Brilliant, thank you from the bottom of my crafting heart, I was blaming the stamps me and now I went into my ink pad draw and my life has changed. love from a very happy stamper.

Great tips as much as I think I know I learn more everyday with techniques that for a longtime crafter like me finds simple to learn but has not - especially the technique with the 3 stamps of different dimensions- I never thought to ink one at a time 😮😊
This video changed my whole attitude towards stamping. Thank you, thank you, thank you! In my over-enthusiastic first response to discovering what stamping can produce, I went wild and purchased a bunch of stamps and had not even tried them. So, a couple weeks ago I decided I would go through and make a sample of each. But I quickly got discouraged because the images were so uneven. It never occurred to me that new unused stamps might have a coating. With eraser in hand, here I go! I'm now subscribed and will search for your other gems as soon as I have a spare moment from stamping!

@@CraftStashcoukTV is there a chance you could do something with mica powder? I bought some but don’t really know what to do. Also maybe making a DIY spray like the oxide but cheap diy version….
I just wipe my new stamp with a baby wipe and it's good to go, no eraser needed. Also, I have a stamping tool that has an edge around the whole thing so you can put your paper right in the corner and it holds it there perfect. Thanks for the tips though!
If you inked the stamp again with the distress ink it would have been a little more even but they do work well with stamping especially if you always to use different colours.
Yes, think that was something she missed or wasn't too clear on. I'm not a beginner but often don't do for a long time & I forget! I'm currently using original versafine & heat embossing it before I colour with promarkers and that works well. Think I'm right in saying that you need an ink pad that's made of the opposite to your colouring medium ie water-based for alcohol markers..but I do get mixed up with dye based etc! Don't know if that's helped but I tried lol
There's one in this series called common card making mistakes or thereabouts, it explains that Dye inks are for alcohol based colouring mediums (dye ink is water based so bleeds when in contact with water). Alcohol based inks, archival etc are for water based colouring (alcohol based colouring will result in stamped image bleeding) Pigment ink stays wet for a long time, good for embossing powder, can be used for stamping but requires drying before colouring and is water resistant but can still smudge with alcohol based colouring mediums
I find this video as a waste of time. Your problems are: you need better ink pads. Your's are probably dried out. And you should get rid of that plastic folder that you think will make good impressions. It's not helping your stamping. You don't need it.

I'm a beginner and have trouble with the stamps. I tend to get the ink on the flat part of the block as well and it goes on the card. 🤦
