the Orange has more pronounced mids here which I find myself really liking in this comparison, even though Im not a fan of Orange's sound in general. the MT15 sounds great too and they both sound very similar overall

It is the best series you started.
It's amazing to first listen the tone and then listening your thoughts 😃

Great riffing! I think you captured the OR15 mojo really great here!

These vids are bloody dangerous, that PRS and Orange both sound equally as nice... it'd be cheaper to do drugs.
The playing as always massively on point sir!
    Nicely done

Granted, i haven't listen to any of this yet, but both will sound very different but both are awesome.
    I want both....

The Orange sounds looser in the low end and has a bit more aggressive mids. Both sound really good. Depends on your needs. The MT15 is definitely more versatile with 2 channels and separate EQs. I don't think you can go wrong. I'd like to hear them together and see how big that would sound. Thanks for the video.

Rust dust gruff and grind that first riff is so tight !!!!

The Orange sounds very boxy to me. Those mids may push out better in the mix. But I bet they would be more fatiguing in the room practicing and jamming.
The MT15 is voiced very differently through the mids. Darker and smoother. Much less "beaky" in the mids. My personal 5881 loaded MT15 is huge in the bottom end. And sounds/feels like a bigger more powerful amp.

I just make riffs up as I go. It’s boring for me if I do it any other way. Cheers -Ryan

When comparing directly like that, the MT15 appears less « boxy » sounding as the OR30 but the orange has the more forward and pleasant sound. I’m sure the MT can be EQd slightly in the mids to open it up.
I like that the MT feels like a much higher wattage amp, it can definitely drive that 4x12 oversized!

The Orange sound is truly unique, I like it. The MT15 sounds like a generic Peavey amp to me. Not my cup of tea.

just the two amps I was trying to decide between. Looks like the OR15 it is.

I own both the MT15 and an Orange TH30 (similar gain characteristics, but simpler tone control), and your sound samples capture a lot of their essence. I tend to run my Fortin-modded Ibanez TS9 in front of my slightly-scooped TH30 to get it sounding more "metal." My MT15 gets a Wampler Tumnus Deluxe pushing mids with bass and treble at noon for a thicker sound.

for metal which of those amps would you like better, or which is better in general? thnx, thinking about those two amps.

Shit! I think I prefer the Orange.. and I bought the MT15 at Christmas! Both great amps though. Will have to dig out my tube screamer

Hell yeah just put a screamer in front of the MT 15 and your good to go....and a gate.

Ha, nice. Love the bottom of the MT15. Love the OR15 mid character. I use an EQ pedal always so I'm thinking both of these would be good choices. I'm buying another amp for my 7 string... I REALLY want one of these lunchboxes... but I'm thinking ultimately I will have to suck it up and go higher wattage.

I think it’s important to point out that the orange is significantly cheaper and does the same job and imo sounds better as well

In germany the OR15 costs 725€, the PRS MT15 goes for 599€. Don’t get me wrong, i love my or15, but the mt15 is serious bang for the buck.

This one seems pretty decent. Could be that there was something with the one you have. Could also be the volume levels. Who knows. That sucks, though! Cheers -Ryan
