where would we be in life without karsten's observations honestly. "he's like the joker but happy" "new york city is where they filmed elf" "timothee chalamet isn't cute in dune" is what keeps the world spinning
I was next to you washing my hands in the bathroom after a press screening of either C’mon C’mon or Dune. Didn’t say anything but just know I thought your jacket was sick
YES Thank you for the mention of the sounds of dune....they are amazing. I feel like a lot of reviewers have totally looked over it to talk about the visuals. Score is amazing, sound design is amazing. Loved it so much I have seen it twice already
I just saw Hit The Road yesterday for LFF, it was great! Definitely best use of 2001 in a film. I love the family dynamic and how uncertain of where the road was leading.
In regards to "Passing", I've been a fan of the book all through college. It is short, interesting, and very detailed. Definitely recommend. Interested in how it works on film.
can't wait to hear more of your thoughts on c'mon c'mon! it's my favorite movie of the year so far. got to see an early screening at the nashville film festival and absolutely adored it.
I went to NYC in August 2022 when they were showing Memoria at IFC Center. I wanted to go but we never went. Just as well, that was probably my only chance of ever seeing it.
As a New Yorker who's born and raised here, I can assure you that NYC is not the greatest city in the world, the people here are FAR from being kind and the subway system is total ass
I am so excited for Dune I really can't explain it. I have no relationship with the source material whatsoever, but the production has me hooked. Especially Hans Zimmer. This is a man who I think has been fairly criticized for monotonizing Hollywood sound along with his united artists record group, but Dune seems like it could possibly be the peak of his career. The man turns down Tenet, to choose not to work with Nolan, to allegedly invent new instruments for this one, which is amazing considering I feel like his past 3 year have been somewhat phoned in. repurposed
Looking at the thumbnail up close on google images, I don't think it was meant to be taken as clickbait or believed-- it's just a really funny edit, I mean, Karsten's expression is super goofy and it's clearly fake, I don't think he was actually trying to hide it. The problem is, thumbnails are really small and I don't think any of us could tell when we initially clicked lmao

I really like the way you give enough information to make us excited about a movie but not spoil it. Love your work!

There will always be next year. Start saving money now, as the festival is highly recommended.

As a guy who's been there once I agree
He probably never just seen anything bad happen on it. He’s lucky.
