Probably you have already solved your residual problem, but for me, using the same sticky decal you just took off is usually enough to get rid of such nasty residues. However, if harder than expected, you can always use isopropyl alcohol, kerosene or white gasoline to safely remove any adhesive remnants. None of them will harm the paint, but will clean the mess like a charm.
Mine just peeled right off. Took 5 minutes. All I did was drive in the hot FL heat for awhile. lol Had no residue. I put new better ones on though. Super snake style.
Dam your lucky well it was a cold day so even by leaving it in the sun it didn’t help. Going to post what I end up doing on my next video to fix it. 💪🏼

Most likely the heat from the engine caused the glue to stick like that on the hood. How long did you have the stripes on the car???
Goo gone would destroy that residue. Spray it on, let it set a couple minutes, and it'll wipe right off

Use an eraser wheel on a power drill.
Not on plastic or rubber folks. They melt.

Use paint lacquer Thinner for the sticky goo.
