Okay, I'm back. And some of those drafts should have been in the movie. Like when Eric told Ariel about Vanessa. It's a lot more heartbreaking because while he's still under Ursula spell he still acts like himself unlike the robot we got. So in Ariel's pov it's such an act of betrayal.☹️
The one where her voice is straight out pulled right from her throat is creepy unlike later where the hand goes in into her mouth and pulls the voice out
Ariel even tries to escape from the hands when she sees her voice glowing from her throat but they hold her down and take it away from her anyway. It’s like she realizes that she fucked around and found out but couldn’t get out of the deal by leaving and paid for it without consent . How hardcore frightening for a Disney movie
Somewhere I read that this scene almost made the movie been censored in some nordic country (Sweden I believe) because the censors and test kids found the concept of the ghost hands deep-throating Ariel too creepy, also because you can tell that Ariel is Scared and Ursula is obviously putting some sort of hypnotic spell to make her sing (notice the eyes) and she snaps out of in the moment the hands show her the voice in front of her. Also not sure if this is documented somewhere, but I always liked that the ghost hands kinda seem modeled after the hands of the witch in Snow White
2:01 Am I the only one who saw this pic of Ariel on the 2006 platinum edition dvd and thought this was Tinkerbell? Also, the lighting is so creepy, the red and black colors make it look like it came out of Scary Stories To Tell in The Dark 😭😭😭
@@justyourvoice okay that's cool, I'll keep my and I'll wait as well. Also make sure that when you put that video together, make sure the quality is really good and full HD quality

as terrifying as the scene is, i think the 11/4/87-8/4/89 instrumental with the violins is absolutely gorgeous
LOVE the November 1987 one!!!
Someone once said that tune Ariel was singing is actually the opening tune of "Bambi," 'Love Is The Song That Never Ends.'
Now I can't unhear it.
it’s also the melody of the first few lines of part of your world!
Ok WHOEVER FILMED THIS IS A FRICKING GENIUS
the person who filmed this is howard ashman
Rip Howard Ashman
Literal chills every time!
The first one looks creepy and the music too 0:18
Agreed.
Yep
Yep!
Any early synth instruments trying to sound like orchestral instruments will sound unsettling. It's like the audio equivalent to the uncanny valley.
yeah….
Omg I've never seen those beginning early drafts until now😮. Where did you find those?
the november 1987 and jaunary 1989 ones were uploaded yesterday by this channel! www.youtube.com/@cbismarck07/videos
@justyourvoice wow, no wonder I didn't see them before, well time for a binge watch.

Justyourvoice for the next video, can you post the early production of Ariel's transformation when she went from a mermaid to a human ?
