Thanks for the instructional video. I want to do this on my Stryker as well. I have a 3212 also. I'm not going to bother putting the vertical bolts in the frame as I only intend to use the hitch for an e-bike rack.
Thanks for the video. I currently tow doubles with my 5th wheel and a toy trailer. I want a new rig and saw a double tow toy hauler (had a 4 seater rzr on the second trailer). Looking at getting a new toy hauler (garage style) 5th wheel, add a hitch receiver so I can get a second SxS on the second trailer. Or going to get a shorter 5th wheel and tow a 20ft flat for 2 SxSs.
nice video ... Seemed kind of a pain in the rear end but looks like it is worth it in the end. I would like to do this with my camper, not to haul a trailer but to mount my dirt bike rack and haul a 220lb dirt bike
Hey! Can you connect Toy Hauler with 7 pin to your track and utility trailer with 4 pin to your track as well? I know that you possibly don't need breaking lights on your toy hauler if you tow a utility trailer behind it with break lights. But your toy hauler needs to be connect to apply breaks. How do you solve the problem? Thanks.
Towards the end of the video I show how i do that. It explains it better than me trying to text you. Basically, I ran a separate trailer wiring and ran it through the tailgate of my truck, used a 7 pin convert to 4 pin and plugged into the gooseneck plug inside bed. Hope that helps.
Howdy from a fellow Fort Worthian! Been looking at 5th wheel RV’s, as I didn’t think this was really possible. I’ve got a ‘19 Grand Design Reflection 297RSTS travel trailer. My RV came from the factory with a 2” receiver but they specifically state that you can only carry up to 300 lbs. max, and it is not designed for towing. We’re wanting to start carrying a golf cart to our camping destinations. After 3 years, are you still happy and feel secure with your mod?
Hello sir. Have you had any trouble with a bumper pull towing a second trailer? I used to do, myself, here locally in So California. We usually went to Glamis, California and sometime did the same thing around Yuma, Arizona. I never got a ticket. How was your experience? Have a good day. Roy, So Cal....soon to be from Ehrenberg, Arizona.
You said this hitch is for 72-77" wide. When I click on the link that takes me to etrailer that you provided, it says its for a 22"to 72" wide space. I need 74 inches. Can you confirm the width that this will work? Thank you
You said the hitch goes to 77"? I believe mine measured around 73-74" and the longest I can find is 72". Do you measure from the center of the I-beam across?
What do you think of this set up hauling a crestliner 1850 superhawk behind it? I'm worried about tongue weight more than towing but would like to hear your thoughts
How much do you comfortably tow with this setup? I'm doing the exact same thing. I was thinking of starting with a little 8ft trailer (super light) with 1 atv or a 12ft cargo trailer (1200lbs) plus ATV 400lbs ish and dirtbike 200lbs ish. 1800lbs total. What are your thoughts on the 1800lbs? One more thing. My rig is 40ft 5th wheel. We go to the same place (South Fork Fun Valley) and have the same problem you do with hauling. I pull with f350 dually so not too worried about weight. More worried about length and towability.
I have towed my 12ft utility trailer with a cforce 600 quad and two dirt bikes. This summer we will be going to Southfork again but this time i will take my 14’ tandem trailer with a Honda Talon 4 seater. Im am very confident in this setup. If weight is distributed on axles I think it could handle 3000-3500lbs. As far as length, my rv is 38’ so your not much than me. You should be fine with your equipment. We stay at the Peacock rv sites.
@@LifeWithKernelLee Thanks for the quick reply!! How far do you go? We come from Montgomery TX. and it is a 1000-mile trek up there for us. What are your thought on this?
Did your camper give auxiliary hitch specs or is it a DIY risk.....mine will be a DIY risk more or less, I can't get any documents from supplier saying camper is meant for it. I-beams are beefy though.
Same here, I am comfortable hauling our 650 4x4 4wheeler on it. I have seen people with same hitch hauling their razor. I have a 6x12 cargo trailer that im going to tow next.
@@wevdog i think that should be fine. I would feel more comfortable with a double axle trailer with that much weight. But i think it should tow just fine even with trailer like mine(single axle utility trailer that is.
Very nice. How long is that road train. I only ask cuz I live in California. You're only allowed to tow two trailers and maximum of 28' 6 " on each trailer. With a total length including pick up and trailers of 75 ft. You also need a CDL class A with double or triple endorsements. I know some states you can get a recreational doubles but my state does not offer that, so you need a full-blown CDL. but nice job and that was actually a good idea to run its own designated electrical connection.
I've been doing it in CA for 15 years. Dbls/trpls endorsement, medical, you're limited to 26,000lbs., written test, pre-trip test and then road test. The road test is only with your 5th wheel. The stupid thing is you have to test for airbrakes even though you won't get the cert for them. I'm 65' with truck, 5th and SxS trailer. I'm 73' with truck, 5th wheel and then the boat. Both trailers have to have brakes.
Oh man, yeah it was a pain for me as well. I ate through 3 drill bilts I had to shave some of the washer to get some of mine on. Hopefully It working out alright for you.
I like what I see when a man explains himself on the work that he's doing
Thanks so much

I think no problem, this hitch is super beefy
I'm looking to haul a mastercraft xstar it's about 5000 lbs
That might be pushing it
... so it might be better to fab my ow.
This one is pretty beefy but I dont think its rated that high, I wanna say the tongue weight was rated at 1500
Is that legal towing a second trailer behind the camping being that it’s a bumper pull not a 5th wheel
Yes, in the states where pulling doubles is allowed.
