GPD started this whole portable gaming PC trend, I will always give the credit for that
Yep, and then take away the credit for all of the serious mistakes they've made and issues vs competing devices.
I pre-ordered the top win 4 and I'm excited for it, and they really were pioneers in the field, but for every wonderful thing they've done I have an equal and opposite rage-inducing screwup. They're very hit and miss.
I have to agree with you. I wouldn’t have considered buying a device from them previously but the GPD Win4 is a stroke of genius. Side by side with the previous devices and there is a significant increase in improvements.
It is simply over engineering to have a device designed that small and able to fit a bigger battery and manage cooling better than the competition.
I think I will wait for better battery life maybe in a year or so. I want one but don’t need one so I can be even more patient. i should be able to take a flight ✈️ over an ocean to a different continent without needing to charge it.
@@EnochGitongaKimathi I have seen their devices before and they always looked like a gimmick. Oh look they made a tiny laptop that has gaming controllers crammed over the keyboard... But the GPD4 is the first that just feels right in every way. They completely nailed it. Physical keyboard, track pad, switch on the side to change between joystick and mouse emulation on the go, good battery, beautiful screen, many USB ports both on the top and bottom. I was considering the AYN Loki but when I saw the GPD 4 in action I was sold and gladly paid the extra 200$ extra over the Loki.
@@ROCKSTAR3291 The shape is a PSP/Vita. The sliding screen reminds me of the PSP Go. With that trackpad I even see a little bit of the Steam Deck in this. I can't wait to get mine.
x86 portable gaming PCs. Arm gaming PCs was around way before GPD like the Open Pandora.
Lets agree that we all want an official PS Vita 2
nah, more like Switch Pro/Switch 2. Playstation should only remain as a flagship home console. Steam Deck 2 probably won't have a SoC update so new console from Nintendo might be interesting if they finally do it right.
Nah it is trash
Since crossplay is trending right now, nope thanks.
So it can be out of stock for 1.5 years with outrageous prices
Definitely.
The vita 2 Sony refused to give
Exactly!
More like nobody would buy. Killed the vita because nobody buys it or supports it. Kinda go hand in hand.
@@2010ngojonobody wanted vita later because no games was there, its a circle 😬
Lmao. Sony makes consoles, not PCs. They would never make something like this.
@@2010ngojo Remember sd card proprietary. That thing thattt thing kills
Size doesn't always win. The steam deck may be bigger but it's a hassle to bring out and you often just end up using at home on the couch, this size is what I'd call portable and will definitely be comfortable to bring out to use in public
Facts
Mmmm, are you sure that SD’s size is the main pros?))) maybe, you can run Zelda on ps vita?)))))
Psp, ps vita, switch - all of these are portable consoles, not portable pc😊
Thats why my PS VITA is perfect! And i m using a brand new battery inside!!
@@mihailrublev7699 portable pc is hard to see. Never seen it.
@@ll3yWanTeD just look at Deck, man - it’s easy🗿
Man, I'm really sure that in 2025 we would all own such powerful handheld PCs that would be capable of 60FPS+ gaming with long battery life. Really looking forward to it.
is it really long? its about the same as steam deck if you squeeze its full potential
@@Bos_Meong He said in 2025
120fps would be the goal
Highly doubt on the battery life.
As long a new battery technology isn't invented, more than 1hr+ would be the norm, at lest if you are planning to play at 1080p and good settings
@@WanRa28Batter size need to be reduced. If we can add 80Wh battery on Win gpd 4 then battery life will be better..
APUs also need to get more efficient for that.
If this really sells for 1k then I’m extremely jealous of whoever can afford this.
I see the point, I wouldn’t do it for 1k. At that price rather go for a laptop with mobility and more quality or even yet the steam deck does it perfectly with size and price.
Its handheld you can play anywhere . Also the cheapest one is 799$ 16gb 512gb you can pay extra if you want more ram and storage ^^ . However i would like to buy steamdeck but it cannot ship to my country :) so i go for it
@@u0ka-354Good luck. It’s a super steep price.
@@shaggyshrimp7126I totally relate. I can’t bring myself to justify buying that when I could buy a moderate laptop that’ll perform better.
2tb version is 1k
1tb version is 900
I really like the form factor, a lot of companies are forgetting about portability and making massive devices that are almost laptops. I will have to wait for at least 60fps performance in AAA games before spending $1000+. Hopefully the new amd phoenix apu provides that.
The thing is that you wouldn't want 60fps even if it can run it. Many games we see in the video would run at 60 if they were in 720p instead of 1080 but the battery will be dead in an hour but the video want to show the actual maximum power and not battery life. You can lock the refresh rate at 40hz, run the game in 720p at low or medium settings and double the battery life. For a handheld it's the better way to run games unless you really only want to play 45 min on a full charge.
60fps is negligible at that screen size, and you can pull 60 often at 28 watts of power, but they all get warm and kill the battery.
If you get 60 FPS on a AAA using a $1000 laptop, let us know.
@@chamoo232 at 720p it isn't an issue. 1080p OLED and now you've got a battery guzzler
@@shahtayyib I have been playing Skyrim on my Odin pro in 720p and it looks perfectly fine with some antialiasing so I will definitely go that route when I get my GPD4 as well. Even better with games that have DLSS. If I dock it and run it on a big screen while it has external power then yeah I would probably bump the resolution up, texture quality as well and unlock the framerate but in handheld mode I would rather have longer battery life.
I get 60 on my ally and lego with lower wattage. Lego typically stays at 20 for me@@fofopads4450
This is the REAL HANDHELD
An amazing resolution, great performance with a confortable and nice size
THANKS GPD
I agree. My only gripe is pvp shooters on the small joysticks. If they are the same size as vita it's a no go for me. Its hard to tell in the side by side.
They sold me with the PSP aesthetic.
2:02 those back buttons sound so satisfying 😍
Great video! And the 16gb RAM + 512 ssd price is $799
Wow
I'm in awe, absolutely insane that tiny thing can squeeze that much juice. I really wish I had that 1k to throw around lmao
Pocketable and has more power. And the lcd is made horizontal for more compatibility on older games.
1:15 I like that smooth transition 💯
I hope that they get support from Sony because a PS Vita 2 or PSP 2 would be great especially if we can get battle toads as a ported over with trophy support
Honestly, imagine a PS vita 2 that connected to your PS5 so you can do remote play and get a second screen experience like a WiiU
No need ps vita 2, Playstation let’s other companies to build a pc handheld like this to run their ps remote play app 🙈
I think I would keep the keyboard open even if I'm not using it, just a better experience overall with a slightly higher screen. The device looks incredible.
Having picked up a Win Max 2, which is GPD's near-identical-specs laptop, I can say I'm incredibly excited about this one. Same specs but in an even smaller form factor should have incredible potential. Pull the resolution down a bit, drop in some FSR, and I feel like we will be able to blaze through most (if not all) modern titles at high/max settings.
and you have the option to hook it up to an eGPU and play on a monitor/TV sort of like a Switch on steroids
Uhhh maybe high but definitely not max setting
It has Radeon 680m integrated graphics, which is capable of giving gtx1050 level gaming performance.
If you play in 720p you can play any tripple A games at good fps, also 720p for that small screen will be fine
I also made the same kind of video! Would you mind checking
Could it play Asseto Corsa competition?
Best handheld PC yet. Love the PSP/Vita style design and powerful 6800u inside.

Man, they're getting so close. This honestly looks amazing, but I'm still gonna wait. This thing in it's testing is said to be just as good as a 1060 GTX and right now I'm running on my main rig with a 1070 GTX. The 7000 series cards are likely to come out in the middle of next year, and seeing GPD's usual pattern of refreshing their products, they will most definitely have another Indiegogo Campaign with the Win 4 featuring this better chipset, and I don't want to be kicking myself for buying in too early, so I will wait. It blows my mind that in the near future, I'm going to be able to buy a PC that fits right inside my pocket that has more power than the tower inside my home.
its just as good as 1050 laptop 4gb but the 1060 is in whole another level
@@talalalhayek8266 One of these big reviewers said it was equal to a 1060 GTX. Not sure if it was Taki Udon or ETA Prime.
this thing would blow my mind as a child. its like one of those concept arts for a next gen console.
i never would of expected a "psp" to look like this
I always watch your videos in my spare time, you give me great relaxation, very good video, bro, greetings from Peru.
I’m really excited for this to come to market!
9:46 best moment)
The size is impressive. I'm imagining it as a larger phone or half sized tablet which has full function of Windows PC to conduct elementary works if necessary, and also good for some gaming on long distance travel of train or plane where power socket is easy to locate nearby.
Pro-tip, play with the screen up for better heat dissipation
You can but this device doesn't really need it. I have seen comparison videos between this and the SteamDeck. The Deck was in the 70degree celcius in gaming while the GPD was pretty consistently in the 50 degrees. The cooling system on the GPD is fantastic.
Win 4 looks like the best for size and performance. I'll continue to hold until we see 60FPS average. These devices are currently releasing faster than phones.
If GPD just gave Proper consumer Support it would've been near big leagues of popular. I wouldn't even think of getting a deck over this, but that is not the case.
Same. If they actually had good customer support I would instantly buy it.
Hello, so their warranty is that bad for getting replacement or anything?. Regards.
@@leilavergerius9223 is a Chinese company with no North American support. You would get offered replacement parts to be mailed to you should something go wrong and they would expect you to install the parts. You aren't going to get valve level service. Even though this is superior in every other way, if you aren't comfortable possibly losing $800 don't buy from a Chinese company. But I'll probably risk it, as being able to emulate everything up to ps3 and your entire pc library playable in a compact size makes this to good to pass up. The steamdeck is to big with a terrible layout and no egpu support. So it's a no go for me.
@@creaturecore13 sometimes they don't even send replacement parts back, or if they do, it takes up to a whole year. They're a pretty shady company
@@creaturecore13 this is NOT better in every single way I have had two gpd products the win max and the gpd win 3 and the build quality for both were atrocious compared to the steam deck
Thank you for that size comparison! I'm intrigued because I could throw this in a bag for work travel and have the PC side of things handled
The clicky sounds on l1 hit me like Dam I need one of dezz!!
This is what phones in the early 2000’s we’re trying to do
I wonder how much different this is from the 3, because this does look fun to use!
Spec wise, very different. More powerful
@snowman1886 I'll wait for this one then😁 I was thinking of getting the steam deck but it just seems wayyyy to big, maybe this one is more fit for me😁
@@Real-Ez The Deck was out of my list right away because of the size. For me it was between the Ayn Loki and the GPD4 and I went for the GPD. It just has all the right features I like. The Loki is basically the same specs but it look more like a Switch Lite. Slightly cheaper too but I'm willing to pay more to get the right device for my needs.
@chamoo232 thanks for letting me know! I have enough to buy the gpd so I'll go ahead and get that one, plus it looks cool sliding it up lol
@@chamoo232 how much did the win 4 cost you? im thinking of getting one.
Love your vids man they’re so satisfying
all of this new "PC" Handheld just make Switch look so ancient now. i hope next Switch handheld with much better accessibility and power, at least target 60fps to all Switch game as default or give option for it
the sound is soo relaxing 😎
Ordered mine a couple weeks ago can't wait to get my hands on it 🙌
This size of handheld gaming performance better on 720 because size of screen you don't feel any different to 1080 but have better fps
No I see big difference between 720 and 1080p on small screen but 720 it's enough for 6 inches screen max
Omg it's been so long 8 million subs am I dreaming? I remember when you got 1 million I'm shocked
Great and calm unboxing as always!

Cool how these handhelds are coming out, not cool is the price they're launching them at
I appreciate the handhelds with full keyboard. They at least stand out from the rest
That honestly looks better than a steam deck
2:50 memories ,i had nokia n gage qd playing games on n gage qd back in those days were something else

I have one question: RelaxingEnd gets all the pc gaming handhelds from Aya, GPD as review samples - why Aya and GPD hadn’t gotten invitations from large electronic expos to promote their products?
Too niche and expensive i'm presuming, as those are usually aimed at regular consumers, most people aren't down to drop a grand on this.
Competition from big company... Business is not about fan and customer.. Top dogs won't encourage smaller puppy to challenge them

for the size of that thing it's running damn good and it's windows too
I want it even smaller and more pocketable.
Hopefully we get that in the future 💔🥺
A tilt function on the Display would be awesome

Since it’s windows, can’t you just go to the settings and change it to portrait?
A toy is considered a luxury item well, that's unbelievable!
Real question is how does it do with multiplayer games. As always love the knife collection.
You can use the built in USB port or plug in a UBS hub in the USB-C port to use wired controllers
it does pretty well with a Wi-Fi 6/E connection.
My man has a Nokia ncage oof boi that was a monster back in those old days. One of my friends had one.
You should make GTA 4 a standard benchmark for these things as it loves to ask a lot of even the most powerful systems, even now.
Gta 4 is more cpu bound and the handhelds always seem to be bottlenecked by their gpu so I think it would run flawless
These portable PCs are very powerful, playing modern games at 1080p and 60fps!
There was litteraly no fan noise. How is this even possible? Steamdeck and lots of other devices get really hot and loud. Even Switch is sometimes loud and never ever has the performance of this thing...
Yes some games like Zelda botw and now steam deck and even my gpd win 3 kinda more silent
They really did magic with the cooling system here, somehow the smallest device has the best thermal efficiency
There was likely fan noise, it just wasn’t picked up. Steam deck is also quite quiet.
Never rely on flipping screens they will break eventually my gpd win 1 didnt age well the screen is nothing but lines now, but it will took 5 years. This is awesome video by the way ^_^
Does this have a docking station so it can work as a regular PC as well?
Apparently yes
@@TheRelaxingEnd Cool!

i would play games on this using a lower resolution for newer games. this thing is a revolution
Sooooo it's like a psp vita on steroids
50-70 fps is pretty decent for a small screen. smooth gameplay for a handheld
The steamdeck killer!
@Samuel BG one problem. Gpd for all of their fault has been doing years before value despite what people tell you. They were the main company to help bring this form back
If was $400 sure not at 1k lmao

The steamdeck is quite literally ruling the market right now in portability lmao

Finally there is a built in keyboard handheld
But would you say it’s worth it?
If you're playing PPSSPP with this emulator, it really fits the design.
Good thing I didn't buy Steam Deck and instead went for GPD Win 4 (32GB/2TB), expensive than 512GB Steam Deck for sure but when I love is it's PSP Go-like form factor and it's awesome performance (I play games on 720p all the time since the 6 inch is very good enough and either prolong my game time or tweak it's graphic settings). Where did you buy the Aya neo 2 and how long did it take to ship?
You do you, obviously, but I really don't like how the Aya products look, or their buttons. Does it have a mouse solution, or just touchscreen/USB mouse? Glad you're enjoying it, though!

@@lumeronswift yeah that was the one worry as I liked GPDs simple switch to mouse or game pad mode. Luckily I didn’t have to worry as the the right analogue stick will work as the mouse like gpds and then when you are in came it will just automatically feel like a game pad in menus and gameplay

Id like to see 720p in the tests on the Win 4. I think on 6inches its enough and you can surely play some minutes longer.
For someone who is actually going to play it would be the way to go but the video wants to show the raw power of the device. What I plan to do with mine is lock the refresh rate to 40hz and run games in 720p. Then I will tweak game settings to find a great balance between battery usage and graphic settings. Make the battery last as long as possible while keeping games nice and steady at 40fps.
