Other artists can over-complicate the process for beginners and make it daunting, you have a talent for teaching. I’m 54 years old and just now teaching myself to draw. All my life I’ve been convinced that I can’t draw and that I have zero artistic ability. Having survived a terminal cancer diagnosis after being given just 3 months to live I know that i can do anything I set my mind to. Drawing has been on my bucket list all my life. You can’t believe how much this video gelled with me and gave me an awakening, I finally get it. Can’t express enough how much I appreciate the time and effort it took to produce this video. Count me in to your loyalest of followers as of now! 💕
Great tutorial. I am completely untrained in drawing and painting and the process of simplifying the subject is very helpful. It makes sense. Also, following along with you in Procreate was also useful. I’m trying to learn both things at once!
This was a very good tutorial; not only do we learn how to draw a bear, the whole point(that i take away from this) is to learn the process of observation and applying those observations in our own way. This is definitely a valuable tutorial and is refreshing to see that the secret to drawing isn't so much the drawing itself, but is just as much the observations we make and apply to the canvas. I'd love to see more videos like this one, but this one alone is worth a playlist of tutorials as well.

As a person who wish herself able to draw, it helps a lot for self learning people how to learn draw since mostly they just tell about the drawing theory like perspective, shading, etc (even if those are important too), but they should do this first before all those theory can be applied.

sometimes, whenever i draw my mind just automatically wants it to already be beautiful and finished as a whole, in which case i rush and start drawing them as one confluent thing instead of drawing them per shape (if that makes sense), and it almost always never turns out the way i want it to. getting reminders like this - breaking down your object into simple shapes - really help me a lot. thank you.

I used to do the same thing! It takes some extra time this way, but the outcome is way better. Plus you get faster at it the more you do it.
