Either I've never been good at recognizing hunger and satiety cues, or my body doesn't produce them correctly... Either way, for someone who struggles with eating when full and stopping when hungry, I'd highly recommend leaning into the *enjoyment* of cooking and eating a good meal. If you are excited to eat the things you like, you're less likely to skip and/or forget meals, which can help to prevent binge-eating later in the day. To prevent overeating at mealtime, try starting with smaller portions and going back if you still feel hungry. There is something to be said about the psychology of a clean plate and satiety... So it makes to add less food to a smaller plate and go back if you need it. :) Just sharing what has worked for me.
I’m autistic so I only feel “hungry” when I haven’t eaten all day I don’t feel hunger I only feel pain and fatigue of not eating, I only think “oh yea I should eat” when I can barely walk anymore from how I haven’t eaten and I dont know when I full either so that advice might not be for everyone
I have a tip for cravings. Eat what you crave, but eat slowly and enjoy every single bite as much as you can. Soon your taste receptors will be satisfied and you might be stuffed with just a few bites of your dessert. The reason we always have room for dessert is cuz of cravings. When you eat slowly and really enjoy it, you usually don't feel the need to eat all of it anymore.

Intermittent fasting is essentially what I was doing as a teen trying to heal her eating disorder. I would not eat at school or on the morning. And had clubs after school almost every day so I wouldn’t eat until dinner. But every time I would be starving and actually gain more weight when I do eat healthier because my body is used to the, “SAVE ALL THE FAT AND NUTRITION FOR WHEN SHE TORTURES US AGAIN”. Yet, look at our food culture! Fast food and processed crap is cheap and abundantly available. We all KNOW what the basic answer is, but our lifestyles don't reflect the choice to implement it
I personally don't like using the word processed as much because processed foods include cheese, a well chopped salad, homemade bread, and fruit salad, not just chips, cookies, and fruit roll up. The food people mean by processed actually means ultra processed and that's when you start adding in stuff like extra sugar which is fine in moderation like everything else. From my courses in nutrition, it's best to eat items that are or combined with whole foods as much as you can without being strict on your eating habits. It's also very important to go to a doctor and a nutritionist as most doctors do not update their information on nutrition, with some not knowing much about it. Doctors can evaluate your health and a nutritionist or dietician can assist in telling you the food groups you may need more of or less of.

You have a good point, but I think she's trying to say not to eat too much ultraprocessed food, which is a fair point and is what I think is the biggest problem. UK consumers buy the most ultra processed food in Europe, and guess what the UK has the worst level of obesity in Europe, and in the US it's even more. Nothing is bad for you if you have it once in a while, from time to time, but when you load up on ultra processed crap that lack important nutrients (vitamins, minerals, protein, fibre etc) all the time that's where there's a problem
I try to just eat food i cook myself that mostly consist of whole foods. Regular exersice and stress management. Scientists and research papers will debate eachother and contradict eachother forever. Feels like there is a new "perfect diet" every 6 months.
My law is eat when I’m hungry because that means my body needs it I’m not always perfectly healthy but what’s the point of living for a long time if you don’t enjoy it 😂
My way of listening to my body is 1: not eating when I'm not hungry 2: eating a small snack to keep my blood sugar levels stable since I'm a type 2 diabetic 3: I stop eating when I'm full (sometimes my bf takes my plate when I'm full and picking at my food and trying to force myself to finish it because my mom made me ear everything on my plate)
This is my problem with our current understanding of nutrition, no one can agree on anything and one study seems to make or break whether or not a food is considered "healthy".
Yes!!! Thank you! I hate when ever I want to start eating healthy that happens. Like I tried to make food instead of eating deep fried fast food everyday and then I see a video or an article like "bannas can make you fat" or "is oatmeal really healthy" " fruit juice has allot of sugar!". Well it's all better than what I was eating. Deep fried potatoes and soda at every meal.
I just recently found you and love your videos! They are so accurate it is scary. I know what works for ME and my body, but yet I am constantly overthinking it and actually making myself and body worse in the process. It is not a one size fits all everyone is different! Thank you so much for these relatable videos!
I'll be honest, if there is something I won't moderate myself on, it's fresh fruits and veggies 😅 I obviously won't only eat that and love variety, but I'm not going to monitor myself and limit the number of fruits and veggies I'm going to eat 😅
So true. Eventually all those rules collected and when my mental health went downhill so did my ability to see past the food rules. For one reason or another, everything in my house was off limits or bad. I’m glad I was able to overcome that.
Omg this exactly there is way to much controversial shit out there with lifestyle diets it's so unbelievably confusing I can't decide what's right or not and the more I try to ignore everything and just try to go with it and what my body says the worse I spiral where is that happy medium
every body needs something different, most diets aren't made for you there made for your money, just make sure you eat regularly and try not to over eat, and most important is your mental health if you want to be physically healthy, good hygiene, regular but easy exercise and physical affection like hugs will do you a lot better than a diet.
Honestly, all of these drove me into the arms of food freedom. After trying for years to get it right, I've given up. I'm way happier and honestly feel WAY healthier eating everything in moderation and listening to my body.
I get tired when I'm hungry. In fact, that's one of the first signs I notice that make me realise I need to eat. I have a lot of respect for people who can eat only one meal per day but I'd feel terrible 🤷♀️
This is so real i saw this “diet influencer” and she was saying that we shouldnt eat things with ingredients we cant pronounce or anything like that and this made me realize that all those supplements she probably takes are 10 times worse.
I do small frequent meals, but that’s honestly just because that’s how my body specifically works best. It’s not because I heard it’s good for you. It’s because I snack all day, whether I eat meals or not. I used to get in trouble all the time for ruining my appetite, but I’d just end up bingeing at meals and still be hungry for snacks anyway. After years of trying different diets, I finally just decided to stop eating meals. I’m no longer overweight, and my doctor says I’m plenty healthy. I guess if you were going to label the way I eat, it would be intuitive eating. I eat what I’m hungry for when I’m hungry. Different people have different ideal eating habits ❤
Small meals throughout the day is my preference. I already snack and graze pretty naturally from my ADHD, i figure work with my habits, not against them and try to always have healthy snacks.
1. Different people have different goals, variations in options is a good thing 2. It shouldn’t be that difficult for an adult to know the difference between a fad and a genuine nutrition tip

"Don't eat ingredients you can't pronounced. You don't want to eat too many chemicals." "Ma'am...everything is chemicals. If I showed you the components of broccoli your head would explode." 😂
THANK YOU! I'm so sick of people freaking out about chemicals.
@@grassytramtracksThen you have to say "ultraprocesed foods" and not "chemicals".
I try to just eat food i cook myself that mostly consist of whole foods. Regular exersice and stress management. Scientists and research papers will debate eachother and contradict eachother forever. Feels like there is a new "perfect diet" every 6 months.
Eating is a basic human activity, and it sould not be this complacted and confusing! Eat what feels right ❤
1000% I’m so glad I found your channel. I’ve been so mixed up for years and I’ve been miserable and thinking everyone cares.
My favorite part of learning chemistry is being able to mention atleast 6 ingredients from the bottle of drinking water.
My law is eat when I’m hungry because that means my body needs it I’m not always perfectly healthy but what’s the point of living for a long time if you don’t enjoy it 😂
My way of listening to my body is
1: not eating when I'm not hungry
2: eating a small snack to keep my blood sugar levels stable since I'm a type 2 diabetic
3: I stop eating when I'm full (sometimes my bf takes my plate when I'm full and picking at my food and trying to force myself to finish it because my mom made me ear everything on my plate)
Whole Food Plant Based Nutrition will reverse your T2D, please look into it!
This is my problem with our current understanding of nutrition, no one can agree on anything and one study seems to make or break whether or not a food is considered "healthy".
This is where I am at right now 😵💫
Yes!!!
Lol @ worrying about the sugar from fresh fruit. The healthiest and happiest people I know live on the moderation train
I’m glad I was able to overcome that.
this is a visual representation of the thoughts in my head all day
Omg this exactly there is way to much controversial shit out there with lifestyle diets it's so unbelievably confusing I can't decide what's right or not and the more I try to ignore everything and just try to go with it and what my body says the worse I spiral where is that happy medium
As nutrition by kylie always says, don't think about what you can subtract, think about what you can add to make it more balanced
You probably get this all the time, but i love your videos and they have really helped my relationship with food, thank you!!
I love the simple approach in the video...keep it simple and you did it in a short interesting video.
Thank you for these shorts! Very relatable
every body needs something different, most diets aren't made for you there made for your money, just make sure you eat regularly and try not to over eat, and most important is your mental health if you want to be physically healthy, good hygiene, regular but easy exercise and physical affection like hugs will do you a lot better than a diet.
Honestly, all of these drove me into the arms of food freedom. After trying for years to get it right, I've given up. I'm way happier and honestly feel WAY healthier eating everything in moderation and listening to my body.
The fasting vs. A Lot of small meal one GENUINELY confuses me still 😂
I get tired when I'm hungry. In fact, that's one of the first signs I notice that make me realise I need to eat. I have a lot of respect for people who can eat only one meal per day but I'd feel terrible 🤷♀️
Exactly why I'm trying to find my own way! Instead of trusting people who don't know my body
This is so real i saw this “diet influencer” and she was saying that we shouldnt eat things with ingredients we cant pronounce or anything like that and this made me realize that all those supplements she probably takes are 10 times worse.
i agree with the one with glasses at the end part
The best way to do it is to eat what you’re body wants and what makes it feel good!
This is my favorite RUclips channel
"With 5 or less ingredients you can pronounce"
Me who took organic chemistry- FINALLY A GOOD USE FOR 2,3,4trichloromethanediol
Small meals throughout the day is my preference. I already snack and graze pretty naturally from my ADHD, i figure work with my habits, not against them and try to always have healthy snacks.
$17 a day is expensive af
I agree with the butter. Nutrition packed.
It does feel like that sometimes haha! My rule is just to keep it balanced.
Omg I love this video😂 Yes food and eating should be much more simple and fun!
Exactly! I eat like my grandma
If I don't eat small snacks throughout the day, I'll faint. So atleast that part is easy for me😅
I'll be honest... my favorite part of all your videos is all of the Adli Brand Products
As a nutrition degree holder. Yeah it's confusing.
1. Different people have different goals, variations in options is a good thing
2. It shouldn’t be that difficult for an adult to know the difference between a fad and a genuine nutrition tip
Yep. Everyone has a different opinion on sports and eating and people who want to loose weight or stay healthy have no clue what's right and what's wrong.
Literally just eat whatever fills you and makes you feel good :)
Wow you’re so right 😂😂
Thanks for the great content ❤

I completely ignored diet culter and went for siance drastically redused my sugar consumption quickly put on 6kgs then lost 12kgs now I’m just struggleing to get rid of the last 9kgs (I personaly couldn’t care less if I’m fat but I need to be a ceritan bmi for a surgery) I mostly just follow what my body wants which is protein most of the time and one meal per day and everyone always goes on about how unhealthy it is and I’m like my body just wants consistantsy cos if I’m inconsistent it will go into food storage mode if I’m not it knows it will get feed every day. I can not manage to be consistent if I try to have muiltpal meals unless someone else is makeing them for me
Moral of the store is to pick ya battles and do what works for you :)
It's all about 80-20. Eat majority unprocessed, whole foods, and less processed and artificial sugars. The problem comes when we reverse that
I was really insecure about my body when I was young, so I didn't really notice that much when I was younger that ofc I'd eat sugary foods bit I'd always look for the calories along with working out a lot so I'd get rid of armpit fat specifically.
I think that eating as close to the earth as possible is probably the best way to go overall. Not that foods are bad for you, but nature designed things the way they are for a reason.
I need to eat at least regularly because of my medications, but it's so confusing and so stressful when you're surrounded by people like this. I realized that i was sliding down the ed slope again when I missed how my apetite disappeared when i changed from one adhd medication to another. I blame my mother, but also people like these, for making me feel guilty about existing
This is why we shouldn’t take any dieting advice from anyone that isn’t a LICENSED NUTRITIONIST OR DIETICIAN!!!
(Also, I love this channel, and what mostly what’s on this channel is what my moms dietician advises. Also that and balanced meals and a few snacks inbetween.)
Only a dietitian. Anyone can call themself a nutritionist without any qualifications whatsoeve
I'm glad to know we take the same brand of krill oil. It's made a huuuge difference in my joint pain.
I eventually agreed to this. Because its confusing. People said to me that sandwich is not healthy. But then they says that tomato, lettuce, meat and bread is good for health which is literally a sandwich!
you can eat as much fruit as you want all day and not gain weight! its the best and most delicious. especially Orange my favourite!
some are really high in cal tho
*sips coffee*
My morning just got better
Yes
"Make sure you can pronounce the ingredients!" Me on my way to get a chemistry degree
me when my parents follow both (one follows one and the other follows the other)
Sugar from fruit is NOT the same sugar. Sugar in a soda a lot different.
exactly, as long as you are eating sugar that also contains the fiber your gut needs to slow the absorption of the sugars it is much easier on your body.
Someone addressed the confusion
This is so real
I recommend eating your cravings plus smth healthy like apple slices
Tbh all you need is a balanced diet with certain things in moderation, and to eat when you get hungry
Just eat what you want and be sure to exercise regulary you'll be fine
Eat what you like in moderation. A burger is bad if you eat it everyday. But if you eat it once a week then it doesn't have a huge impact to you.
Thank you !
I've been really struggling with food anxiety lately.
I’ve been raw vegan & felt great, but too expensive and restrictive…I’ve been carnivore & felt great, but too expensive and restrictive. I’m 30 lbs overweight and have NO IDEA how to lose it. 😫
I know someone who is like "gluten is bad for you" and I'm just like dude no it is actually bad to eat gluten free if you don't need to. Like I have celiac so I have to eat gluten free but I don't want everyone to eat the way I do it takes a lot of practice and getting used to.
The sugar from fruits absords slower
I like to have long very long break in eating breakfast that is like lunch in the morning and then 11 h break and it's fine for my body and like it because then I focused better on my work and I'm not that hungry through that period of the day then eat a good evening meal and that's perfect
. It's just hard to always tell at work I don't want lunch cuz I like to eat my big breakfast Slash lunch in the morning . But it's a shock for all my work colleagues and they think I don't eat enough... I just don't like it at work it's not like I'm starving, I don't even feel that hungry because that's how my body works and it's not like I'm extremely skinny , I'm actually a chubby girl.
I usually use my break to go to the park nearby, listen to some music and just relax .
The only thing my doc has said is stay as natural as you can but that doesn’t mean only natural
Tip: just eat stuff that you aren’t allergic to and that’ll keep you breathing and walking properly and of course the occasional junk
Eat when youre hungry
Eat what is accessible and makes you feel good in the body or the soul
Eat until you are full. Leftovers are okay, second servings are okay.
Fr, eating is so stressful with all theese diet cultures. For example, today i almost had a mental breakdown for eating a piece of cake and not doing ,,enough,, sport, so i could earn the food
just side idea, um, its better usually to eat fruti rather than smoothie cuz i used to overeat on smoothies without aware of it, but its simpler to fill up on the fibers of fresh fruit and stuff, but still if u prefer smoothies its wondorful for intakein fruit and seeda and veggies and whateveru want includin chlorophyll so ey just do wut works for u with ur lif
Make sure you cover all the necessary nutrients that you need on a daily basis like carbs, vitamins, and minerals. Have the rest (fats, proteins, etc) whenever you can because your body tends to store them. As long as you cover the basics you are free to experiment and eat what you want. Everything is healthy in the right amount.
Love when diet culture says ‘don’t eat anything processed in a way you don’t know or has a lot of ingredients you can’t pronouns!’ but you’re a food technologist and worked in food safety..
Fr there’s never a magic cure or pill or special diet that will fix everything LMAOOO and I love when those people say “oh doctors are hiding this trick from you” or “this is the real secret” 😂😂
BOOM. You summed it up.
I love your white sweatshirt/jacket. Where is it from?
There’s a difference between natural sugar and added sugar.
Ok good one
Omg girl on point
