A gun shot sounds like a loud firework going off right next to you times 2 or 3. A suppressed gunshot sounds like a very loud clap or smack. The thud of an acorn hitting the roof of a car... sounds like neither of these things.

I think they should actually face harsher charges than a citizen for this kind of shit. Like, they’re supposed to be trained and upholding the law. We’re not. So they need worse punishments.
Realistically... he has. The penalties for opening fire, so long as you haven't hurt anyone and can clearly demonstrate you had a fear for your life, aren't as stringent as you'd expect... being a cop likely saved him any of the sort of temporary 'detainment' time you'd suffer as a civilian (assuming you have a permit to be carrying the weapon anyhow, which the officer does) but as a civiilain even you wouldn't be IMPRISONED for this, just incarcerated for the few hours to days it takes for the investigation into what happened gets far enough along to deduce that you didn't just try to actively MURDER someone. It's basically a stern talking to and a fairly moderate fine/public disturbance type charge as long as you don't actually shoot someone in your foolishness.
I wish you would have covered the whole video. That officer actually patted down the dude in the car and personally verified he didn't have a gun twice. What an absolute nut job.

Not defending the guy cuz this the worst police work since “Casey tase her”, but as a cop he should be on high alert for any gunshot like sounds, even though he is very very much in the wrong
A clear example video of why I dislike Pinguinz0 less and less by the day.. I love him ridiculing people, and the repercussions for this cop SHOULD be real, as this behavior is undesirable, AND it blew up for a reason, but it's just painful to hear this dumb@s$ commentary by some Gamer pu$sY who clearly never did anything besides ridicule people who are actually out there in the world. And I'm about to leave a reddit paragraph on it cuz this should be understood. Real life is not like a video game. If you are a real life cop and you assume a shot has been fired directly at you, (yes it was an object hitting the car next to him), there IS NO time to second guess yourself.. This isn't a videogame, you will die unless you take instant action, and roll away. The cop rolling an yelling was the smartest thing he could've done given his percieved situation. Undoubtedly part of his training. The man panics, the nature of being shot means your life could be over in the next 0.5 seconds, so this man follows his training, rolls, yells, and gets ready for retaliation. It's hard to react PERFECTLY when in such danger, and hard to tell how people will truly handle a situation like this until it happens. In this adrenaline filled moment, the cop understood intuitively that his body is rushing with adrenaline, everything hits him all at once and any pain deviation (like smacking his knee hard into the ground), might feel similar to the impact of a bullet. Hard to tell, and he is obviously scared. The shots he fires at first seem like an unforgivable action, after all, there is clearly nobody out there shooting at him, he couldn't have identified an offender with a gun.. It's important here to realize what not many people do: In real life, when you get shot and you can't exactly pinpoint the shooter, it's a life-saving strategy to cover-fire in the direction of the gunfire. In this scenario, the most important thing is that the shooter thinks he MIGHT be spotted, and in the immediate action will also, not take any chances, and take cover, stopping the attack temporarily. This offers the officer time to breathe and collect himself, or identify his surroundings better. Seeing as he knew the shot came from the car he was at, this shooter was (in his mind) extremely close to him, and he had even less time to breathe. Furthermore: given the perceived situation, the shooter must have been behind his car, where the initial shot missed him. There is really only a few things to critique here. 1. Him mistaking an object hitting his car as a gunshot. 2. Him having too little experience or control over his mind during life danger. Let me make this clear. This cop is NOT stupid, but his actions were undesirable, and as a human he is unfit to be on the force for many reasons. Charlie here is always calm-minded, which is why he would DIE in this situation, just as he does in his Lethal Company videos. He dies to every monster once, before he immediately learns to counter them. In real life, there are no second chances. And he himself admits to being an absolute pu$sy in any dangerous situation. Thanks for reading.
I feel bad for that partner. Clearly she had no choice but to come to this muppets aid like a good partner should do. But then to find out later it was all because of an acorn... man that must suck.
No!! She is another ‘nutjob’. You are told never to wildly unload your weapon without a target to shoot at. She dumped her weapon into nothing, could've hit the cuff dude, or citizens in the distant background. She too must be sanctioned for her titanic ignorance.
I read an article that tried to "explain" his actions. It talked about how he believed he was hit with a silenced weapon because his "legs went numb" after he heard the shot, that he was a decorated veteran and that department had some confrontations recently that put him on edge. Now lady's and gentleman what does that sound like? If you answered "the dude had a fucking panic attack and unloaded his weapon at an unarmed civilian" then you're right! Well I'm sympathetic to panic disorders, suffering one myself, the difference is I'm not always armed. It's weird to say but we're actually lucky it happened the way it did. For whatever reason the officer clearly didn't have a firm hold on his mental state and this incident clearly shows that. No one got hurt and I hope the officer can get counseling but he should NOT continue to serve on any sort of armed force. It's obvious he's gone past the point of stability if this is how he reacts to things that panic him.
My 3 year old niece will sometimes pretend that her sister hurt her to get her into trouble. Never thought I'd see the day an actual officer of the law did the same thing.
Really? They've done it for decades. I've seen a video of 2 officers wrestling a guy, and one officer shoots his partner in the leg. Shoots the guy in the back twice and kills him (despite him being subdued and unarmed to begin with). 99% sure that officer is still gainfully employed, too...

Very few in the military actually see combat. Regardless this guy clearly isn’t right in the head, for him to believe to have heard a gunshot tells me that they did not even try to properly screen him during the psych check up before clearing him for duty. Must be some sort of PTSD from some incident, maybe from outside of the military. Being a police officer contrary to popular belief is a very mentally draining job. There’s a lot of shit police officers see that is just as bad if not worse than what a soldier on the battlefield sees. That level of jumpiness doesn’t come from a healthy mind. Guy clearly has some issues that need to be straightened out. Psychiatric check ups on police officers need to be more thorough and frequent.

I don't think it was even an accident because they search the suspects before arresting them. They know he was unarmed handcuffed in a police vehicle, and the officer still shot at him several times.
What makes this even more unbelievable is that John Rambo already had the suspect handcuffed in his patrol vehicle so I'm assuming the idiot had to have searched the guy beforehand.
Thanks for reading.

human mind is a weapon of its own, we literally have no idea how he processed that, he could have past trauma from seeing his friends pass in service, doesnt necessarily need to be shot at to experience a mind response of fight or flight
Gross negligence. Discharging a firearm in city limits. Disorderly conduct. This cop should be in jail for a good while
He sadly only got fired
he clearly is suffering from mental illness. He needs help
He needs to be in a sanitarium.

If a normal civilian did this intentionally or not, they would be imprisoned for decades. This cop is going to be protected by everyone so they get nothing more than a slap on the wrist and that's really fucking unfair.
How the fuck could you defend this?
@@jonathanp954they do it all the time its wild the stuff cops get away with

They are never going to let him touch a gun again lol
@jonathanp954 the law really really likes cops
The fact that he fired his weapon multiple times, without seeing any threat is pretty… nuts
hAhaHaha.. hE sAid NUtS
I don't think it was even an accident because they search the suspects before arresting them. They know he was unarmed handcuffed in a police vehicle, and the officer still shot at him several times.
He didn't just fire multiple times, he dumped a mag indiscriminately and dropped his gun trying to reload. Insanely dangerous incompetence.
What makes this even more unbelievable is that John Rambo already had the suspect handcuffed in his patrol vehicle so I'm assuming the idiot had to have searched the guy beforehand. I mean this is absolute insanity like oh the guy I handcuffed and likely searched before locking in my squad car must have removed the handcuffs and pulled a silenced weapon out of his chamber of secrets! That must be it! Crazy...

A gunshot: the loudest bang that pierces your ears and echoes throughout the neighborhood

Instead, cops said he sat helpless in the back of the patrol car while a barrage of shots were fired at him by Hernandez and Roberts."
He was handcuffed and unable to do much so how could he fire a weapon. The offence was allegedly he stole a car but no charges were filed. It sounds like it wasn't even a violent crime he was detained for.
So weird...
There is no logic bro this guy is just a clown from dawn to dusk.
He apparently posted pictures of having both a can and a firearm to go with it. So that's where the "silenced weapon" came from. Even then, they searched and handcuffed him. So unless the dude is houdini and has a gun shoved up his ass, I don't see how he could have possibly opened fire with a silenced weapon.
My presumption is any charges were dropped after Officer Acorn bungled everything. Imagine the court case for that.
I believe he actually already sued the police department and got a fat check from it.
If it's important to point out that the detained guy is black then it's important to point out that the officer is brown.
@@mississippirougarouIt isn't, actually. That fact meaning that reaction for you is certainly telling though.
@@OrvergeIt kinda is. If you make it about race, that’s fine. skin color is irrelevant to me but if you start pointing it out then atleast paint the whole picture.
the only acorn I've ever seen causing this much chaos was in Ice Age
If the officer thought an acorn falling was a "suppressed weapon firing" he has never heard a suppressed weapon firing. Suppressors are not like movies, bullets are still loud.
what makes it even dumber is that apparently, they searched the dude before putting him in the patrol car.
the sound of something hitting the roof of a car is slightly similar to what a muffled gunshot from inside a car would sound, i know it sounds dumb but its true, id guess this cop is a combat veteran or something, not that this is a normal reaction and not that i mean to justify him at all, just one point of view, the sound of a rock bouncing off the hood of my car and making that dull thump definitely made me think so im guessing its a similar situation
It’s likely he could’ve experience ptsd flashbacks/psychosis that made it sound like a suppressed weapon firing. Either way he should not have been a police officer in the first place, it’s completely unacceptable to allow someone of this mental state to enforce the law.
