vinland saga with the "no enemies" quote has ultimately attracted today's youth to this good ol' tune. make sure to listen to all them high quality tracks on the youtube release, but also try to appreciate the original boy who helped popularize the song. love all you guys.)

been listening to aruarian dance for years and never found the original until now. nujabes versions hits different but this is also a masterpiece.
And guess what? It's not even the original lmao, the true original is "pavane pour une infante défunte from ravel (french classical/impressionist composer).

My gran-dad went to Brazil and met Laurindo in person!
He told that he heard this song in the 50s or 60s I forgot but he told it wasn’t that famous back then he heard it on a radio along brazilliance 1 & 2.he was so interested to find who the artist was so asked the driver “who is he?”The driver answered “our laurindo almeida” and the funny thing was when he stepped out the vehicle he saw laurindo!he still remembers that day and I managed to by all of laurindo records and gave it to my gran-dad as a gift.His favorite song was”the lamp is low”.

During my last semester of high school, I remember I’d wake up at 05:30 every morning to study before going to school. I’d make myself a cup of coffee, open my curtains and just sit in my room and study while listening to this song.

thought it would be fun to share my personal experience in discovering this song: I was in a TF2 server on the map nucleus with some friends and someone was micspamming music; we begged the guy behind said micspamming to tell us the name of the current song he was playing. it turned out to be Lady Brown by Nujabes. this was my first exposure to the legend, and I'll never forget listening to his music for the rest of that night. fast forward a few years, I eventually learned that Nujabes actually had sampled many artists for his songs (was literally not into hip-hop at all before this) and looked into said samples. I discovered the lamp is low right away as aruarian dance was my favorite Nujabes song. I was surprised that it wasn't uploaded to youtube and quickly remedied this problem. all in all, I'm pretty glad I happened to be in that TF2 server at that time. thanks, TF2 micspammer.
funnily enough, i also got into nujabes sort of from tf2, a monsterous scout on turbine had a scattergun called ‘winter lane’, which i googled and was related to nujabes.. leading me to modal soul (also my favourite dota2 frag vid of all time uses Ristorante mixtape side b)

Back in the days I lost my girlfriend in a car accident, and during that time, I found solace and equanimity in this song. It took on a new meaning for me as I navigated the difficult path of forgiveness. Letting go of anger and resentment wasn't easy, but I realized it was essential for my own healing and surely she would want me to forgive him. This recent year has been such a learning experience for me, I’ve gone from depressed and too shy to look up when outside, I am now comfortable with talking to strangers and have made new friends and lost old friends, became less stressed with school and I’m starting to practice for volleyball again but recently I feel as if i have lost a part of me, I can’t hold conversations anymore and I feel like I’m not myself along with losing energy to exercise and train, and I don’t know why it happened, but this song has allowed me to take a breather and ignore the problems and just go over and think about my life this is truly a masterpiece

I also struggle to form a well sentence because of all the stuff going on in life. Like The dumbness of the gays and what ever gender identity, I only wish things would stay the same. When life had a colorful prospective, When kids went out side and played tag, When love wasn't difficult, And the lack of rude people these days. I miss each and every one of that. A canção foi composta por Peter DeRose e Bert Shefter, letra escrita por Mitchell Parish, inspirados em um tema de uma peça do compositor francês Maurice Ravel. Na gravação do Laurindo, que é a mais bonita, não me levem a mal, ele é intérprete. O arranjo é de um dos 3 arranjistas do álbum: Larry Cansler, Lex de Azevedo ou Pete King. Não tenho informação de qual é, mas eu acho que lembra mais o estilo do Pete King.

I never knew, but im a saxophone player and my instructor at the time was friends with a man who gave us a peice he was working on the play, it was just titled lullaby #3 but I loved it so much, and he was a very kind man, he died a few years later though sadly in Los Angeles, and my instructor kept the peice as a memory of his friend, one of the most beautiful pieces I had ever seen.
