That epic battle.. lets call it The Battle for the Isthmus Centre... will be studied by historians and military commanders in the years to come.. :)
What a game and what a cast. Also, amazing job on capturing the 4 fire galley deletions in picture in picture.

Not just conversions, Byzantine monks heal 100 percent faster! It's as if there are 16 monks adding hp during the fight instead of just 8 :D

I do think there are 3 reasons as to why Hera won that battle so decisively in the end:
    - He converts as a bunch of Catas at the beginning, which might look insignificant, but it's a 6 unit swing which can snowball into a victory
    - He had 8 monks healing 2 times as fast as normally, so effectively had 16 Monks healing his units.
    - Logistica gets the nastier the more units you have and the more they are clumped together. Heart split up his Catas to go after Monks and BBCs while Hera kept his one mostly together. When you're taking 50% trample damage from like 10 units around you, things can spiral fast.
Very fun game overall, Mirror matches can be really fun to see how players play with the same civ and what makes the different in the end. In this case I think it was simply Hera using the tool he had to the absolute max.

He also had Iron Casting during that battle, and Hearttt didn't. Hearttt got the upgrade about 10 seconds after the battle, so they had equal upgrades by the time that Issac reviewed them.

agree, trample damage has a advantage in a big fight

One thing I like about these civil wars is that if you lose you can't blame it on some inherent weakness in your civ

Great cast, great game! Btw, Hera could have created 54 monks and it would still not appear on the final screen giving the 3 most created units by each player. For all we know, he could have created way more monks than the 17 of Heart

That was a game to say the least

Hera took the Cataphract battle at minute 19:50 so easily because he had Iron Casting while Hearttt didn't. Hearttt got the upgrade seconds after the battle, so he already had it when you checked the upgrades at minute 20:30.
Now that's what I call "Empire Wars", amirite?

    great matchup 😀
every single cataphract counts in the trample damage, seems not wise to separate to 3 groups? 😅

75HP healing per minute in a 5 tile radius is ridiculously powerful

Hearttt choked. This was his biggest game so far. Within a year he's going to making people like Hera sweat

At 16:31 how did Hera get elite cataphract upgrade without resources for it?

    • @castofempires
      @castofempires  Месяц назад +1

If you look at 16:17 you'll see the resources go down 1200f, 800g - Hera queued the upgrade after Conscription
