Artura owner here. Highly recommended. Perhaps the best car I’ve ever owned. Got every update and campaign done before I bought it used. Keep in mind, 4 or 5 year warranty AND 3 years maintenance included! Amazing car and they stand behind it. And when the spider comes out, free software upgrade to 700hp.
Yes indeed. Vega blue. 2000 miles total, I’ve added 1000. Really nothing on the road that comes close. The Ferrari is $100k more. I can drive it 3 years with ZERO maintenance cost. Pure enjoyment
675lt is likely to appreciate, 720s will depreciate slower than the 600lt, 570s won’t hold value as well as the 650 or 12c, gt is probably better buy than a 570
I did purchase my MP4-12C from Thorney Motorsport. A very early car, 2011 and VIN00065. Purchased with just over 38k miles, & now just under 50k miles in 20mths 👍🏻 For me I love the appearance of a 12C, but even better is the driving experience 👌 As you state, buy the right car; history, ownership, service and vendor. I’ve had an air con re-gas, and an air bag sensor. I’ve obviously purchased my car to drive it. The driving experience; feel, feedback, performance (and attention) is worth every penny of depreciation (due to mileage) IMHO. Note. I’ve also taken the plastic covers of my new sofa 😂 You’re welcome to test drive, looks and drives like new 👌
Warranty ; I don’t bother on my 570 spider; just spent the money on the cars maintenance. Just a counterpoint, I also have Ferrari California T and I had extended warranty/service pack on that at £4k pa … but Maranello still managed to find £3k of ‘non essential’ work that they wanted me to pay for… such as spark plugs at £900 🤦🏻♂️. Local specialists told me ‘nope they actually only cost £18each plug”… so Macca not the only marque out there playing fast and loose with customer service 🤔
Thanks for the comment 👍🏻 The margin with Ferrari is insane. They're the most profitable car company by some way... And what you've just said is exactly the reason why.
Completely glossed over the 650s. The most reliable, with the 675LT and amazing value. My pick up to £100k. Also over looked the 570GT. If couse over £100k has to be 675LT 😊
@TABonTV 570GT was my pick of the sports series, back in the day. I once drove one at a mclaren day back to back with my 12C (at the time) and a 570s. It had a glass roof and a side hinged glass tailgate like an e type. It was about 5% more relaxed in its settings than a 570S. They lent me one for 3 or 4 days and it was like a relaxed 570s. Strangly I could not fit the luggage I took out of my 12C into the 570GT. 650S remains my McLaren pick at all price points until 675LT. The 650s is just such a well rounded car, perhaps why Lord Metcalf bought one?
Having for a lot of research on the 570s recently I wouldn’t get a warranty from Thorney or McLaren. If the car has been ppi’d by Thorney or v-engineering it should be good to go. Ideally maintained with them too. Thorney have also confirmed it’s a £10k per item limit for their warranty. Also, McLaren have reduced the sports series extended warranty to £300 ish. It’s all about doing your research, understanding the ‘known issues’ ensuring the car has been maintained by the best people and then you should be fine.
Exactly, many folk running these without warranties just fine. Yes they're going to need bits doing but it's unlikely it's going to be more than an annual warranty payment. Put the money in the bank, if something comes up you've got a fund. If it doesn't - you've got a holiday.
Owned 570 Spider for 5 years. Still love it. Kept in dealer network and that has been good as they have fixed things when out of warranty (paint corrosion and new door hinges as I have been “loyal”). I can’t justify upgrading it to Artura or 720 as have other cars to play with like GR Yaris and California T (just did 3000 miles down to Ibiza and it was a joy; perfect GT, but shite on track 🤭).
Sports cars may be the most pointless invention there is.... depreciate for the most part, ridiculous maintenance cost... just so you can what.... drive faster? lol
Paying 100+k just to move quickly is crazy but hey, you're right. I've owned a McLaren, and got extremely bored of it after like 6 months lol. That's when I realised the cost was insane for what you get (going fast lmao). The thrill wears off extremely quickly

Yes! Glad you're enjoying it, I'm guessing it's the one in your avatar there. Great cars 👍🏻

I would say that's a pretty good guess 👍🏻
I just drove my 570s 2,000 miles around Europe & it was a dream! Will be uploading a video on it
Great video again mate!
Sounds like you had a good time! Much appreciated 👍🏻
I'd definitely pick the 600LT as my first choice then Artura.
Yeah, good shout. Both looking good at the moment!
Bought a 570gt from Thorney Motorsport in Jan done 3000 miles had a battery issue but that’s all..done two trackdays 👍
Great to hear this!

Fantastic! You bought it from the right place too! Hope it gives you many happy miles. Might take you up on that offer, be good to feature it! 👍🏻
@@TABonTVno problem. Let me know. I’m based in North East Essex.

I did call out Harry's video on his 650s as a good watch. What's a 570GT? 😉😃 I've only ever seen one tbf.

For me the GT is the one. That's my sort of car.
Love my 650S spyder
As an average joe
A £130'000 720s seems to cover all bases and needs no explanation why you own one.

I used work close to the service area and would see and hear these gorgeous cars.
They look fantastic 👍🏻
Thought you would touch on the 650s, what are your thoughts on it?
Good spot, video was getting a bit long. Great cars too. Have a watch of the Harry's garage video on his. Lots of useful info.
I don’t get it, you pay 2850 GBP for a warranty that only covers up to 10k GBP per claim?
You don't need to, many folk run these without any warranty at all.
