Nice I was looking at these, thought they looked pretty decent. The thing with wedge soles, you’re really going to run into issues wearing them outdoors in bad weather/tough terrain. Horrible in winter. But absolutely beautiful indoors on cement. Great traction on smooth cement, even wet cement. Nice boots! Agree on the speed hooks.
Yeah, I always figured wedge soles were more of an Hard flat surface boot, than an outdoors boot. But I wanted to give these a shot. They’re great for the price they’re at too! Getting awesome leather, for a little of the price of Thorogoods, and Red Wings.
I live in NC mountains. I love wedge soles on gravel. They're way better than lug soles. But if I'm in wet fields, I go for lugs. Winter or summer makes no difference. Wedge soles are by far my favorites.
@@user-zy4cq6vo3qThey weren’t terrible for me.. But I find lug soles to be a lot easier where I work. I strictly work in Sedona, AZ (unless a builder needs a Borate/final grade treatment for a new build). The wedge sole on those new build treatments makes it a lot easier since I’m concrete for a couple of hours on the borates. But I get more traction with the lug soles if I’m doing a final grade treatment.
@@IamjbattleGood, I’ve gotten a handful of scratches on them from work, and using them around the property. However, I will probably need to go back to my logger style boots for work; since I am on uneven ground all day, and the loggers provide a little more grip and stability going up and downs hills all day.
@ yeah, I ordered them for work. I’ve been wearing Truman stone rambler. Great boot, but almost too nice for work. Thanks for the review. Only one I’ve found so far
These look awesome. Just wish it had speed hooks at the top!
You and me both! They did the speed hooks with the Non-Black Label (Diplomat). Don’t know why they didn’t do that here as well..

how do they fit?
They fit great! My shoe size with Thursday (so far) has been 10 my brannock size across all of the shoes I’ve bought.
These look like quality boots. Is the tongue gusseted?
It is, however, they have “relief” cuts in the corners of where the vamp, tongue, and eyelets are.
Yes, these are fully gussetted. I do not understand his complaint about relief cuts. What is he talking about? These boots are fine, IMHO.
@ If you unlace the shoe and pull the eyelet area back, where the vamp is sewn to the tongue, there are “relief” cuts underneath the first eyelet.
@@TheRealLOLExpress thank you for explaining that relief cut.
@@chefrichh No problem! I wish they wouldn’t put those holes in there… But whatever 🤷♂️ lol.
Would be [more] helpful if showed the Keen ones and compare. How much wear already? etc.
Oh the Keens are already blown out. However, I had them for about a year.
How are they holding up?

@ yeah, I believe these are more for the person who is gonna be on concrete most of the time. OR not being on super hilly/uneven ground all day.
Speed hooks can get caught on stuff sometimes, maybe that's why they went military 🪖 style.
Could be. But their non-black label version (diplomat) has 2 speed hooks at the top. Which is weird why they didn’t implement them on these as well.
