Thank you so much. This is my first rental without an agent. I appreciate all the information in particular the step by step. I'm a teacher of 30 years, you did a great job of teaching.

How can I put a section for pet rent?

    • @cjlawvideos

Hi. Thanks for watching and for your question. When you get to "Terms" (after the question about "Security Deposits") they will ask you if pets are allowed. If you choose yes, they will give you the option of limiting the type or size of pets. On the next page, they will ask whether you want to charge a one-time pet fee (non-refundable) or a refundable deposit. You are correct, that there is not a separate question about "pet rent" (i.e., an additional rent amount charged per pet). I suggest you add it under "Additional Clauses" in the "Final Details" section of the questionnaire. I hope that helps, and best of luck to you! Best regards, Chris

@@cjlawvideos what is standard pet rent in cali would you say for a single family? Have seen apartments charge $50 - $100 per month, not sure about single family houses though

@@mcmickey3344 I don't know honestly, as I have not seen it used. I see pet deposits more often than pet rent. I would think that, depending upon the overall rent and condition of the house (e.g., hardwood floors vulnerable to scratches), $100 per month should be about right. I would just do a search on Trulia for single family homes in your area to see what they are charging for pet rent. Best regards, Chris
