Mines a 2012, does everything I’ve wanted, sure it doesn’t do 60mph, but in the woods I don’t want to either. Dependable, torquey, strong, quiet, easy to maneuver, it’s a … mule , a workhorse. Mines 4wd with a rear locker, never hardly need them to be honest, low range is a beast for its size. Zero issues , just timely maintenance. And a gas sipper to boot.
I had a mule for a few years and absolutely worked it extremely hard for work. I had a few flat tires that was the worst problems I ever had. Buying another this year.
You have one of the best reviews of any side by side. I like the Mule a lot for many of the reasons you demonstrated so effectively. Great job on the roof and the other customizations.
Just waiting for my SX to arrive. I have watched many “review” videos and this is the first one that showed someone really use it , tweak it. Thanks for this.
Got a 2023. Added fire extinguisher, warning triangle, front winch for manoeuvring the snow plough. Replaced the tail light with two LED tail lights and added Low-speed vehicle, LSV, triangle, both legal requirements here. Glued asphalt paper on the flat bed and the floor, put rubber carpet over asphalt paper to reduce engine and road sound. A sliding slice of rubber carpet over the hand brake handle covering the slot in the plastic. Rubber carpet over the battery for rain protection. Also have the gear engage stiffness but it lessened after some hours running time and drivers "feel" for right rpm. Park the Mule with right gear for next trip. Original mirrors, "trash bucket" and roof etc way to high priced! de SA3BOW
Thank you! Those all sound like great upgrades. I am going to try some of your ideas to reduce engine sound. Fire extinguisher is a great idea! I really want a winch and snow plow, too.
I have the same mule only sx xc, It’s simple and efficient. The xc has a good bit more ground clearance than the sx. I don’t need anything fancy or expensive for crashing around in the woods. The engine in the sx mules has been around for 50 years In everything from lawn mowers to landscaping equipment. It’s very reliable. I bet the shifting issue will go away after use. Mine hardly ever has a shifting issue.
Thank you! That’s great info. Just a little more ground clearance would be nice. I’m gonna have to take a look at the XC. Love the Kawasaki motors! Thank you for watching and commenting!
You have to keep in mind that this is the entry level of the mule lineup. Your shifting problem is caused by driveline binding and is normal. There is no way that I will ever put out the money for a 4 seater. The SX replaced the 610. They are useful machines and are a great value. You will not regret adding a winch to both ends. Enjoy your outdoor pursuits.
Thanks so much. Yeah, the shifting really isn’t that big of an issue once you get used to it. I definitely will be adding winches! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review! - one of the best from SX on YT. Can you compare the SX with the 4010 in any way? Did you ride the latter or did you go straight to SX?
Thank you very much. Sorry, I have not driven a 4010. I went straight to the SX just for the entry level affordability. When I am ready to upgrade, I will definitely try to drive the whole Mule lineup.
I haven't tried anything too heavy. Just a trailer loaded down with a heap of logs. But, I have never felt like the mule was ever really struggling to go up that steep hill. Thanks for watching!
I don't think you would have any issue with leg room. You won't be able to fully extend your legs while seated but getting in and out comfortably is never an issue. I'm 5' 11". Thanks for watching!
Loved mine, until a year ago its got electrical problems been to the shop twice and needs to go again, ten hours each time its “fixed”. Wont start cranks but wont turn over. Just fed up.

Yes! Absolutely, everything you said! I agree, it's amazing sometimes what it will do in 2WD.
I had a mule for a few years and absolutely worked it extremely hard for work. I had a few flat tires that was the worst problems I ever had. Buying another this year.
Excellent! Glad to hear it!

Love my 2019 mule sx xc
It seems like theres nobody with any brand but the mule who is like “1400 hours and 12,000 miles, all stoxk but the battery!”
I have a 2023 SX 4 x 4. Not one issue yet with 131 hrs. Great review.
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for taking your time for a sincere review.
Thank you for watching!

Thank you so much. You don’t know how much I appreciate it.

Re: the top speed, you can adjust the governor to get an extra 8-10 mph out of it.
Oh, may have to try that! Thanks!
@@campnobody No prob... there are videos on YT which cover doing it on the 610. I'm assume the process is the same for the SX.
Excellent video, thank you.
Thank you very much!
We have tge same one. Awesome machine with tilt bed. What cracks me up as they put in a locking differential and a tilt wheel but not a horn
Ha. And why just one tail light?! I don't get it.
Good review. Informative and entertaining. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching!

Thinking about getting a mule. I only have 30 acres so I don’t need a speed demon.
It would be perfect for your 30!
Getting one in the AM...Thanks for your guidance. 4x4 FI.
That’s awesome. You won’t regret it. Have fun!
@@campnobody Thanks, but ended up with a Honda Pioneer 700 D. The Kawasaki salesman rubbed me wrong, so went down the road...Much nicer salesman!
Man, hate to hear that. That Honda will be awesome, though. Have fun!
I have a mule sx-xc and I love it
I am definitely going to be looking at the XC when it comes time for an upgrade.

How does it do pulling the tow behind brush mower? Does it struggle or overheat since it's air cooled?
It does great. Never a single issue pulling the brush mower over all of the trails with lots of hills to climb.
the mule mx is the one ya want
Oh yeah! Those look nice!
@@campnobody yeah with those you can play as well as do work with em they have a bigger bed and they're sposed to hold back goin down hills
How is the leg room ? I’m 6’1" and 66 yo , nice info, thanks
