The Wampler Metaverse is a compilation of 11 delays ranging from analog, to multi-head tape and even Wampler’s most popular circuits such as the Faux Tape Echo, Doctor and Ethereal. With the same form factor as the Terraform, the Metaverse is designed to be simple to operate with only a few alternate parameters accessed by holding the Bypass switch. Delay time ranges from 25ms (40 in tape) to 2 seconds which can be controlled via Tap Tempo and numerous Subdivisions. Along with Tone control and a full wet or dry Mix range, you can also boost the output of the Metaverse by 6dB. Various Modulation is available with every mode from subtle wow and flutter to flanger in the Jet and Mod modes, complete with flange feedback accessed on the Tone’s alt adjustment.
With stereo ins and outs, 1/8” MIDI ports and an Exp pedal input that can control any parameter, the Wampler Metaverse can easily be your go-to delay, especially when you take advantage of the 8 onboard presets or 128 when using MIDI.
As a bonus, Wampler has announced the release of the plugin version of the Metaverse and registering your new pedal guarantees a free download for your MAC or PC! For more details visit WamplerPedals.com.

I do like the idea of a plugin version of the pedal. That's clever and more manufacturers should follow suit.
And the opposite. It would be cool if a pedal maker worked with Soundtoys and you could stack various plugins with your settings and a few knobs for changing set parameters on the fly.
@@timetobenotdo I’ve been wanting that for years! Plus a box for virtual instruments to play live without a laptop
Great show of practicality from Brian. As someone who frequently delves into ambient guitar, this one is a bit simplified for my needs but it's a genius move by Wampler to go beyond a simple stomp delay but stop well short of Strymon territory.
Very smartly put-together delay. There was definitely a niche in the market for a "mega delay" that kept the choice of algorithms within the realms of what most would call "traditional" delay types. It allows one to justify having this *and* something like a Nemesis or Timeline on the board! Now that's what I call knowing your customers, well done Wampler.
Sounds absolutely killer and I like the choices of delay.
Sounds fantastic! Great work Wampler!
Excellent video and great performance!
What a beautiful simple versatile Delay Unit….Fantastic killer tones!!!🔥🤟🏻🎸
Of all the videos I have watched on this pedal, this one sounds the best, Andy always delivers
I really appreciate it!
Andy, your playing is always fantastic especially the part in tape mode with a slap back delay 👏
Bravo Andy!! You could make a burlap sack sound good! And Bravo Wampler!! Another must have!
Thanks Derek! I’ll add burlap sack to the list haha 👌
Got some radiohead vibes around that 10-11 minute mark.
As always, another great demo :)
Thanks! I can never escape the Bends :)
Wow that's a nice sounding delay. It sounds really organic and musical
I love the tone coming from that Suhr.
Yeah Suhr, I agree.
Thank you! Honesty, ever since I put those Radioshop HSS Evolution pups in there it's been my go-to demo guitar.
@Dean Feeney Lovely to hear that you're enjoying them and thank you!
Niw thats a well thought out brilliant pedal Very nice
No reverse ! I know most don’t have much need for it but it’s nice to have, it’s too much fun to play around with and it’s a deal breaker for me. Like the Terraform, I had to have a rotary setting and Brian initially wasn’t going to have it but changed his mind. Glad he did. Another excellent demo Andy
And no oil can
Grab a used DD-5 or DD-7. They have good reverse delays
Yeah that's one of the reasons I haven't sold my Nemesis yet... I traded it (sorta) but found i missed its weirder or lesser-known like that Oil Can
Great video great music song great sounds great audio. Playing guitar 🎸.
Wampler is one my favorite pedal brands and it looks like my pockets are going to feel lighter pretty soon 😝😂
I just love your playing
I really appreciate it!
Always great to hear from you Andy. The effect sounds great and there’s no shortage of people demoing this online. But your opinion is strong.
Again Andy having fun😄
The plug-in voice bit caught me off guard! haha xD I could watch these videos all day but i wouldnt get very much recording done! i already own a memory boy and hazarai memory man (i was massively tempted by old proguitarshop demos!) but id love to play around on this one too! i find these videos more helpful than any manual
Sounds great! Analog dry through?
Lovely demo, as usual. But with all those stereodelays that has been released lately, which would you use yourself Andy?
The two Boss Space Echo pedals might be the the "one-trick-ponies" here. But they nail "that" sound though?
Boss also have the DD-200, which also is worth mention. But I'm not that sure where it goes towards the other pedals I mention here?
The Source Audio Nemesis was one of the first in this category, and it's been my go-to pedal so far. But this might be slighty better for it's simplicity?
The Line 6 DL4 MkII might be the nearest to this Wampler delay, but it's also somewhat bigger with more options.
Strymon and Walrus also make great stereo delay pedals.
So where in this mix should we find this new Wampler Metaverse?
This pedal is super musical, with a natural sound and very organic. Highly recommend it any guitarist out there!
This or the Walrus Audio D1? Thanks for your reply.
Andy, I’m going nuts trying to select a great multi-delay that can specifically hit those classic Floyd (Echorec), Zeppelin (Ep-3) and Radiohead (BBD) tones. Was thinking maybe the UAFX Starlight, Keeley Halo or Walrus D1. Does this compare well to those? What would you choose?
Well the UAFX is specifically a tape delay thing. This has a bunch of different kinds of delay so if you specially want the best tape delay then go UAFX starlight, el capistan is also great (but if theres another delay with tape delay you like get it because uafx cost a pretty penny. They are one trick ponies, they do one thing really really well) . I haven't tried a halo or a d1 but this delay pedal is certainly the most versatile of the ones you listed.
They'd all do a solid job honestly you didn't list a build builder or pedal so I'd honestly say just try them out or watch demos and decide.
@@drdre4397 the Starlight has 4 types of delay in it. One of them being tape delay, the EP3. It also has an emulation of a memory man, digital and a downloadable cooper time cube. So it’s not strictly tape at all. It’s fantastic.
I can add that in development I playtested this extensively as my delay for Time, Comfortably numb, Shine on, and the wall - I used the JET setting for the wall (the additional flange sounds great) and I used theTape setting for Shine / Time, and the 2290 (Digi) setting for C Numb - all of them sound great....
get an echosystem and dont look back.
I get all those with the Alexander History Lesson. Ed uses a Memory Man, but Greenwood has used many different delays.
Looks cool, but a couple of the modes seem a bit redundant, like an analog and BBD? I thought analog was BBD. That and two different flanger delays. Oh well, I am sure there is something i am missing, great demo as always.
The Wampler manual has some clear descriptions of the inspiration for each mode. Yes, the first 3 are all BBD/analog but based on different pedals: DM-2, Aqua Puss and Memory Man. They all have different voicings -- you hear different frequencies being emphasized in each repeat and their modulation choices vary too. The BBD really has that extreme triangle wave available like original Mem Man. Thanks for the question!
So when does the Suhr signature Andy model come out? JK, :)
Nothing against Suhr, but I miss Andy saying "I'm playing a G&L Legacy."
Thanks, I still use the Legacy now and then!
No reverse delay?
This seems pretty amazing and I love Wampler, but between this and the dl4 mkii the choice is not really hard.
I suspect Jimmy Page thinks, when he hears this, why wasn't this available in 1970? Then again, I suspect Alfred the Great wondered why AR15s weren't available to him in 890.
Does this do ping pong?
Not a ping pong delay, more of a stereo widening effect. Thanks!
Sounds like a rattlesnake very nice
I would pick Eventide UltraTap anytime over this one. Metaverse sounds like the delay for ppl with very simple delay needs (no offence). It's absolutely not interesting imho. I bet i can make all of those sounds really easy on my Line 6 HX Effects which has many more stuff on board not only delay. I bet Metaverse would suit some guitarists but not those experimental weirdos 😉 Great video as always 👍
Be nice if the "analog" side was in fact analog.
(:
One can dream
@@bread5617 Do you dream in analog or digital?
Only one analog multi fx pedal, that I know of, is the Mad Professor Double Moon, which is now a near $300 pedal.
It’s a multi Chorus, with multi Flanger, Rotary and Vibrato options.
People are really sleeping on it, as it sounds as good or better than each analog or digital chorus, I see get released.
Why limit the capabilities with a BBD chip, that would make the pedal cost $100-150 more, just for the “analog” delay setting?
Then the way one would have to do the circuit, to work with the other features, it would be a mess.
@@whiskybravo4648 do analogue androids dream of analogue sheep?
Thanks for jonining me at Andy Demos, Andy, or whatever your name is.
Move over strymon
Haha
First.
wonder how long it will be ... before wampler is sued for using the name metaverse....
better buy the original now before the name change....
Nah, this is a name that goes back farther than you think.
@@AndyDemos nice.. so whoever had the original name gets to sue zuck... that would be cool !!
The problem when making a delay that covers what anyone could possibly want is no one gets what they want. If they are an actual player playing songs and within the frame of one or a few genres their needs are specific and even related. If indeed you could use all the Wampler has to offer why not get into the bottomless pit of choices of a 'modelling' pedal.
i think it's more about wampler challenging himself to make something like this. mission accomplished.
Lots of people will be getting exactly what they want from this pedal.
@@yomuthabyotch That mission was accomplished when this on a 'breadboard'. It is not rocket science to see what different genres need and then allow a user to download 11 delays in that category. Later a guy if he moves on could get a different set of downloads. The challenge looks like planned redundancy. Mission accomplished.
I think the point of this pedal was to avoid the bottomless pit you speak of and just cover the main types without getting too complicated. Thanks for watching!
@@Paul_Lenard_Ewing at first i didn't want to say it, but now with your armchair tinkerer talk, i will: u just hatin.
ANOTHER friggen delay!!?? really??!!
Nobody should buy this simply because of the name… what a poor choice
