lol I'm just reading this now and it's so classic! That's actually a tiny helmet camera in my hand... the Sony action cams have a pretty great built in mic for when you don't have a real mic to hold, the bad part is that you have to edit out all that footage of nose hair, and you look like a moron for holding an invisble mic ;)
You're exactly-right on the reasons at least for me of shying away from the self-install. I figured I'd screw it up! And there are so many options out there, deciding where to put your money when you don't know the differences between them is key. Another top-notch video Tyler. Thanks!
I put one on my KLR a few years ago and it made long days possible. I've a couple of 700 mile days on the saddle now. I took it to an upholstery shop which did the work quickly and cheaply and perfectly.
That's a pretty good price. I was super cheap and tried to do it myself. I bought 1m*2 of marine vinyl, and some closed cell foam. That cost about $40 total, and then I spent about 4 hrs reshaping/extending and reupholstering the seat. I cant tell you how big of a PITA upholstering an off road seat is, when the cover isn't contoured like a pattern sewn one. It works loads better, but there's a catch... I value my time at about $100 per hr. That means it was actually less economical to do it from scratch. I could have just gone through seat concepts, and finished it in 30 min, then spent the rest of the time either riding or investing in my human capital. Sigh. I guess the plus side is that I learned a new skill, even if I probably won't ever use it again. Thanks for the vid, Tyler.
I've installed two of these (Seat Concepts), myself, and it's really not hard to do. Important to have a good air stapler with a narrow nose to get in the tight spots. They look great and ride even better.
I bought a seat concepts kit and installed it myself on my V-strom. It fit well enough, maybe a little extra material on the front corners. Once installed, it looked fine. I found the regular density foam too soft for my 240 lbs. I wish I had gone with the denser foam and the regular height model. The tall version was even taller than the Suzuki tall seat. For the money, it's a good choice if you get the right version for your body type. It just didn't work out for me and I just cut my losses and reinstalled my factory cover and foam.
I remember when gripper seats first came out, or went main stream anyways... it was THE THING to have... one of the first mods people made back in the early 00's.
Great video... I replaced the Suzuki brand 2x4 wrapped in vinyl on my DR650 with a seat concepts a couple years ago and I am still loving it for short and prolonged butt comfort. Originally I was gonna break down and buy one of the $$$ seats but After reading tons and tons of reviews I decided I'd try the seat concepts product before forking over a ton of dough .. Let's just say that high dollar seat was never purchased and the decision was never a regret and a new pair of boots came in the mail instead of a seat thanks in part to the money I saved. They truly do make a quality product and installation was a breeze.
Seat concepts has never sent me a dime and I also say go buy their products! You and your butt will not be sorry. They are by far the best on the market.
Love the microphone mate!!! Having a look at the prices has really made this an easy decision. I have been after a new seat for a while but didn't realise that they made them for V-Stroms....... another future purchase going on the list :-) and with a dealer here in Australia not to far from me it's as good as it gets!!
Another excellent informative and entertaining video Mr. EveRide. How many Doritos were harmed in the making of...? LOL!! The motorcycle media (including yourself) have been raving about Seat Concepts for a couple years now. My EXC lives it's life as a dirt bike, with only very short stints on pavement. Dirt riding the stock seat works pretty well, but it doesn't take long on the road to get that 2x4 feeling! Probably not enough to push me over to buying one. But I can tell you that if I did even a little bit more road work, I'd have one on the orange princess in a heartbeat!
HAAAHAHaaahaa we all loved this one! Very good vid, very entertaining. Budge says that it must've been really hard to get off, because it was so grippy! Well done on the aftermarket cush. Love it
Great video Tyler, I was thinking about the Wayne's world scene where he swears to never sellout to corporate sponsors, lol! Hopefully you hit 40k soon! Let's make this happen people
This is definitely on my shopping list. I've heard the good reviews but shied away because of the reported difficulty. Doesn't look that hard, even if I won't have friend with fun. Great video!
Nice overview of the install, Tyler. Glad to know one needn't be a highly skilled DIY-type to be successful. May need to change my Gutz seat on the DR350SE for longer rides - after I re-do the suspension, which seems awfully soft, but it's a good reliable rig.
I got one for my DRZ and I just ordered the foam and cover. However, while I might be mechanically inclined, I am not upholsterically inclined. I took it to a local seat shop and they switched it to the stock pan. They did a great job, but in the end I didn't save much over buying the complete seat, which I will do when I order one for my 690.
I have the Low Step Seat (Gripper Top / Carbon Fiber Sides, Seat Options: Complete Seat) on my 2008 KLR650 with the standard foam density. Their seat pan is rather nice btw. I bought my bike used and not only is the standard seat uncomfortable but the previous owner had torn a hole in it were his right leg/foot rubbed on it when he dismounted. I bought the whole seat set so I wouldn't have to be without a seat for any period of time plus I plan on sending in the stock seat pan and maybe also getting the commuter which looks rather nice as well. The low step is excellent and much improved over the stock seat but the thin part near the tank can still be rather uncomfortable when you're up there for control. Farther back is super cushy. I didn't really need the low step as I'm already 6' but when my feet go down now they're totally firmly planted and my butt is slightly off the seat which is nice for dismounting or stretching at stop lights. My only really minor complaint with the service is that Seat Concepts didn't send me any emails besides the auto generated ones regarding my order status.
+Jimmy Caviasca Man I was a bit apprehensive about how it would feel on the dirt bike. Turns out it's just as comfy as it is on the DRZ! I'm VERY happy!
I've read up nothing but positive things about Seat Concepts. It seems like an easy task to complete. This will certainly be one of my top things to do to a bike whenever I manage to get one.
+Aberix It makes a mighty difference, that's for sure. For super long trips on a dual sport adding a sheep skin is even better, but the seat alone is so much better than stock!
I have another aftermarket seat on my F800GS and later put a seat concepts standard height gripper top on my DRZ. I've finally gotten around to ordering another seat concepts cover for my F800GS factory seat and looking forward for when it gets here!
Since I put a hole in my CB500x seat with a bungie hook I think I will have to give Seat Concepts a shot this summer. I am curious how they effect passenger comfort, for example the KLR commuter seat there.
+ChaoticDetour I think the commuter seat is designed for one rider, but they have a few alternates for the KLR since it's such a popular bike. In my experience, the back of the seat is just as comfortable as the front because there's good surface area :)
hahaha, too funny! I love his name for "the pliers"... Hope you don't need that plastic for the reason you stated, I HATE it when that happens! Another great video! Keep em coming!
on my 4th seat concepts now they are about a 5 hour ride away on dirt so I just ride up they install and I ride back makes a great day. fyi the holding invisible microphone looks weird
Tyler's working on something? Quick! Grab the popcorn! Hey stop laughing you're going to choke! :D Sent you a message to help your pealing issues bud. Read the spray adhesive... you are supposed to put it on both things you intend to glue, let it tack up and then put them together.
@everRide ADV, i was wondering if you had any trouble getting the cover on the drz with the electric staple gun? Im undertaking this task tomorrow and do not have access to a pneumatic staple gun.
How do I get that exact seat cover? I see the low model on their website but it seems like I can only change the fabric and not the color of the fabric.
+David Nichols Thanks David! Have you got a SC? I've been really, REALLY impressed with mine over time. The one on my DRZ has been abused for nearly 3 years now and it's still going strong, and comfy!
Just be carefull when you order one, the price can almost be double as the advertised price. I payed 192€ shipping costs to Belgium, thats the same amount as the price of the seat!! It said 90$ shipping costs on the webshop. But once UPS came on my door with the package i had to pay another 102€! :o
i got the gripper top mostly b/c you recommended it in one of your earlier videos. Its funny I hated it for the first couple of days, but once i broke it in it was SUPER comfy, no gooch pain =D Also, I know this is off topic, but what lift do you use for the DRZ? I saw a black one there
+KS Dualsporter That's my "mic"... it's actually the Sony AS100v action cam, but it has such good audio it performs a lot better than many of the mics I've tried. So that thing is actually filming up my nose the whole time :D
Seat Concept seats are truly great seats, but I wouldn't recommend getting one for the XT250. It's really nothing more the a wider version of the OEM. There is no difference in comfort when riding any longer then a quick hop into town. The gripper cover is awesome, I did love that for wet riding and trails. Even Seat Concepts themselves admit the XT250 isn't worth the time or effort to make a better seat. As with everything in regards to the XT250, careful what you buy for it. Nobody takes the bike seriously, so what little aftermarket is available for it ends up being half ass.
I truly love your videos eveRide. Thank you for your content. This was an awesome tutorial! However....please do us a favor and re-edit this one with a CGI microphone in your hand at the beginning. Thanks buddy. Keep up the GREAT work. Sub'd.
Hey Guys, With the different seat concepts materials. Im not sure which material to go with. So I was just wondering what is the most popular material people are going with. in my head im thinking just the standard vinal. So what does everyone think?... Fire away! :)
Alternative lifestyle pliers! Haha that’s great my guys at work are gonna laugh their asses off when I use this.
forget the seat cover where do u get the invisible microphone
Haha I know you posted this comment quite a while ago but this shit had me laughing so hard!
lol I'm just reading this now and it's so classic! Stop, he has a prosthetic HAND. Or arm.
Stephen Piccini lol you beat me to that...by 10 months

Harbor Freieght 18 Gauge 2-in-1 Air Nailer/Stapler. About $22 and it is a game changer for seat covers.
I've installed two of these (Seat Concepts), myself, and it's really not hard to do. Important to have a good air stapler with a narrow nose to get in the tight spots. They look great and ride even better.

What seat option did you chose for your 650 Grip, low, commuter? I'm planning to score one.
Seat concepts has never sent me a dime and I also say go buy their products! You and your butt will not be sorry. They are by far the best on the market.

Added a seatconcepts low to my drz after seeing your previous comments about them, couldn't be happier. still hoping they make one for my BMW rninet.
+Daniel Jacobs I'd give them a call. I've heard they're great at shaping foam etc for any bike :)
definitely can appreciate the budget friendly-ness! thanks, Tyler!
+Christian Olsen You're always welcome, Christian! :)
I have one on my old xt350. Very comfortable seat, and you are right, the grip is really cool.
Just put a Seat Concepts seat on my DRZ yesterday, best upgrade you can make for the money!
Another excellent informative and entertaining video Mr. EveRide. How many Doritos were harmed in the making of...? LOL!! Thanks for the review! Always good to have your opinion.
eveRide Do they offer custom logo stitching on their seats? If not...they should.
Gotta love Seat Concepts... they've saved my rear more times than I can count!
I put a low cut gripper comfort seat on my wr250r and it is AMAZING. Blows the stock seat out of the water.
I'm very happy the Seat Concepts saddle that I put on my 690 Enduro.
Great video Tyler, I was thinking about the Wayne's world scene where he swears to never sellout to corporate sponsors, lol! Hopefully you hit 40k soon! Let's make this happen people
+back fire Whoa 40k? Haha when did that get close! :D Someday I'm going to remake that wayne's world scene word for word while decked out in Klim ;)
+eveRide ADV 522 to go! Please do that would be epic! 👍🏻
This is definitely on my shopping list. I've heard the good reviews but shied away because of the reported difficulty. Doesn't look that hard, even if I won't have friend with fun. Great video!
Great video man, clicked on your link and just purchased a seat. Keep up the great reviews

On my list of definite To-Do's for Miss Yamimoto !
+Steve Wk nice !!

just got mine for the WR...black top , blue sides and low seat height. this thing is legit and your ass will be happy
They even got one for my TR650. And it looks really good. Might get one in the near future!
I just ordered foam and cover 2 days ago for my 07 wr250f! thanks for the reassuring review
+Jimmy Caviasca Man I was a bit apprehensive about how it would feel on the dirt bike. Turns out it's just as comfy as it is on the DRZ! I'm VERY happy!

two things did you glue the plastic to the foam and the electric staple is the best way to go.
got my low foam and cover kit for my drz on its way!
I love mine. I got the commuter too. I which they did them for cruisers.
Definitely will be getting one of these for the DRZ someday, but for now being a poor college student a sore but will have to do for now :)
hahahh the "how to" part made me laugh. Well done. I had one on my old bike and LOVED it.
Had the seat concepts low on my wr250r. Loved it
I ordered one for my wr450 last week. hoping it will be here this week
That was a great video!! Gotta look into that for my KLR! The factory cover as a couple rips in it anyway!
Love my seat concepts on my tiger. Night and day difference from stock! And as you mentioned 160 where the next cheapest option for a good one was 480
Did this to my 06 KTM 450xc seat & it looks great.
Since I put a hole in my CB500x seat with a bungie hook I think I will have to give Seat Concepts a shot this summer. I am curious how they effect passenger comfort, for example the KLR commuter seat there.

Read the spray adhesive... you are supposed to put it on both things you intend to glue, let it tack up and then put them together.
I might need a thicker plastic barrier! lol good video. going to add this to my list of things for the DRZ.
Love my seat concepts on my CRF250L.. top notch
@everRide ADV, i was wondering if you had any trouble getting the cover on the drz with the electric staple gun? Im undertaking this task tomorrow and do not have access to a pneumatic staple gun.
Where did you get the bolts that you used to install your rear street legal kit
Beautiful work matie! !!!! vinyl roll for the bung hole... got rhymes???
Should I get gripper material or diamante? Going on an Africa twin
How do I get that exact seat cover? I see the low model on their website but it seems like I can only change the fabric and not the color of the fabric.
Nice review, shared to the Facebook Kawasaki KLR650 Owners group
+David Nichols Thanks David! Have you got a SC? I've been really, REALLY impressed with mine over time. The one on my DRZ has been abused for nearly 3 years now and it's still going strong, and comfy!
+eveRide ADV No, I'm still using the Coleman ATV cover
What brand of microphone is that? It looks lightweight!
guys cutting and sneezing... bless you..
+Matt Blackburn (SuperTenere) Hahaha thanks :D
do you know what the difference in feel is like with a gel seat vs seat concept? I'm told my klr650 had stock seat replaced with gel seat.
Anyone know if you can buy a whole seat from seat concepts? If i wanted too keep my stock seat too..
why haven't you made a walkthrough about the wr250 build
DR650, what would you recommend, gripper top, low, commuter, standard?. I ride mostly dirt road, relaxed single track. Wanting to try one out.
That bike looks so good. Dang.
Good stuff! Looks like a quality product
For a DRZ400SM, would you recommend the low slip top or gripper top? Looking to go with the carbon fiber sides regardless.
Have you done a video on your lightbar?
+Andrew LaBelle Not quite yet :) That'll be a super special vid! :D
I would love to put one on my klx250; alas they do not make one for my bike, yet. I am hoping they will decide to do one soon.
Yes they have one. I have one on 2009 klx 250 sf
just put a Seat Concepts commuter seat on my DR650, what a difference.
very nice video as always!!! Can i have your opinion on the yamaha xt660r?
You should open a paint shop. I could only ever hope my dr could look as good as your drz :D
what kind of spray did you use on the seat?
Great review. I'll have to check them out!
easily one of your funniest videos man
my seat has shipped and just waiting for it to come in. hope this fixes my aching butt.
Does Seat Concepts use factory seat pans?
Man, I'm so close to buying one of those for the klr. Before or after the dash....?
+Twistygrip KLR Me too man!!! I have no problems with the install of the seat, however...is the KLR seatconcepts seat REALLY that good?
We shall see!
haha let me know!! I reckon i'd buy the seat before the klr dash - comfort first! Good luck!
i got the gripper top mostly b/c you recommended it in one of your earlier videos. Its funny I hated it for the first couple of days, but once i broke it in it was SUPER comfy, no gooch pain =D
Also, I know this is off topic, but what lift do you use for the DRZ? I saw a black one there
Yep seat concepts rocks!
Do you know anyone that has a seat concepts on a Tiger 1050.. I need a new seat cover but the one they show online looks kinda funny.
Put one on y XR650L a few months ago. Super nice and the price is less than half what a Corbin etc. are.
+Mark Jacobs It's pretty crazy what a little elbow grease in the form of a cover/foam install can save! :)
So much bang for buck, it's kind of unbelievable!
Informative, yet hilarious video!
Good job at the beginning I guess you had a mic in your hand but all I could think of was Bob Dole Bob Dole! don't Know if you got it?
I have one on my DRZ400E.... It's very nice.
I hope they make one for an ancient XR200....
What are you holding in your right hand?
+KS Dualsporter That's my "mic"... it's actually the Sony AS100v action cam, but it has such good audio it performs a lot better than many of the mics I've tried. So that thing is actually filming up my nose the whole time :D
do u have other wr250f video's?
Great vid! I want one
I'm definitely going to get one for my DRZ! My butt will thank me!
+Mark Pursell It most certainly will! Honestly it made a gigantic difference!
i gotthe tall one and its way better then stock
+Tenny80 yeah I'm thinking about getting the lower one.
Thumbs up for Super Entertaining!
I just got one for my bike. $169 + $50 shipping + $50 currency exchange + $50 custome fee = I haven't installed it yet. I hope its worth it.
Another job well done
now take some time an clean up that garage
or go for a ride
your choice
Seat Concept seats are truly great seats, but I wouldn't recommend getting one for the XT250. It's really nothing more the a wider version of the OEM. Uncle Fuzz oohhhh f*#!....just bought one....
I truly love your videos eveRide. Thank you for your content. This was an awesome tutorial!
However....please do us a favor and re-edit this one with a CGI microphone in your hand at the beginning. Thanks buddy. Keep up the GREAT work. Sub'd.
I was watching this video and my girlfriend said "I really like his voice" lol Tyler aka "Mr. Steal your girl" haha
+Kenneth Renshaw Haha what's weird is I think I always sound nasally and high-pitched. I guess nobody likes the sound of their own voice :D
Hey Guys, With the different seat concepts materials. Im not sure which material to go with. So I was just wondering what is the most popular material people are going with.
in my head im thinking just the standard vinal. So what does everyone think?... Fire away! :)
“Alternative lifestyle pliers “. LMAO
I actually got the pan with mine. It was still 150 bucks cheaper.
