if a series is so good, it deserves a fourth part 2:02 good luck man, you'll need it 4:30 act like you're going to trick off a ramp and you'll "POW dodge" which will still make you drop your items, but you'll keep your speed 6:09 yep, that's normal for people to do. 7:09 bikes wheelie. wheelie'ing makes you go faster 9:05 lots of different things apply there. you: lightweight, more acceleration (not too useful in this game) less max speed, not a good kart, and sub-optimal driving, but that last one will wear off with practice. them: heavyweight, less acc. more speed, Funky Kong, best heavyweight (followed by Waluigi and King Boo), best bike in the game, and close to perfect driving. 9:43 you can drift hop through off-road to keep your speed for a little longer 12:19 banana, very much visible. also, Brendon hit it too because lag.
Binging these Mario Kart Wii episodes online has made me laugh like few other series have. Your ability to fail at the simplest parts of this game is unrivaled
The fact that he actually manages to beat the top tiers using automatic drift really makes me question whether the people using top tier inside drift vehicles actually even know what they're doing and gives me hope that maybe I could actually win sometimes if I played MKWii online lol

Protip (aka, learning black magic): When there's a Pow-Block on screen, if you start shaking the controller continuously after the second hit it does, you'll spin out only a little. You'll still get hit and lose items, but you'll recover much faster and won't slow down nearly as much. Also: You can drag some items by just holding down the "use item" button. Furthermore, you can get your roulette item faster by mashing the use button during the roulette. Also also: bike players have stupid advantages in MKWii, as they can take tighter turns/drifts and can also get speed boosts at any moment (usually on straightaways) by doing wheelies.

Whenever someone uses the POW Block item, you're supposed to shake the Wii remote/wheel (or press up on the D-pad on the Gamecube controller) right as the third animation of the item is about to happen so that you'll only spin once instead of being fully stunned by the item. That's how those guys managed to keep going so quickly after it was used around 4:28.

Try using "Manuell" and not "Automatic" since drifting can get you a boost and it's easier to go around corners. 2. Try using a bike. A bike let's you be faster if you shake your wii remote while driving along. There are some handicaps tho. You lose all your speed after someone hits you doing that and you need to finish that earlier to drift around a corner. 3. If the Pow block pops up, try shaking your remote so it won't affect you that much. It's timing based. 4. I know it sounds strange, but try driving with Funky Kong or Daisy, since they have one of the best stats in the game. 5. Of you get hit or respawn, you lose all of your speed. Try holding 1 and 2 and move a little to the left and right. This makes you have a blue boost. Just release 1 and you get boostet. Helps more than you think. I hope you read this comment and know how to improve yourself
The "black magic" is actually simply pressing up on the D-pad (or in your case flicking the Wii remote/wheel up) the moment the third pow bang happens. You still spin out and lose your items, but you don't come to a complete stop and can keep going.
