This 'toy' train-set denigrated the history of Auckland trams. It was known as 'The Tram To Nowhere', super over-priced at $10 per ticket for a 10 minute ride through a construction site. Big ups to the drivers who swallowed their pride and embarrassment and did their jobs. An homage to MELBOURNE trams, with nothing to do with Auckland. Good on ya Auckland Council for killing it...but sad that you spent more than 8 Million of our hard-earned dollars on it.
Well I would like to say that things have now changed for the better The prices are very cheap for some with the most expensive tickets being 2 dollars And while it is true that they maybe melbourne trams getting a tram from auckland is no simple feat as they would take several years for restoration of one of the remaining auckland trams And there were plans for it to reach the maritime museum with the plans being scrapped due to weight restrictions on the new purposed bridge to which has now resulted a deadline on the tramway
dockline trams run again feb 7 2021
