yes, as more slowly the tempo gets, more difficut to play. I assume you are a begginer, but dont worry if you keep doing hard work u wont complain anymore about the tempo. No pai no gain! ;)
How does one improvise over these chord changes? Should I learn whatever mode works with each chord and then working on changing between the modes? Or should I use chord tones? Pretty lost
Either of those work! A third method that will both get your mind thinking of the broader picture as well as make it simpler to improvise over would be organizing the changes into the different “key centers” and just using that keys scale. In this tune as well as in a good majority of jazz standerds the different keys are established with 2-5-1 cadences. Some examples of these would be bars 3,4,5,&6 are a minor 2-5-1 in the key of C minor so you could just use the C Dorian scale over all of it. You know its a minor 2-5-1 and not a major 2-5-1 because of the half diminished 2 as well as it ending on a minor 1. The next couple of bars are a major 2-5-1 so you can just use the Ab major or mixolydian scale (or the lydian scale for a bit more spice).
@@Lydiia-in4ds thank you for that response. I’m also trying to make my playing sound more like jazz and less like rock, do you have any suggestions for that?
@@PyroShredder982there could be a bunch of factors effecting that including rhythm, note choice, and phrasing as well plenty others. The best way ive found to help my phrasing is to LISTEN to jazz as well as sing along both to other peoples solos and as iam improvising my own. And once i have a solo that i like amd can sing along to ill transcribe it(this is a very difficult process, at least for me, so dont be surprised if it takes a while) this allows you to really get into the sound and some of the traditions of jazz. Another text book jazz phrasing that you could start to implemnt is focusing on ending your phrases on short notes on the up beat. For rythm i would say to just ensure you swing everything and the previous steps of Listening, singing, then transcribing, will help your selection of rhythm greatly. The arguably least important for sounding like jazz is note choice but some methods that will help you stray from rock like soloing are chromatic approaching notes and enclosures. For future reference one of my favorite sites to learn jazz from is “learnjazzstandards.com” also iam assuming your a guitar player because of your mention of rock, there are a plethora of jazz guitar gurus that have some really amazing Educational content
who did the original hit rendition of this in the 60s? Was it Dusty Springfield? If it is I cannot find her original. And> this is one of the most sentimental pieces from that time and I remember it well... where'd it go?
@@guitareimprovisation Sorry, I think I got the version wrong, I heard one in which the second chord of the song is 'Fdim7'. In other words, the chord progression would start like this: / Ebmaj7 /// Fdim7 / G7 / Cm7 .....
Hi, and thanks for reaching out! I'm sorry but it won't be possible to juste re-upload my tracks with a different video. I see you're already doing it without waiting for my response (which is clearly not a good way to proceed), so please delete all the videos with my track as soon as you read this message. If it's not done by monday, I'll ask RUclips to do it for me. You'll have to find another way to generate revenues than just copy-pasting the work of others. Also, please do that for each creator you used the content, like Sebastien Zunino for example (except if you have their approval). Appart from that, I honestly wish you success!
Love how there is just the guitar playing harmony so i can practice piano over it. Thank you!
I'm auditioning for All state jazz band in North Carolina tomorrow, and this really helps me get more into the feel of the song itself. Thank you!
On trombone, and I've got my solo printed out, two are written, one I improvise. This is in perfect time with what I'm doing
Awesome ! Hope your performance was great !
@@GandM_TV did you pass?
Don't know if you auditioned this year but we had to do anthropology. Very different style
I hope you passed, have a wonderful day and life❤

Cool changes!
Beautiful-really nicely done
Perfect tempo for me is playing this back at 1.75. Quality diminishes but that’s the speed I neeed.

I just lost myself playing this on steel pan.
Thank you!

A great recent for me! Amazing backing!
What chord are you playing at bar 11 on the Ebmaj?
so nice thank you ! in 1.25 its very cool too
The comping guitar starts to sizzle and croak at 1.25X
Reminds me, RUclips has no good jam track for StarDust (in F)
is bar 29 right? i have E flat, D7?
Yes, that's better. Or Eb Ab7 which is almost the same. My latest version of this BT is here : ruclips.net/video/pOifkZ2q5V8/видео.html
Similar progression for "YUMESEKAI" in chorus part

Eb-G-C#-F if you play the guitar it is the jimi hendrix chord but with the pinky half step down
