I'm having some trouble connecting my motif 7 to pro tools...I downloaded the driver, I'm on a Mac book pro mid 2012 with the Apollo x4, and the motif is showing up as checked off in the set up-midi- input devices menu. However, I'm not getting signal into the instrument track, record enabled or not. What am I missing?
This seems to be a good video on how to use a MIDI "controller" keyboard when you want to record a Pro Tools virtual instrument. But what if you want to literally record a sound that is resident in your keyboard? What would that setup look like in Pro Tools? (i.e. . . My keyboard has great horn sounds that I would like to MIDI into my Pro Tools session.) Any help with that setup / routing would be greatly appreciated.
Detail to make it works in Protool: on the top left above your instrument track/click on expand/ click instrument (under "comments," "mic preamp"), and select instrument /if it's on "none" select your plugin instrument (had to set it up before, in my case I see "Instr2 - serum midi") assign it to channel 1or any other channel u want. THEN it works :D
Hi ! I'm currently trying to setup a Kontrol A49 with protools12. The keyboard is ticked in the list of midi input devices, the intrument tracked in record armed, but I always get no midi input. The instrument used in kontakt are set to get input source to OMNI, and the keyboard works fine on standalone kontakt. Any idea of the issue ? Thanks !
Im trying to get my Korg Nanokey to work in PT11. Its checked in the input devices...but no signal. Ive tried the keyboard with the software Midi-ox and it should work fine. what can I do?
I tried going to Peripheral > M-Audio Keyboard > Won’t let me pick Recieve Form says None > Send To Mini Grand 1 then I pressed Ok it says “You must assign a MIDI port to Receive From for MIDI Controller #1, or change it’s Type to none.”
