But I only wonder the amount of time they had to spend checking surfaces and different jumps in order to get over a certain spot. How can you even try to imagine to do something like that to see what's the result? Indeed, only the best can do that. Congratulations people!
Much of it is luck, rarely do you look for the glitches themselves. In that sense, you have to admire the Speedrun community, for collectively sharing the glitches they come accross, which slowly get compiled into what ultimately is the world record. In a sense, the WR speedrunner is carrying the flag of the work of thousands, across decades of encountering bugs and glitches. Trully awe inspiring.

In my opinion, Super Mario 64 was the last Mario game to attempt to make Bowser scary, or give him any sort of mystical quality. The Endless Stair, the way he talks to you from nowhere, the darkness up near the final portrait, and the relatively fearsome portrait itself are all signs of this. Ever since SM64 Bowser always has some sort of comical quality to him to take the edge off.
Ashanark I’m a 21 year old man, and when I hear that jingle that plays when you try to go into a door you’re not allowed in (koopa’s message plus laugh), I literally feel super uneasy inside. I hated it as a kid, and I can’t stand it now.
I wonder if game designers from this era ever watch what these players do in their games. I can only imagine how they must feel to watch people take advantage of all the game mechanics to do stuff like this.
Well to be fair at least in the case of THIS game, it's been almost 20 years since this game came out. So players were bound to find glitches sooner or later. Unless they wanted to pay someone to test it for 20 years.
Some people who made these games find it amusing that people can find these errors in programing. Most, however, are probably like "WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?"

In my opinion, Super Mario 64 was the last Mario game to attempt to make Bowser scary, or give him any sort of mystical quality. The Endless Stair, the way he talks to you from nowhere, the darkness up near the final portrait, and the relatively fearsome portrait itself are all signs of this. Ever since SM64 Bowser always has some sort of comical quality to him to take the edge off.

I wonder if game designers from this era ever watch what these players do in their games. I can only imagine how they must feel to watch people take advantage of all the game mechanics to do stuff like this.
Well to be fair at least in the case of THIS game, it's been almost 20 years since this game came out. So players were bound to find glitches sooner or later. Unless they wanted to pay someone to test it for 20 years.
Some people who made these games find it amusing that people can find these errors in programing. Most, however, are probably like "WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?"
