I remember the first day I found them it was at a concert they were doing side stage and man when I say they had a fan base i mean it they had a fan base, like the whole crowd was at the side stage banging to them I was starstruck and ever since then have been a fan
So I've been thinking a lot. Their new stuff is exceptionally experimental for a previously deathcore band. It's experimental for a melodic metalcore band. HOWEVER, this sound is iconic. It's distinct and unmistakable. They hit the nail on the head with this album and it should remain their cherished signature moment. Still so beautiful
It's diff cz after the drug abuse of oli he had to go to rehab.after that he come out and said that he doesn't want to scream anymore.He wanted to sing.that to me was beautiful.ofc these are iconic and masterpieces but their new music is still them and not an experiment...at least that's how I feel
There is a Hell and Sempiternal, to me, are their sweet spot. Nothing they had done before and they would've made afterwards can compare imho. Both melodies and lyrics were at their finest. They haven't been at this level anymore.
I absolutely love this song.One thing I don't understand about people that are like "this is not metal" and things like that - look, instead of trying to find out the precise genre of the song or hating on it because it's not how to "wanted" it to be, why don't you just simply listen to the lyrics of the song and try to understand what it is tying to tell you. Imagine Sleepwalking with super heavy continuous electric guitar and Oliver just screaming and groaning - it just doesn't fit! Appreciate the song for how it is. It is true that the songs have changed through the years but what are you gonna do about it? It's their decision and if you don't like it don't listen to it.
I think older fans miss the deathcore elements and the entire metal community just has this "Oh, a metalcore band, they can't be metal, metalcore sucks" because of bands like Falling In Reverse and (early) Asking Alexandria. It's ridiculous because the production value and the synths are amazing, some soft ad vibrant strings, great harmonies and crowd vocals, some of Matt Nicholis' best drumming came forth on Sempiternal... This has to be the best song they've written and produced in their whole career. It also happens to be my favourite song from my favourite band.
The Light At The End I don't think you fully understand how huge metal is, but BMTH is metalcore, not metal. There's doom, power, progressive, death, black, folk, speed, thrash, avant-garde, drone, stoner and tons of other forms of metal, but metalcore isn't one of them.
Reminds me of such a hard times before, during and after staying in psych ward when I was 15 in 2016. Used to listen to this masterpiece everyday, feeling absolutely nothing but his screams to get me through the infinite days that feel like a one neverlasting nightmare... I was sleepwalking my life away back then. This song will alwasy be a reminder to keep going with my eyes wide open. I'll make it to 30. And then 40. 50... I'm gonna keep living. Thank you BMTH.

I kept playing this song in my dorm during my first year in college. Now, this song always reminds me of that time. The most wonderful days in my life so far were then.

It eventually thrusted me in to full blown mania, delusions of grandeur, perceiving patterns that seemed to support the idea that everything somehow centered around me. It truly felt that life itself was a movie about me and everyone else were just characters in my biopic. Ollie said it drove him to the brink of suicide. Nothing fucks with your perception of the world quite like ketamine addiction.

I suffer from anxiety. My ex presented me to BMTH about 10 years ago. I never knew why this song resonated so well with me, made me feel like it expressed something I couldn't. After therapy in the recent years I've come to realize that this lyrics and music are almost a perfect representation of what an anxiety attack feels like.

This was the first BMTH song I had ever heard. (I know, late to the bloody party) The Sempiternal album got me through having my world turned upside down in a very traumatic and sudden way at the time (still helps to this day). I kept going and would have this blasting on my hour long trip to school back in 2013. I was on the train a handful of times and I actually fell asleep to BMTH blasting through my earphones 😄. It was so healing for me that I could even fall asleep while it played, when it should have definitely kept me the f awake lol. I will always love and appreciate BMTH. Before discovering BMTH I must have been living under a big arse rock 🪨 .

I can't express how powerful this song is. I've been listening to it since I was 15 years old - now I'm 21. The way "It's like I'm sleepwalking" is sung perfectly describe the road I've been paving in my life, the road of acceptance of it all although my nihilism is there to remind me that nothing has any sense at all. This song is so fierce, so straightforward. I don't believe BMTH is a world-class band, especially because its members are childish guys with several issues (on Reddit there is an infinite amount of bad stories on them unfortunately), but for fuck's sake, There is a Hell and Sempiternal are the most powerful and emotional albums I've ever heard in my life. Would really love to hear something similar, lyrics in particular.
They are world class though. They have sold over 2.5 mill albums worldwide so idk how they arent world class. They sell out shows from London to Sydney in 10,000 people arenas.

I’m so happy I’m no longer the same angry self hating little girl anymore.. I still hate myself but not so much that i would go back to self harming. Same thing. I'm 33 now, got into metal with nu metal in the 2000s, then got more in thrash and more "elite" genres but somehow skipped this era because they were part of a "genre" we couldn't get caught listening. Now in 2021, through this pandemic, I'm rediscovering tons of bands I refused to listen to at the time and now regret that I could have been there to experience all that but denied myself. Glad to see the band still doing well and still see new people discovering their music.

So I've been thinking a lot. Their new stuff is exceptionally experimental for a previously deathcore band. It's experimental for a melodic metalcore band. HOWEVER, this sound is iconic. It's distinct and unmistakable. They hit the nail on the head with this album and it should remain their cherished signature moment. Still so beautiful

There is a Hell and Sempiternal, to me, are their sweet spot. Nothing they had done before and they would've made afterwards can compare imho. Both melodies and lyrics were at their finest. They haven't been at this level anymore.
I absolutely love this song.One thing I don't understand about people that are like "this is not metal" and things like that - look, instead of trying to find out the precise genre of the song or hating on it because it's not how to "wanted" it to be, why don't you just simply listen to the lyrics of the song and try to understand what it is tying to tell you. Imagine Sleepwalking with super heavy continuous electric guitar and Oliver just screaming and groaning - it just doesn't fit! Appreciate the song for how it is. It is true that the songs have changed through the years but what are you gonna do about it? It's their decision and if you don't like it don't listen to it.

I think older fans miss the deathcore elements and the entire metal community just has this "Oh, a metalcore band, they can't be metal, metalcore sucks" because of bands like Falling In Reverse and (early) Asking Alexandria. It's ridiculous because the production value and the synths are amazing, some soft ad vibrant strings, great harmonies and crowd vocals, some of Matt Nicholis' best drumming came forth on Sempiternal... This has to be the best song they've written and produced in their whole career. It also happens to be my favourite song from my favourite band.
The Light At The End I don't think you fully understand how huge metal is, but BMTH is metalcore, not metal. There's doom, power, progressive, death, black, folk, speed, thrash, avant-garde, drone, stoner and tons of other forms of metal, but metalcore isn't one of them.

Reminds me of such a hard times before, during and after staying in psych ward when I was 15 in 2016. Used to listen to this masterpiece everyday, feeling absolutely nothing but his screams to get me through the infinite days that feel like a one neverlasting nightmare... I was sleepwalking my life away back then. This song will alwasy be a reminder to keep going with my eyes wide open. I'll make it to 30. And then 40. 50... I'm gonna keep living. Thank you BMTH.

It eventually thrusted me in to full blown mania, delusions of grandeur, perceiving patterns that seemed to support the idea that everything somehow centered around me. It truly felt that life itself was a movie about me and everyone else were just characters in my biopic. Ollie said it drove him to the brink of suicide. Nothing fucks with your perception of the world quite like ketamine addiction.

I suffer from anxiety. My ex presented me to BMTH about 10 years ago. I never knew why this song resonated so well with me, made me feel like it expressed something I couldn't. This was the first BMTH song I had ever heard. (I know, late to the bloody party)
The Sempiternal album got me through having my world turned upside down in a very traumatic and sudden way at the time (still helps to this day).
I kept going and would have this blasting on my hour long trip to school back in 2013. I was on the train a handful of times and I actually fell asleep to BMTH blasting through my earphones 😄.
It was so healing for me that I could even fall asleep while it played, when it should have definitely kept me the f awake lol.
I will always love and appreciate BMTH.
Before discovering BMTH I must have been living under a big arse rock 🪨 .

I can't express how powerful this song is. I've been listening to it since I was 15 years old - now I'm 21. The way "It's like I'm sleepwalking" is sung perfectly describe the road I've been paving in my life, the road of acceptance of it all although my nihilism is there to remind me that nothing has any sense at all. This song is so fierce, so straightforward. I don't believe BMTH is a world-class band, especially because its members are childish guys with several issues (on Reddit there is an infinite amount of bad stories on them unfortunately), but for fuck's sake, There is a Hell and Sempiternal are the most powerful and emotional albums I've ever heard in my life. Would really love to hear something similar, lyrics in particular.
They are world class though. They have sold over 2.5 mill albums worldwide so idk how they arent world class. They sell out shows from London to Sydney in 10,000 people arenas.

Anyway, I'm not trying to badmouth them: I'd still listen to their music if they'd be worse than that. I don't care about what they do with their lives as long as they bring such beauty to music - which is something that, to me, they couldn't do with Amo.
People discovering BMTH now: They were heavy before like deathcore but later they explored new ways to express themselves. Their talent is not limited to a particular genre and therefore they are not going to limit themselves either.

I remember listening to BMTH in 6th grade for the first time. 😭 I’ve honestly came so far.. compared to myself back then I’m doing so good. I’m so happy I’m no longer the same angry self hating little girl anymore.. I still hate myself but not so much that i would go back to self harming. Listening to my old music really tears me up and it makes me so happy.

Same thing. I'm 33 now, got into metal with nu metal in the 2000s, then got more in thrash and more "elite" genres but somehow skipped this era because they were part of a "genre" we couldn't get caught listening. Now in 2021, through this pandemic, I'm rediscovering tons of bands I refused to listen to at the time and now regret that I could have been there to experience all that but denied myself. Glad to see the band still doing well and still see new people discovering their music.
