      You need a heavier hammer. What you are using is a finish hammer, you need a framing hammer. It will save you on strokes and bent nails

      Very true, I think we'll just get an electric one for the next project.

    Very nice! Looking great.
    Something that can help or prevent the wood twisting is blocking at the top plates and if it was a longer span of roof every 4’. These would be like 2x4 wall blocking normally at 4’ from bottom or mid point on most 8’ walls. It adds more stability and helps to keep studs, rafters, joists etc. nice and straight. Usually the roof blocking needs vent holes 2” with screen.

      Rhanks! We're doing our best at the time. You're right, I have seen that before. We should have planned for that 😕 we'll keep that in mind for when we build the cabin! Thank you so much!

    Y'all are doing a great job. If you can afford it, get a nail gun. My wife and I built a house without one and if we could go back and do it over, that would be the first thing I would get. Can't wait to see your progress 😊.

    My bit of Canada developed because of fishing in the days of schooners under sail. They were dependent on the wind. Have you found a wind free part of the desert in Arizona? Your bathhouse will look even more like an old schooner when you add the topsails…I mean the roof!

    • @MiguelNMichellesRanch
      @MiguelNMichellesRanch  6 дней назад

      Wind free? No sir! anything not tied down will end up in the neighbors yard.

    i would get some vent cover grates(real cheap) the closable kind and put say 2 on the bottom of 1 side and 2 on the oppsite side high up to promote air flow but make sure there the closable kind. when the wind gets whippin and can get quite chilly standin there while wet trying to towel off in the winter months

    • @MiguelNMichellesRanch
      @MiguelNMichellesRanch  9 месяцев назад

      Yeah, you're right about that. We'll have to cover up the bottom and take care of that sometime. Thanks for the tip!

      I wish there wasn't then we wouldn't have to. People roll up on us all the time with no warning. we've been stalked at night and during the day, some people have had their houses burned down and shot at for no reason.

    Where do the water that goes on the floor and runs down the walls go? If it is just going under the building through wood how will it drain away from building and keep dry under building?

    If the bottom is wood for the shower, what do you stop the wood from rotting out because you’re taking a shower all the time

    • @MiguelNMichellesRanch
      @MiguelNMichellesRanch  8 месяцев назад

      this is an interesting question, We hadn't thought of that. we'll have to see what we're going to do about that. Thanks for the reminder!

      @@MiguelNMichellesRanchjust showed up here so don’t know exactly where you are, but looks like high desert. Aslong as you get the water away from the building and have some ventilation so it dries quickly you will likely not have rot issues for a long time. Just don’t have anything that traps water under the building and you’re golden.
