GREAT Björn. Thank's for the coments !👏👏👍
Thanks!
Super Pedal.
We live in a golden era for delays. Roland's new digital Space Echo and the Nu-X knock off both sound good in their ways (I don't own these though). The old T-Rex Replica stands up, especially for analogue style echoes. The Catalinbread Echorec is my pedal of choice for oddball delays and the Boss DD-200 does everything else I need. I have a few other delay pedals (EQD Dispatch Master, EHX Memory Boy Deluxe, Ibanez Mini Analog, SubDecay Echobox and some other generic units - That list got longer than wanted. I forgot how many I owned!!). The Metaverse might be on my shopping list were I not overloaded with pedals and my shelves complaining loudly! Nice demo. I enjoyed Brian's overview so seeing its functionality applied to specific situations was very interesting.
I'm glad to hear someone else say that the old Replica still holds up. I'll never sell mine.
@@mattgilbert7347 My Replica has taken a battering over the years but has never let me down (famous last words there😎). T-Rex nailed it with that pedal. For me it's one of the few digital delays that sounds great into the front of an amp even when it's overdriving.
@@kevinjohnbetts I am curious about this new Replica V.2. So far, I haven't seen or heard anyone demo it up against the older Replica.
@@mattgilbert7347 I had to look this up! As far as I can gather the 'new' version of the Replica is the same as the old one (Sold as part of the 'Original Collection') only with stereo outs, a hi-cut and input trim. The vintage/modern seems to be the old 'brown' switch re-named, I know my Replica is one of the very early ones because later models had different switches. How different this 'Original Collection' version is sound-wise is questionable. The T-Rex blurb suggests it should be identical. But I'm guessing. Given that the old ones still sell second-hand for around £160 the new one being priced around £210 seems reasonable ..... although a Boss DD-200 can be had for about the same and that does a lot more. Although this 'Original Collection' Replica is hand-made in Denmark whereas the DD-200 is mass produced in Malaysia.
nice pedal!
Excellent demo! Wow, very nice!
Thanks!
Sounds fantastic.
Since this is also a delay pedal with multiple types of delays, how does it compare to the TC Electronic Flashback in your opinion? Because that would’ve been my next gear purchase.
I’ve always been a big fan of the Flashback. Especially considering what you get for the buck and the Tone Print feature that allows you to dial in custom tones. However, the Wampler has more of a studio quality, with some very impressive sounds and features. I would prefer a different box, it feels cheap and looks strange, but it sounds absolutely impressive.
Excellent as always, thank you 👍 For Binson Echorec tones only, do you prefer this pedal or the Dawner Prince Boonar?
The Boonar is hard to beat, both tonewise and its interface. You can’t really compare them. The Metaverse has a ton of different types of delays tho, making it much more versatile.
But for gilmourish binson tones the booner must win out
I was happy to have the old intro back. You could lower the sound, and let it play into your speak. Instead of cutting it.
Just a thought.
My goodness that channel bound neck is gorgeous!
@gilmourish I can't seem to find your second delay tone on mine
Excelente video and great performance Bjorn! Love all your settings!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I got this Wampler Metaverse 5 days ago and I have to say i am very impressed with this little box!!!
I own so many different delays but I really love how beautiful quality sound you can get from each Delay mode…
What a beautiful simple versatile Delay unit…you can create so many different killer tones! Brian did an essential pedal, very smart and easy to use with a superb studio quality sound!🔥🎸🤟🏻
Thanks! Yes, I’m really impressed with this one.
Wampler pedals are top, this delay is great too. Bjørn, one question, please: Do you use the 'GHS David Gilmour String Set F'
strings on your Strats? The second and third are lighter, so they are easier to bend, and the sixth is thicker, so you get a
warmer tone. If you do (I couldn't find an article of yours on this), do you have to modify the bridge's height if you come
from a regular 10s set? Never tried them, and have always used D'addario 10s. I have set the bridge to Fender's specs,
1/8″ off the top. Thanks!
I used GHS Bommers 10-46 for years and tried the DG set as well. My issue with GHS is what appears to be lack of quality control. Too many times that I found useless strings in the package. I use EB 10-46 now. I probably had to adjust the intonation and string height slightly with DGs.
@@gilmourishofficial Too bad to hear that. i don't remember having read bad reviews of that set - Gilmour uses the
same exact pack I guess... Anyway, i´ll see if I check them out some day. What attracks me the most of it
is the second and third strings which are basically from a 9s set, hence much easier to bend to reach a
tone and a half or even 2 tones like David does. Cheers.
vary good sounding delay.
Drool.... Your videos are always enjoyable, even with the excessive drooling it causes.
Ha ha, sorry!
I hit like before watching.
Well, thanks 😉
The pedal so good it cucked the zuck
A great video, as always, your work is impressive.
Thanks!
Did you ever tryed the providence chrono delay???? I am thinking to get it but just want to know what you think about it....thanks a lot 😉
Well worth checking out. High quality sounds and features.
@@gilmourishofficial thanks a lot for a reply.....but last night i bought the boonar i could not resist 😆 i hope i did well 🎸
The Binson Echo sounds enormous!!!
Hey Bjorn, thanks for the answers. I sent you a couple more questions, "I think". Anyway, what distortion/Drive were you using in this video. It, and the Wampler sounded fantastic!!!
From your Padawan, Keith
PS. I did have a bad hard drive, but for a very reasonable $206.00 they installing a 556? SSD, a new CMOS Battery, putting all my data on the SSD, and getting rid of all the junk the PC came with, and lastly setting up my files. Also teaching me how to put another 556 SSD should I need more space, which I'm sure I will.
Peace, get back with what you think they are friends of a friend and didn't charge me a diagnosis fee!!
Sounds great! Have you had a chance to check out the Keeley Halo or Eccos yet? Both are great compact delays.
Nope.
I’m using a Boonar with a Chrono 4 delay. The Boonar is going nowhere, it is so quick and easy to adjust and adds just the right amount of grit to the signal when using my Russian Green to produce the most organic echoes tone I’ve had. I am tempted to swop the Chrono for this as it will give me some great options for dual delays which I love doing with some of gilmours solos. Superb product demo as always Bjorn
Thanks!
😎👍❤🖖
Did you compose/play the bumper music after the introduction to your video? Is the full version available to play/download somewhere?
That's a short piece I did years ago as an intro for these videos.
That thing sounds really good. The Digi setting seems to be right on the money. One question though, Bjørn: Have you ever tried the source audio collider? And if so what's your opinion? Since it can run 2 different delays at once, it could be right up your alley.
Haven't tried it.
That very last clip had such an epic fuzz sound! What was your signal path for that last clip?
Thanks! I think I used the Green Russian. Can’t remember 🙄
How does the Wampler compare to the Strymon Timeline Delay?
The Timeline has a display, which I always find handy on delay pedals. Other than that I think the Metaverse stands up really well.
@@gilmourishofficial Thank you.
Greetings Bjørn, this message was repeated before, I REALLY need the tone of song called "SHORT AND SWEET", Written by Roy Harper And David Gilmour which finally recorded in the cold winter of Super Bear studio in France. if you kind and try to looking to your old stuffs and finally show that tone by the recording of video like the other videos you shared with us, It's really Makes me happy!
I might do a video whenever I get the time. Love that song! I've covered David Gilmour's gear on his debut solo album here www.gilmourish.com/?page_id=19
You'll find the setup for Short and Sweet here www.gilmourish.com/?page_id=49
Very interesting indeed!! Good demo as always. Thanks Bjorn!
