I just fucken floor it and cruise at 110mph in the fast lane then I’m not part of the issue of traffic buildup cuz I’m fucken gone and all the issues are behind me. At that speed I don’t add to any congestion or slow anyone down at all ever in any way

Good news! The penalty for lane hogging in the UK is £100 fine and three penalty points on your driving licence.

It madness that if you drive at 68mph in the left lane you commit an offence if you drive passed some dickhead in the middle lane doing 50 mph. (Assuming all lanes are empty for 1km either way).

It should be no surprise to any Taycan or ev owner. As a 4s owmer myself its totally gutwrenching and i would never buy any ev that is so expensive ever again. And no, its jot a proper GT.

I've stopped being surprised at how many lane 2 and 3 hogs I undertake just doing 70 in lane 1. And before the "undertaking is illegal" mob jump in, undertaking is not illegal if you're doing the speed limit.

I brought mine 20 months ago - a dream to drive, but biggest mistake I ever made. Broke down several times. On the latest brake recall they did a complimentary health check on 5th November and spotted a 9mm chassis dent, anything over 3mm is apparently a major flag. Investigating if the battery was damaged and a new plate to cover was £3.5k, I said I wanted a second opinion and was told I'd invalidate my warranty if anyone else touched the car. So I authorised that work and on 16th December was told the battery was damaged and I'm still waiting for a new battery to be fitted. No courtesy car available for the past few weeks and I'm self employed. In the meantime I've had a battery recall letter too. Worst experience I've ever had with a brand. Such a shame as the car is a beauty but I won't have anything Porsche again after this experience.

Just do the speed limit in the left lane, they're in the wrong lane, you're just continuing at the posted speed limit in the correct lane

You see the issue with your theory is that it’s correct but you missed the obvious, if everybody believes that there is a fast and slow lane, there will be fast and slow lanes, typical case of stuff doesn’t happen just because you want it to

I think about this quite a bit. The idea of expensive cars losing value isn't really new. It's perhaps new again to Porsche, but cars are a depreciating asset. I would love to buy a used Taycan, and at some point probably will, but I can see how new car buyers would be reluctant to lose a chunk of change. Anyway, I think that will be temporary - people are going to realise, especially with the facelift car, that the battery lasts a loooong time and as ICE cars go out of production the market will pick up. I'd say buying a Taycan Turbo now, used, might be a pretty low risk.

Most private buyers won’t consider it a GT car. Maybe in 10 years time. In the meantime it could be close to half of the original after 12 months. Bargain if you really want one, otherwise a terrible idea new for private buyers.

If you like your Taycans like I do this thing is insane. Dealer came up with a deal to get me out of the old one. Honestly at 200K these are a bargain....

I love my white with grey interior 2007 SL55 AMG R230 with the rare P030 option. It is immaculate, and the most well designed and most powerful car I have ever owned, and I have owned many special cars. Just so you know they are super cars. In 02 the R230 was the fastest production car in the world, but they do have a speed limiter set at the factory. I have owned mine for over 5 years. With the P30 option, speed limiter reset and the right tires I can, I am told by Mercedes, push it to a top speed of 202 mph. I personally know I can get mine from zero to 60 in just under 4 seconds but the track has to be dry, I will spin the tires otherwise. I have taken it out on track day and it is an absolute hoot to drive. The exhaust note is superb. In Canada it cost close to 200,000 cents new. So, needless to say, I am the second owner. Mine is and has been very well maintained since new, but with that said, anyone considering buying one must understand these cars are highly tuned, technical for their time, parts are hard to come by and as such every one of them regardless of condition are very expensive to maintain. I am very lucky because I have a Mercedes trained independent mechanic. To keep it simple, I drive my car, called Patron, 2-3000 kilometres per year, it now has 67,000 kms on the odometer. It lives happily in a heated and humidified garage with the car cover on (no mice) with a trickle charger. I do drive it in the winter but only when it is sunny, otherwise it is brought up to temperature and idled. It is seldom driven in the rain. It gets fluids changed as needed during maintenance every year. Even so, my baby costs a bundle. Not including insurance, my maintenance costs are between 4,000-6,000 dollars per year, every year. Those costs includes tires (the last four tires timed out after 9 years) a ceramic polish, new ECU, new transmission module, all new batteries (twice), all new lubricants (including roof and ABC), ABC pump (not struts), rear transmission seal, all 4 brakes, valve cover seals, and I have all records and papers since new. Just so you know the P30 option has 510 hp with 530 ft/lbs of torque, limited slip differential, second oil cooler, track timers, SL65 body panels and the quirks found in the 01-06 cars were fixed for the late 06- early 08 models. It also has many other great options such as the pano roof. These cars truly are beasts, but completely under appreciated by many enthusiasts. Mine has pride of place in my garage sitting next to my 2023 E450 All Terrain Estate. Note: I live in Canada. I look forward to seeing updates of this car on the channel which I liked and subscribed to. Cheers

I have 2 Weissachs on order for July delivery. They are just special order, no dealer inventory It's not difficult to get a Turbo GT though.

I have a friend who worked in the McLaren factory. The question you have to ask is: 'Who built my car?' And that is an answer you can't get hold of. I have spoken to a few track owners and they say Ferraris, McLaren, and Lambos all have issues when they turn up. Porsches don't. And considering the 991 GT3 engine (And the 4.0 G variant isn't immune from this) is a liability, that says all you need to know. I think if you are happy driving the car around to south of France, a car park, or a show and want the 'experience', it's a choice Track work and it falls apart. Do you see any Nürburgring videos? Not many. Mischa has a few, but if you look at a Porsche there are loads. So speculator? No McLaren is going to make money like you would if you invest said money in the S&P500. And with the money you make, you could rent a car for the odd weekend you might use it and no worries.

Hi. Buy a used GT you like with the options you can use and are your highlighted options! Is it a GT? Well, it depends on your personal opinion! Sure, it has 4 doors! But it's practically a good choice! You know that if you drive with your family or and your pets! Has it to be a Weissach? No! Only if you want to check the last second of the lap time! The normal GT with all the tech options is the fastest you can get. For ICE lovers no EV could be an option! Never! If you wait about another 5 months you will be able to get a GT for about 125.000! That's okay! Your question is, are you strong enough to beat the EV haters against a really top Sportscar? 😉 I only tell you again the story of our alpine tour in Tirol where the ICE Porsches couldn't beat our Taycan 4S Cross Turismo!!! Throughout that we drove this 365 km tour in one row with 95 km rest in the battery while the ICE brother's had to pickup a fuel station 30 km before goal! 👈 And we used the A/C the whole tour also while parking for our two dalmatians!! So, don't worry about all the people picking on EVs... 😉 😂 Take care! 👍

I didn’t realise you were such a scruffy sod.😂 definitely punching above your weight there😂 I have the SL55 2003 and also the SL 600 I couldn’t agree with you more about the ABC Suspension but I find it comes into play best in windy country roads. I’ve just had my hip done and I didn’t use either of them for six weeks neither of them at all on the Suspension. Definitely you need to keep it plugged in whilst unattended. I bought the SL 600 from Matthewson’s, you want to watch the video it came up with the warning about the second battery and they said okay the roof does not work we’re selling it without the roof working. It’s classified as a hard top! Dopey sods. By the way, don’t believe Derek Mathewson‘s persona on the television programme. It’s bugger all to do with how he is in real life!

I paid $145k for a 2023 Taycan Turbo S with loads of options. It sat on lot with dealer for over 16 months. Would you consider this to be a good buy? Lmk.

You made the right choice! I gave up my launch year GT4 allocation and I’m glad I did due to the poor gear ratios, but sadly I don’t think I’ll be given future allocations of Porsches 😢

I am happy with my preFL Turbo, I absolutely see no point for a new GT, looks ugly (and the paddles and buttons at the steering wheel look childish) and I dont know where and when I would really be able to have use of the extra power.

That £149k is retail price, so knock off at least another 10-20% to get to the trade price to calculate the actual depreciation for the first owner. Also, you can hand back your Taycan and walk away without the dealer refusing to buy it back.

I gotta be honest, people sit in the middle and right lane going so slowly that I now just undertake these utter morons. Going 50mph on a motorway in those lanes is just dangerous

I have had my Taycan 4s for four years now and have driven 100,000 kilometers with it. No problem with the batteries so far. Had a lot of software problems in the first two years. Now everything works fine. There is a recall action in the Netherlands for the batteries of some years of construction. My Taycan is apparently not among them I hope.

In Germany there are posters showng a queue of cars in their overtaking lane with nothing in the normal lane. Caption just says "And you?"

In my European country Taycans are still expsivr asf! The cheapest you can find used would be around 50k GBP ... This depreciation only applies to specific places like the UK/US etc

this is such an awful issue to have on the taycans. I was considering getting a CPO, but it seems like these cars are too much of a fking headache to buy even at 60% off msrp. pretty sad. Would expect better from porsche.
